P.S I've actually just realised there is cat hair on the bed in that first photo which is so gross I'm so sorry!!

Marleym28 · 30/05/2019 08:03

@Bettythecat congrats!!! Also your nail polish is a lovely colour.

Me personally, I like seeing the BFPs because it reminds me that it will (at some point) happen.

Also your post made me laugh, 'I've got one' it's like Charlie & his golden ticket haha
Good luck and 🤞🏼

Fivebyfive2 · 30/05/2019 08:05

@bettythecat, yeeeessss!! So very happy for you!! Everything crossed that is is the one for you, remember the stats are in your favour xxx. Ha ha I love the cat hair, my bed is the same 😛 If it helps, with vitamins, I started taking the Boots pregnancy plus ones. It's one green tablet with your folic acid, vit d, vit c plus others. And an omega 3 capsule. I think they're similar to the pregacare max ones, but the pregacare was 2 tablets plus a capsule which seemed a lot to me?!

PaintingOwls · 30/05/2019 08:19

Bettythecat

Congratulations!!

MrsR16 · 30/05/2019 08:31

Popped back on here to see how everyone's doing and omg! @Bettythecat huge congratulations!!! That's a great line xx

ELW85 · 30/05/2019 08:37

@Bettythecat - you’ve got absolutely nothing to be apologising for!
Beyond excited to you, and wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months :)

Bettythecat · 30/05/2019 08:45

@Marleym28 thanks! It's an OPI gel one I forget the name. Haha I know I do feel like I've got the golden ticket today!! As I was saying the other day it feels such a pipe dream when you're TTC so when it actually happens it's mad!

Thanks @Fivebyfive2 🥰. I'm rooting for us both this time round. We are (sort of) in sync again!! Thanks for your tips on the pregnancy supplements too- I'll have a look at those. I guess I'm worried if the supplements had a positive effect on my progesterone and then I stop taking them that it will all go wrong again 😫

@PaintingOwls @ELW85 @MrsR16 thanks so much lovely ones!

Also I know I always obsess over details like this so in terms of implantation if I was a betting woman I would say it probably happened on Sunday when I was 8DPO because I was very emotional and tired and had ovary type pain. I got a BFN the next day!

Final thing is that I never gave up wine or caffeine completely... just wanted to say that because I think it's so easy to blame ourselves when it doesn't happen one cycle. Like "if I hadn't had that wine on Sunday I would be pregnant now". I cut down significantly (we used to be a share a bottle in front of the tv kind of couple) but even after ovulation I don't go totally tee total. Maybe the odd glass of wine a couple of times a week.

Lozzlepop · 30/05/2019 08:46

Happy Thursday ladies! It is a miserable day in Edinburgh - get me to the sunshine!!

@purplefig no not at all, spread the positivity ☺️ I deffo think having a more relaxed approach is a good thing for your wellbeing if nothing else!

@Lola871 I never need an excuse to have a biscuit, although last night it was a donut!

@LokiCat I find its a good way to have them there but not look at them too often. I hope you managed to purchase some biscuits on your way home?

@ValidUser good luck for shot day! Sending lots of positive vibes your way!!

@Bettythecat ahhhhhhhhhh congratulations!!!! What amazing news for a Thursday! I am so so happy for you ❤️

MrsH497 · 30/05/2019 09:23

Hugh congratulations @Bettythecat so happy for you xx

ELW85 · 30/05/2019 09:31

@Bettythecat - it’s great to hear that you still had a balance when it came to other things and still got your BFP!!

@Lozzlepop - can you sort the weather out for my next trip up the road on Wednesday please? :)

Larrydavid · 30/05/2019 09:37

@Bettythecat I swear the reason I come on here is only to see other BFPs! Congratulations! You must be so thrilled.

Thanks for all the welcomes - you guys are a very welcoming bunch!

@purplefig - here's my stats (apols if I miss any - no idea what I'm writing! 😂)

TTC 1
Cycle 1 of properly trying, but I had my coil removed and have been casually seeing what will happen ever since (about 3?)
I'm 35
I have endometriosis and have had a mirena in for 15 years - doctor advised to get trying before endo comes back.
Used CB OPK last month - got 4 flashing smiles then two static's on sat/sun- thought we were DTD at the right time but after some ovary pains yesterday I fear we might have completely missed it! 🙈 But either way, reckon I'm about 3dpo about now.

Literally had no idea ttc would be so complicated but am trying to be chilled about the whole thing - I've always assumed I'd have some issues TTC but I guess time will tell!

Living for the other BFPs that I'll hopefully see in this group this month!

Anyone else here have endo?
I've written an essay! Sorry!

