Hi everyone! I’ve started a new thread as we are dangerously close to 1000 posts in the last one! I’ll add a link to it now :) Here’s hoping it’s a lucky one!

I can see a line @MrsEG!!! Congratulations!

Congratulations to @CB87 too!

Fingers crossed for you @1990shopefulftm

@Veevee457 I get EWCM but don't think there's been a month where I haven't ovulated but have seen it. Last month I had more days of it than usual and ovulated a bit late I think.

Fivebyfive2 · 10/05/2019 08:05

@MrsEG, I'm usually not good at squinting but I see something on both... Would you be able to stand to wait a couple of days, maybe Sunday morning, to test again?? Ps, I actually did a little excited yelp when I saw your pic!! Xx

PaintingOwls · 10/05/2019 08:05

MrsEG I can see a line too! Congratulations!!!!! Flowers

flossy12 · 10/05/2019 08:09

Aww congrats! @MrsEG ThanksThanks

michellelouise1982 · 10/05/2019 08:21

Hi ladies, can I please join in too?

Age 37
TTC
Coming into cycle 5

I've got suspected endometriosis (suspected by my GP but gynae has other opinions) so am concerned that I won't be able to conceive! I know I need to start now as I've just turned 37 and so I'm conscious of my age being a bit of a hinderance! Gynae says in reality its after 37 that things can become a bit more difficult. I spent most of my 20s and 30s studying and travelling for a good few years and never gave my fertility a second thought! Anyway I've been tracking my cycle and I've bought conceive plus which I'm hoping will help! Good luck to us all 🤞

cupcakesandglitter · 10/05/2019 08:30

Ahhhh @MrsEG I definitely see a line!!! Tentative congrats, test in a few days and you should have a nice clear line - I didn't even need to squeeze for that!!! Xx

MrsEG · 10/05/2019 08:33

Thanks all, makes me feel better that you can see it!! DH can see it too :) Yep I’m going to test again on sunday and see what that brings up and try not to get too excited in the meantime!

@MrsEG I see a line too!! Xx

MrsEG · 10/05/2019 08:35

@michellelouise1982 Good luck and welcome Michelle, I know many people who had babies in their late 30s and even early 40s so it can definitely happen :) xx

@MrsEG I can see a line on both the photos!! Tentative congratulations! Maybe wait a few days (easier said than done, I know!) to be 100% certain? So pleased for you!

@Lozzlepop I was reliant on Google a lot when trying to figure out when to start TTC again.
Yeah, I had two blood tests 48 hours apart. When I went to EPU for a scan they classed it as a 'pregnancy in an unknown location', so they used blood tests instead to confirm that I had miscarried.

starkid · 10/05/2019 08:39

@MrsEG - ooh exciting, I bet the line will be a lot darker Sunday, good luck! xx

ELW85 · 10/05/2019 08:41

@MrsEG that definitely looks like something to feel happy about, everything crossed for you for Sunday!! 😊

I’m feeling a bit low today if any of you ladies wouldn’t mind giving me your thoughts?
I’m still getting negative OPKs even though if I had a regular cycle this month (25 days) I should be O tomorrow/Sunday.
Until last month, I was regular as clockwork on a 25 day cycle but last month it was longer to 32.
I was convinced it was just honeymoon jet lag causing a later O but if this month is the same, I’m worried there’s some underlying problem that’s causing me to have messed up cycles.

I’m trying to be patient and not overthink things, but I cried this morning. I feel a bit isolated, don’t get me wrong, DH is amazing and really supportive but it’s still not his body so I feel a bit lonely about it.

Sorry for the vent and the negativity in all of the good news we’ve had recently.

michellelouise1982 · 10/05/2019 08:46

@MrsEG thank you, 2 of my good friends are pregnant at the moment, they are 36 and 40 so I'm not overly bothered about my age, its more the other issues! But we can only try!

Will be good to follow other peoples journeys and support them 😊 x

Meenabeena · 10/05/2019 09:12

@MrsEG I see the line. *fingers crossed 😁

@Veevee457 That sort of happened to me last month. I didn't get my usual CM and I got worried but the day I got smiley face on the ovulation stick it started to show but was still way less than normal. I guess if the ovulation stick and temps are saying you are then I'd trust that. xx

Lozzlepop · 10/05/2019 09:20

@LokiCat ahhhh ok that makes sense, I was a bit further on (9 weeks but growth stopped at 7 weeks) so my levels may take longer to drop?

@ELW85 were on BC before honeymoon?

ELW85 · 10/05/2019 10:11

@Lozzlepop hiya - no, I’ve not been on BC, as it never really agreed with me.
I hate being complicated for no apparent reason!!

