TTC in August Looking for a BFP

Hi,
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us looking for a BFP in August. I'm ttc #2. Have a DS of 3.3. I'm current on CD15 - OD day - with a bit of luck. Have been bd'ing like mad over my fertile days and will continue to do so for a few more days yet. Then it will just be the 2ww. Anyone else in situation?

Hello, can I come and play please?

We've just started ttc after getting married a couple of months ago, and should know yes or no sometime between July 31st + Aug 3rd.

I'm 32 and have been a nanny for 14 years, and it's very excited finally 'being allowed' to have my own, that I'll never have to leave when they get too old or move away!

(Can I ask, what are the cd numbers? Then I can join in properly!)

libralady · 24/07/2007 22:13

Hi KnitterintheNW,
Welcome. CD means cycle days CD1 being the 1st day of your period.
You are obviously in the 2ww like myself. Let's hope we both get BFP at the end of it.

Hello again!

In that case I'm CD22 today - get me!

I've got my fingers crossed for us both

moodymoo · 25/07/2007 11:17

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining in. Am cd7 and desperate to get a BFP. Was planning on bd'ing every other day just to make sure I didn't miss 'the right time' but not going to plan - dh has fallen asleep last 2 nights b4 any bd'ing!!. Think I might have over reacted last night though - took my pillow and slept on the sofa - got no chance of bd'ing if in seperate rooms!.
Fingers crossed for you both for a BFP.

ClaireHappyGal · 25/07/2007 12:08

I am 34 have 2 dd's and ttc no.3. I am currently on cd28 of 4th cycle.

Thought I might post on here as I think that AF is due any day. Had low dull ache yesteday as normal and started spotting. Was hoping for implatation bleed, but not likely. Will have to test in a few days.

I am worried that I am late in ttc since oldest dd is 12. I am living abroad temporarily and thought that it would be a lovely time to consider ttc before returning to the UK. I have so much more time to dedicate to another child and the environment is lovely.

We have tried everything to make sure of a + result, but nothing is working. DH is very anxious and gets upset when I tell him that AF has arrived. Now I am leaving sanitary protection on display, rather than having to tell him personally. I think because he is a little older than me, he thinks that time is not on our side.

We were hoping that I would be able to start testing after our return from our weekend away, which was an exciting thought, but looks like we know the results already. Well, looks like I will join all those wishing for a BFP in August an those TTC in Augusut too

KnitterInTheNW · 25/07/2007 12:16

Actually I'm CD23... counted wrong the first time!

CHG, I don't think your DH being a little older than you makes much or any difference? My dad is 15 years older than my mum and was 40 when I was born, 42 when my DS was born. And in one of my nanny jobs, again the dad was older than the mum, and he was 45 when their 1st was born & 47 when their twins were born!

libralady · 25/07/2007 12:44

Hi DHG. Welcome.
I was 34 when I had DS and I am nearly 38 now ttc#2. My husband too is in his 40s so don't worry. Charlie Chaplin was fathering children in his 70's!

ClaireHappyGal · 26/07/2007 15:09

Well does, give me great help. I just keep reading about how much more of a risk it is the older you get.

I will admit to being of a slightly larger frame which I know may be a factor in the delay of conceiving. But are just wondering if there are any other reasons why it is taking longer this time.

I am going into town and are looking for some herbal help, but I live in Spain and are unsure of what to buy as I don't speak Spanish.

luchinka · 26/07/2007 16:30

Hi
I also got married a couple of months ago and am now going with the flow and seeing what happens without trying too hard or temping or anything. I'm cd 10 of my second cycle after coming off the pill. Where in Spain are you Claire?

looneytune · 26/07/2007 18:21

Oh yes, been waiting for the August TTC thread to arrive I'm on CD5 and hoping AF will be gone by later tonight or tomorrow. This is first cycle after coming off the pill. I'm TTC no 2, ds is 4.4.

BTW, I'm 31 and dh is 46 (15 yr gap) and ds was conceived no problem. I do worry about age but I after speaking to others on here, feel much better and am not thinking about that.

I'm looking forward to lots of BD'ing and really hope for a BFP later in August.

Good luck to everyone else

LT xx

libralady · 26/07/2007 20:36

Welcome Looneytune

Looks like your're in the same boat as me ttc #2. My DS is 3.3 and I'm nearly 38 and DH is 41. Let's hope Ausgust is our month. I'm currently CD 18 and looking for any sign of pg

OP posts:
Twinklewishes · 27/07/2007 09:51

(changed name as not so ClaireHappyGal at the moment)

I hoped that I would be able to "go with the flow" as well Luchinka, but after trying for a few months, I have started to become obsessed. I live in Northern Spain in the Basque Country and things are quite hard as I don't speak the language at all.