Larrydavid · 30/05/2019 09:38

@Bettythecat also great to hear about the coffee and wine - I read your post whilst guzzling on a flat white!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 30/05/2019 09:47

@ValidUser I hope all goes well for you over the next few days!! :D lots of sex over the bank holiday weekend for you!! Wink I am a Dub who now lives in Roscommon so I am not a million miles away from you!!

Congrats @Bettythecat delighted for you, I hope it all goes well this time.

Myself and DP were having a conversation last night and I vented about the TTW. I don't think he realised just how frustrating I find it. I have spent more on FR tests in the last few months and he didn't even realise bless him. I didn't want to get his hopes up the two months in a row that AF was late. He know the exact date I am due this month, and it is a Sunday so he will know if she does not show!! lol

MrsEG · 30/05/2019 09:51

@bettythecat Huge massive congratulations lovely, what an amazing line for 12DPO too! And don’t apologise for cat hair - I live with a Siberian Husky - there is more hair in this house than anything else!!

Re: supplements they usually advise going straight on to a pregnancy supplement but I can’t see why you couldn’t take vit C also? Maybe try and get a GP appt this week to check with them! Or just eat loads and loads of vit C fruits and veggies ha! Can’t be anything wrong with that!!

MrsEG · 30/05/2019 09:59

Ladies I hate to bring the vibe of the thread down especially on a BFP day but I am having a SHITE day today.

Still no appt with the hospital but did get a leaflet through about the recurrent MC clinic. In it, it advises only taking low dose aspirin from 8 weeks and it can actually have an adverse effect taking it before then? So completely conflicting advice than we were given by the consultant at the EPU. I also had a wobbler yesterday over three pregnancy announcements on FB - I was basically collapsed in a pool of my own tears when DH came home from work (so much for my fun bucket list week). My first due date is only 5 weeks away and it just really got to me.

Then, today we had our GP appt (as advised by EPU while we wait for our RCM appt) and they just looked at us stupid, like ‘why are you here, you can both get pregnant there’s nothing we can do for you’. I left in pieces.

AND TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY I woke up today with loads of EWCM.

I literally just feel like a bag of poop and thought I’d vent to the only group of ladies who get it!! Currently genuinely having a massive bar of Galaxy for breakfast.

dahlia123 · 30/05/2019 10:30

Had a few days off screens after getting a migraine Sunday morning after getting my period late on Saturday night.

Lovely to come back on and see your BFP @Bettythecat - so happy for you!

Hello @Larrydavid!

Sorry to hear about all of that @MrsEG - galaxy is a good brekkie. (Have you friend breaking chunks of it into a mug, adding a tiny little bit of milk and popping in the microwave for a few seconds? Helps when I need an extra pick me up). So frustrating about the GP and the conflicting advice.

LokiCat · 30/05/2019 10:33

@MrsEG oh I honestly wish I could give you a big hug right now! I'm sorry you're having such a crap day. I can't believe the GPs response to you just focusing on the fact that you can get pregnant rather than actually trying to help you, especially after what you've been through. I hope the RMC appt comes through soon to actually have a useful plan in place with tests. Is there a number you can call to speak to someone about the aspirin?
It's understandable to have some days where you feel low, along with your bucket list days. You've got a lovely supportive DH and we're all always here to vent to!

Having a big bar of Galaxy sounds perfect. Maybe you can do something this evening from your bucket list to end the day on a high?

Sorry I wish there was something I could say to help. I know it's such a difficult time going through this. Big hugs xx

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 10:47

@Bettythecat i am so, so thrilled for you. Also, I love cat hair. My 3 produce copious quantities and I could probably make a blanket with what they shed.

@ImMeantToBeWorking that's so close! I even worked in Roscommon for a bit.

@Lozzlepop thank you! Just gave the trigger shot. Happy to be done with injecting myself for a while!

@MrsEG sending you hugs. Am I right in thinking you had 2 miscarriages? That's heartbreaking. I know this doesn't take the pain away, but there's a large body of thought that it isn't medically concerning until 3 or even 4 miscarriages have occurred. Obviously not at all recommending you don't get checked. Clumsily trying to be reassuring. Either way, we're all here for you. X

@Larrydavid we love essays here! I don't have endo, but my gynaecologist thought I did before operating - my appendix had left me with pelvic scarring and things were quite stuck together. My friend has endometriosis and conceived no problem after minor surgery.

MrsEG · 30/05/2019 10:54

@dahlia123 Well That sounds delicious and the milkman just came this morning too! Will definitely try it :)

@LokiCat It’s just so, so frustrating. The GP did say she would call the recurrent MC clinic for us today to see why they sent us there, and I have to go back at 2pm today. But I’m not expecting much.

