Hi everyone! I’ve started a new thread as we are dangerously close to 1000 posts in the last one! I’ll add a link to it now :) Here’s hoping it’s a lucky one!

@MrsEG, hi hun! I just have to say I love you and your attitude, I think it's amazing. I really hope you get some answers at the hospital, or at least that they help you to find a way forward xxx

@MrsH497, glad to hear you're home and that you and dh are supporting each other. What kind of tattoo are you thinking of? Another holiday when you're ready sounds like a plan, have some time to relax and treat yourselves xxx

So we hosted a Eurovision party on Saturday. Someone mentions something about a gig in October... Dh says... "I'll go, but she'll be massive by then" !! He even does a sodding hand gesture, to indicate I'll be Big?!! Awkward or what?! 😳🙄😂

Fivebyfive2 · 20/05/2019 18:52

@MrsH497, sorry, cross post, missed your tattoo pic. That looks lovely!! Xxx

Lottiepink · 20/05/2019 18:54

Just another thought caffeine wise, my DH has maybe one coffee a day max, but he sometimes has an energy drink or 2, I feel stupid for not thinking about it logically for so long but chances are that could have a serious impact ttc wise I assume (I'm off to google now) he also eats a relatively healthy diet from what I make lunch and dinner wise, but is very keen on crisps and biscuits and anything sweet including full fat coke 🙈🙈🙈 I have never even thought about that fully 😱😱

purplefig · 20/05/2019 19:00

@MrsH497 what a lovely idea!

@Lottiepink from my frantic googling (hence I am still working!) I have discovered that if you're just starting out, don't worry to much and just get cracking with the obvious stuff e.g. do it at the right time, stop smoking etc. But as more time passes, you might want to consider other lifestyle changes.

For what it's worth, I found this: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5482951/ "The literature suggests that caffeine intake, possibly through sperm DNA damage, may negatively affect male reproductive function."

Lottiepink · 20/05/2019 19:24

@purplefig thanks... time to start the caffeine ban 🙈😂 I'll read that now 😊

MrsEG · 20/05/2019 19:40

@purplefig Thank you lovely, I feel exactly the same about all of you - you guys are the only ones who know all the day to day madness outside of DH!

Thank you @LokiCat @ELW85 bloods went fine and have confirmed the worst; we already knew on Saturday as my HCG dropped right down to 7. She couldn’t believe I’d had a positive ClearBlue the day before but my blood loss was massive so it dropped significantly right away.

Hey @MrsH497 really hope you’re doing okay. I think it’s lovely to mark what you have been through; we have some multicoloured planters to mark our losses. The tattoo is a lovely idea.

@Fivebyfive2 Thanks so much, yes we now have an urgent referral to the recurrent mc clinic but the midwife told us today there’s no reason to not keep trying in the meantime as the tests can take weeks and weeks, so we’re just weighing it up at the moment really. It’s nice to know we’ll be so well looked after now for any subsequent pregnancies too - the nurses we have seen have been phenomenal. Oh gosh - so has DH totally outed you then?!

@MrsEG hope you are doing ok! Hope the hospital went well!

MrsH497 that’s a lovely idea, we planted a rosebush in our garden, really hoping it will flower this summer 🤞🏻It’s nice to do something to remember ❤️

ELW85 · 20/05/2019 20:47

@Purplefig - just back in from CrossFit now! I’ve been doing HIIT off and on for years but got DH into circuits and CrossFit in the wedding run up, so training for about 6 months now! Tonight was brutal but awesome :)
You’ll get back into your lifting, you’ll just be cursing yourself along the way, haha!
I love what you said about your DH - I can totally relate; I’d rather be with mine than anyone in the world, baby’s or not. ❤️

@MrsEG - that sounds really traumatic but it sounds like they’re going to take great care of you now. Totally don’t blame you for weighing options up; keep your head up my dear, you’ll get through it all.