Thank you for responding 😊

michellelouise1982 · 10/05/2019 10:23

@ELW85 apparently not all women ovulate every month, it doesn't mean anything's wrong, it just is what it is. Could it maybe be that? Do you track your cycle via an app as well, that usually gives you a predicted ovulation window and then you can test just before and after this, as well as all throughout it. Maybe even test daily throughout your cycle, poundland does 5 strips for €1.50, (probably a quid for a box of 5 in the UK) so its not a major financial investment to test daily throughout your cycle to see if you're maybe just out timewise when testing.

purplefig · 10/05/2019 10:26

Morning all! How's everyone doing today? I convinced myself for a good few minutes that it was in fact Thursday today. Love bank holidays, but they do mess with the sched. Now have double the work to get done today! Any nice plans over the weekend? I'm off for afternoon tea and a spa with the husband tomorrow (a birthday present from a friend), looking forward to just relaxing.

@MrsEG Oooo I can see a line too! Why don't you get a digital and test on the weekend to confirm?! How freaking exciting!! What cycle are you on?

@michellelouise1982 Welcome! And for what it's worth, plenty of women manage to get pregnant naturally in their late 30s.

@ELW85 sorry you're feeling low, that's totally understandable. I think we all go through cycles of being ok and upbeat, and then losing patience and feeling a bit down and lonely. I think it's totally normal. I'm 100% with you on the husbands being supportive, but not truly understanding as it's not all going on inside of them. Don't apologise for venting - it's so important to let your feelings out! For what it's worth, I don't think 25 days - 32 days cycles continues your cycle being messed up, it just seems like you ovulated later than normal for some reason. Also OPKs aren't the be all and end all - do you do BBT at all? And have you seen any fertile CM? Also, it sucks, but I don't think it's abnormal to have months where you don't ovulate.

michellelouise1982 · 10/05/2019 10:31

@purplefig, thankyou, 😊 I'm just a worrier and have convinced myself that I'll have some kind of problems😇. I'm sure if I was 10 years younger then I'd have something else to worry about TTC-wise! We've not been trying that long in reality so hopefully I'll get my BFP before long!

ELW85 · 10/05/2019 10:35

Thanks everyone, I really, really appreciate your support and comments 😊

I do BBT as well as this OvaCue thing that we bought in the US which basically measures changes in electrolytes in mucus (I know, it’s rough!) to understand when you shift from follicular to Luteal.
Using that, BBTs and OPKs, it looks like I O’d last month, just about a week later than usual (which I guess is why I had a longer cycle)
Because of massive jet lag from the honeymoon, I just thought it was a one-off.

Now though, if my usual 25 day cycle is back (along with a LP of about 14 days), I’d expect to O tomorrow but I’m getting nothing from OPKs. I thought I had EWCM yesterday but it seems to have disappeared today. BBT is staying low, so I’m just really confused and upset.

Sorry ladies, I’m totally rambling!!

purplefig · 10/05/2019 10:36

@michellelouise1982 exactly - age is just one factor. I'm 28 and neither of us have any obvious issues or health concerns and we're currently on cycle 9! I keep reminding myself that there's about a 20% chance each cycle, so to a point - provided there is nothing wrong - it's kind of a roll of the dice. Also because of your age, you can go and get any checks from the 6 month mark, which is reassuring.

purplefig · 10/05/2019 10:38

*@ELW85 * it's OK, it's a bloody confusing process you're allowed to ramble. It might just be that you're having another longer cycle (i.e. ovulation will be later), or you might not ovulate this cycle. It sucks, but our bodies aren't as precise as we'd like them to be and any number of factors can influence things. E.g. if you've had a stressful time as of late, ovulation might be delayed or skipped.

ELW85 · 10/05/2019 10:59

@purplefig thanks for the response 😊
I’ll try to keep my head up and keep an eye on it.
It feels like I’ve been waiting to get pregnant and now we’re trying, it’s WAY harder than I thought it would be...

purplefig · 10/05/2019 11:03

@ELW85 Well at the very least, you're in good company in this thread! I've been thinking about whether or not I want kids for years, finally came to the conclusion that yes I do. And naively just assumed it would happen at the drop of a hat!! Try and remember that it's pretty normal for it to take up to a year and something like 85% of people conceive within a year.

MrsEG · 10/05/2019 11:29

@purplefig Cycle / month 9 technically - but we had two losses in between (October and Jan). So hence why I don’t want to get too excited just yet. But we really threw everything at it this month - Ava temp tracking, SMEP, Preseed, Pregnacare, I’ve been exercising, ate a sodding Pineapple core when I ovulated... the works!! I honestly think psychologically it helped more than anything else - just made me feel like I was doing all I could!

@ELW85 Sorry to hear you are having a bad one today, happens to us all, believe me! Some days I’d just get so frustrated with it all. Try and take some time for you this weekend - I find a bit of self care works wonders :)
