Normal Period then Brown Spotting BFP

Has anyone experienced this?

I13 days ago had a period that lasted 5 days, used a moon cup and that was 1/2 full each time I checked. For 2 days before and after I had brown spotting (took a test 2 and 1 day before which was negative). But yesterday CD12 brown spotting with mucosy bits in every time I wiped, never had this before and had boob ache. So I took a cheapy test when I got home to "put my mind at rest" and it was positive (quite strongly given how faint they can be) Took 2 more with same urine. All the same. So I dug the FRER out of the cupboard was was a BFP too.

I'm so confused, I had a normal period. No sex since mid April.
Also I'm now concerned about the spotting. Waiting for a call back from 111 and I have convinced myself I have an ectopic now 😕

Hi all,

Just back from the EPU who confirmed 6w miscarriage.

Their test showed negative with my FMU so they didn't bother to scan me etc. I haven't tested today.

I didn't have much hope but it's good I know where I stand. I'm bloody exhausted probably from all the worry and probably because I have been bleeding twice in the last 2 weeks.

Thanks sooo much for all your support. This thread has been a real life line xxx

So sorry OP Sad wish it could’ve been good news for you. I’m pleased you did end up with an answer though, to take some of the weight off your shoulders Sad the not knowing is the worst part

Jeds55 · 15/05/2019 14:54

Sorry to hear your news. It's no wonder that you're exhausted after the rollercoaster of emotions you've been through. Look after yourself xxx

Claire78564 · 15/05/2019 15:05

I’m sorry to hear this :( I know how hard it can be. You should try to take some time for yourself. Just remember that you conceived so your body knows how! At that stage it’s most likely a problem when the baby rather than you. I know it doesn’t help much but you have got your answer and I hope next time is better xx

pinkoi · 15/05/2019 15:26

@Claire78564 yes I have my answer and while it's sad I do feel better for knowing.

I also realised that 2/3weeks ago (around the time of conception) I was exposed to slapped cheek syndrome which increases risk of miscarriage in early pregnancy. I'll never know if it was a factor but like you say. I know that everything does work and we can try again.

Thanks Xxx

Aw yeah I know but if there’s any good news with this, you can try again straight away. The doctor I saw said that you don’t need to wait for another period so if you feel ready then go for it. I would try not to spend too much time dwelling on why, I’ve spent countless hours doing the same thing. hugs

Mistymeow · 15/05/2019 17:58

I’m really sorry to hear the news wasn’t good. I hope you’re ok and recovering. Sending lots of love x

ChikiTIKI · 15/05/2019 18:40

Oh no I'm so sorry :(

The exhaustion of MC and extra bleeding is awful. Please rest lots and take care of yourself.

I thought I was doing ok after my MC and then I had 4 heavy periods in 7 weeks. It was knackering and took a long time to recover from. It's an extreme kind of tiredness. Might be worth getting your iron checked when it's finished.

Thinking of you hope you will be alright xxx

Ellikopter · 15/05/2019 19:01

@pinkoi sorry to hear of this news, like everyone says your body can get pregnant so least you know you'll conceive just one of them things hun it wasn't meant to be this time round. Look after yourself take some time to be with your man too. Before you know it you'll be back in game and you posting pics of your positive test :-) xx

pinkoi · 15/05/2019 19:29

Thankyou so much everyone.

I did do a test just to confirm it to myself with the same type of test I had been using that it was negative but my cheapie one step ones are still just as positive as they were on Friday before the red bleeding started.

I'd like to see a negative test before we try again.
So I guess it's just a waiting game.

Xxx

Well that sounds sensible. We got s negative two week after the mc. I’m sure things will settle for you soon ❤️ Xx

pinkoi · 19/05/2019 23:01

Hey all - just wanted to say - thanks for getting me through this.

I just got an frer with only the faintest shadow on.

I'm so relieved that my body is sorting itself out! The uncertainty has been the worst.

So much love
Xxx