There is an 8 year age difference between me and DH. But like you say looneytune, after speaking to others and reading other threads, I am beginning to worry less and less.

Keeping fingers crossed for you libralady. I am currently on CD1 today. But I think that TTC this month may be difficult due to holidays etc being over OV week. We will have to wait and see.

boozle · 27/07/2007 13:02

Hello, can I join you?

I am 38 and TTC #2. I also have an "older" husband - he's 45.

I am on CD13 in the 18th cycle of TTC and am very (probably too!) hopeful this month. I have just come off three months of clomid and had lots of EWCM yesterday, which is exactly what happened when I got pregnant with my DD the first time round ..... so lots of BD and fingers tightly crossed!

CHG - I too live abroad (Germany) and it was very hard before I could speak the language (been here 8 years now so have no excuses!). Don't underestimate the stress of it. It's incredibly frustrating not being able to just be yourself. Incidentally, I, too, find it impossible to "go with flow" like Luchinka (and am very envious of such people!) and I find the TWW very hard to get through. And this even though my own experience shows that it does help - the month in which I got PG with my DD (after 31 tries!) was the one in which my attitude changed from "Please, please, please" to "Bugger it, I don't care, I'm giving up and having my life back"! (I was actually then quite miffed to find myself PG, but I'm told that's often the case at first!).

libralady · 27/07/2007 14:46

Hi Boozle,
How old is your DD?
My DS is 3.3 and we've just started ttc #2. Early days yet........

fridayatlast · 27/07/2007 15:47

pipsqueeke · 27/07/2007 15:51

It's really easy to get obsessed about it, but I need to have a life too, so I'm doing my best to be nothing more than interested rather than obsessed. How long have you been in the Basque country Claire? I'm in Andalucia, been here for 7 years. married to a spaniard.

boozle · 27/07/2007 16:36

Pipsqueeke/Meto - congratulations!

Hi Libralady,

She's 22 months. We started TTC #2 as soon as I got my PD back after she was born, supposedly in case it took as long to conceive the second time as it did the first (and it's heading that way!), but also because a secret part of me hoped against hope that with all those hormones still swimming around I would be lucky enough to be get pregnant at the drop of a hat the second time round. That wasn't to be, but I'm hanging in there.

Good luck to you and everyone else on the thread!

libralady · 27/07/2007 16:50

Hi Boozle,
I know what you mean. It took me three years to conceive DS. Had all the tests and was told I had PCOS and the chances of me conceiving without intervention were pratically zilch. Was prescribed Clomid to take at start of next af and discovered 2 days later I was already pg.
But time is marching on and I will be 38 soon. I don't want to find myself ttc still when I'm 41!

Bellie · 27/07/2007 16:56

Hi can I join?

TTC no2 have dd 2.9. Been trying since July last year. Had an ectopic in Sept and had to have a tube removed.

Didn't realise how broody I was until 2 friends announced their BFPs this week.

Trying not to take it all too seriously until their announcements made me happy but sad all at the same time, so this month have the ovulation sticks, grapefruit juice at the ready!

On cd7.

Good luck to all!

boozle · 27/07/2007 21:08

Hello and welcome Bellie!

Sorry to hear your sad news. Very best of luck for this month. It is a bit of a rollercoaster where others are concerned, isn't it? My neighbour went in today to have her first baby, and whilst I am truly delighted for her, I still found myself shedding a few "why not me?" tears.

Libralady - Your story sounds familiar, except in my case the tests revealed nothing wrong at all so I ended up as a case of unexplained infertility. That was very frustrating - rather like fighting the invisible man. I was eventually put on clomid for want of another solution, but I can?t complain as it likely did result in my DD and I'm hoping it will do the trick this time too. The idea of being TTC at age 40 or 41 does not appeal to me either - unless it's #3!

lissie · 27/07/2007 21:17

right, im giving in. and rejoining the ttc boards!

af is due on sunday but i know im not pg, and on monday i start clomid. hi all!

Bellie · 27/07/2007 21:56

Thanks Boozle - the tears are definately bitter sweet arn't they?

Lissie - we have 'spoken' a couple of times lets support each other here too!

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:01

after last month (my 5th mc in 2y) ive been avoiding the ttc boards, and ive missed it so much.

toytownmum · 27/07/2007 22:20

Hello...

Been lingering in the sidelines, trying to pluck up the courage to join ttc talks.........Here I am

Only one month ttc with dc3 BUT DS1 was born to IVF and I fell for DS2 naturally when DS1 was 5 mths. Having TTC DS1 for 6 yrs before trying IVF, DS2 was as unplanned as they come, however have no confidence that it will happen this time as we are officially trying. (Hope this makes sense!?!?!)