@ValidUser i’ve had three MCs now, so being referred, but it’s taking a long time and I’m just getting mixed messages everywhere I turn. The hospital told us to see the GP as they could do initial tests - and they didn’t seem to know what we were talking about. Just feel like I’m taking one step forwards and two back.
Good luck with your trigger!!

Lozzlepop · 30/05/2019 11:06

@Bettythecat don't apologise we are all so happy for you, I have found myself feeling nothing but happiness for friends that have recently found out they are expecting or had babies 🙂Don't worry about the cat hair I hoover every couple of days and still there's hair so dunno why i bother! skips to make a coffee whilst smiling at your news

@ELW85 I will see what I can do, thats the morning we fly out so hoping for some good flying conditions 🤞🏻

@MrsEG oh hun I really feel for you its such a crappy situation to be in especially if nobody is giving you answers i hope you get your RCMappointment soon and things can start to move in the right direction. I know there's nothing that I can say that will make any of this better but please remember we are all here for you anytime you need to chat......and you know what if you feel like having Galaxy for breakfast I would say F*Ck it and do it - you only live once so do whatever you need to perk yourself up! ❤️

@ValidUser oooooh fingers crossed lovely 👌🏻

purplefig · 30/05/2019 11:09

Warning: INCOMING ESSAY

@Bettythecat OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Epic news!!! I'm so, so, so chuffed for you and wishing you a very healthy 9 months my lovely. So lovely of you to share what you did differently / dosages etc too. I suspect I have a short LP so if confirmed, I'll consider a trip to H&B I reckon. Re: whether or not to carry on taking - you could hop over to the pregnancy thread and ask the women in there? Some of them are super clued up! Oh and I am constantly covered in some kind of pet hair. I also think you raise a great point about alcohol/coffee/blaming ourselves.

@ValidUser Ooo exciting - keep us posted! My fingers are still metaphorically crossed for you!!

@LokiCat thank you! It was relaxing and accu was too. How was your early evening? Since the festival I've been shattered and going to bed at 9pm hahaa.

@ELW85 good to 'see' you too lovely! Sorry to hear you're out - this could be the cycle though!! I was annoyingly away the day of ovulation so don't have a super neat chart....the silver lining if no BFP this month...I get to complete a full chart??! Your mental health course sounds so interesting, I love psychology too (though know nothing of any substance). Any cool revelations?

@Lozzlepop When are you off?! Not remotely envious. Nuh uh.

@Larrydavid Never apologise for an essay!! Good news you got the positive OPKs, that's got to be a great sign. I've started temping this cycle to try and give me a concrete date for ovulation, which is quite useful.

@ImMeantToBeWorking I remember a few of these threads ago (maybe 11 or 12!) I bought up the issue of Emotional Labour in the context of TTC and it definitely resonated with most of the people on here! e.g. it's typically women who do all the research / buy the stuff / do the testing / remind their partners to take their vits. In addition to it all going on inside of our bodies, it can be pretty emotionally taxing. Like you say, I think a good honest chat with the partner is a step in the right direction.

@MrsEG Please don't apologise - this thread is for everyone and all their various moods and days! First things first, you demolish that bar of galaxy for breakfast. Secondly, I am so sorry for the shite care you have received so far. It's absolutely heartbreaking to read and you deserve so much better. The more I read, the more it seems like most GPs are all pretty useless when it comes to fertility. Can you ring up the consultant at the EPU and discuss the low dose aspirin? They should be able to check for you. Shocking that you've received completely opposite advice from people supposedly in the know. Thirdly, sending you a big old squishy hug over the internet. You go easy on yourself and even if you can't bring yourself to do any fun bucket list activities, you could do some basic self-care stuff for yourself. I always find a walk in nature can help, or failing that, a second bar of galaxy.

All OK here today. I had accu last night. I don't find it painful but I don't really feel anything either, so I'm not sure how long I'll carry on for. I also find it quite hard to relax (and I'm normally 10/10 at relaxing lol). I'm still keeping up with the smoothies (really have developed a taste for them now) and have returned to PregnacarePee™ after a break at the festival.

Larrydavid · 30/05/2019 11:13

@ValidUser ahh good to know. I don't know anyone else with it so have been checking boards but tbh it looks like it can take months to conceive whether or not you have it. Will stay optimistic for as long as possible!

@dahlia123 love this milk and chocolate tip. This is totally happening soon!

@MrsEG - I'm sorry you're having a crappy day.

ValidUser · 30/05/2019 11:47

@MrsEG ah I'm sorry - I didn't know. It's awful to hear it's taking so long to get help. That's all really crappy and please always, always feel free to vent here. X