Fivebyfive2 · 20/05/2019 21:37

@MrsEG, I'm so glad to hear they're looking after you xx

Well! They knew I'd miscarried before, but I Think we managed to salvage it... I just added really quick that we're hoping to catch soon so aren't making too many far off plans!! Not sure if they believed it, but they probably won't say anything until we confirm it later down the road. MEN!! It's a good thing he's cute 😂🥰

1990shopefulftm · 21/05/2019 07:55

finally got af this morning, i m thinking perhaps stress delayed it so i m going to try and not let work get to me this month. Plan to DTD more this month and am trying to be a bit healthier food wise but i don't think anything will stop me having cakes and biscuits.

ValidUser · 21/05/2019 08:03

@1990shopefulftm we need cakes and biscuits!

1990shopefulftm · 21/05/2019 08:07

@Validuser Indeed :) Bakings one of my very few hobbies, cant give it up.

Dollywilde · 21/05/2019 08:23

Sorry that AF has arrived @1990shopefulftm Sad sending lots of virtual cake Cake

Thinking of you both still @mrsh497 and @mrseg x

@fivebyfive2 oh gosh well done DH!! Haha. The excitement getting to him then?

Still feeling rotten with the cystitis so working from home today so I can pee 50 million times without our receptionist wondering what’s going on My cat is providing hot water bottle duties so that’s keeping me cheery. Toying with getting an emergency appointment for some antibiotics but not sure if they know we are in the 2WW whether they’d give them to me?

ValidUser · 21/05/2019 08:31

@Dollywilde they should if they're needed. (I'm a doctor who has been on antibiotics during the tww and who has prescribed antibiotics for women who were pregnant or trying to conceive.)

Look after yourself. X

Dollywilde · 21/05/2019 08:53

Thanks @validuser, that’s super helpful! I wouldn’t usually try and get them for a minor infection but I’m in and out of the bathroom, it really stings and don’t seem to have had any improvement since Sunday morning - might see if I can get appointment and go from there Smile

ValidUser · 21/05/2019 09:05

Yes @Dollywilde that sounds unpleasant! Been there 2 months ago.

PippaPug · 21/05/2019 09:07

@MrsH497 - A Tattoo seems really lovely, where would you have it?

@Dollywilde - sorry to hear your in pain still hopefully the doctor can give you something which will help you even though your in the 2WW.

@MrsEG - hope the hospital appt went well Flowers

@1990shopefulftm - Cake and biscuits all round Cake

I went home last night and I ended up staying the night and commuted back even earlier then normal to get to my normal start time of today 😴 I did a OPK last night and it was fading (even though the clear blue was a static smily Face yesterday morning) and did one just now which is negative - think it may of been a bit pointless to go home, but never mind Smile

purplefig · 21/05/2019 09:07

Morning all! Another day, another smoothie! I actually quite like them now Blush. How's everyone's Tuesday going so far?

@MrsEG Glad you agree - we're so fortunate to have this space! I'm also so glad you've got an urgent referral - hopefully you'll get some answers, though it's a shame the tests can take weeks and weeks. You guys have been through so much, it would nice to just have some concrete info. Do you think you will keep trying in the meantime?

@Lottiepink What do you reckon?! I had a chat with DH last night and we've decided we're quitting next Tuesday. If I'm in too foul a mood I'll stay off of here!

@ELW85 Well done for going when you didn't feel like it. Did you enjoy GoT? I don't watch it but it seems like people are pisssssed. Lifting - even just the bar Blush felt really good, so definitely looking forward to getting back to it.

@Fivebyfive2 Oh god!! Good save by you at least Grin

@Dollywilde sorry to hear you're still dealing with cystitis. Did you try the bicarb tip? It's not some old wives tale - The British Association of Urological Surgeons even recommend it: www.tsft.nhs.uk/media/43727/Cystitis.pdf - I've found it always offers relief after 10-30 mins and usually, for me, makes it go away.

ELW85 · 21/05/2019 09:08

Morning all

My IC early detection tests arrived yesterday and I couldn’t help myself this morning.
I get that it’s about 6.5DPO and I shouldn’t be doing it but apparently my will power isn’t great before 7am and I got a BFN.

So now I feel stupid. Can anyone tell me off to put me in my place, please?! Confused

ELW85 · 21/05/2019 09:11

@Purplefig -GoT was awesome, but this season has just felt really rushed and lazy in terms of the writing.
DH has threatened to cut off Now TV as it’s finished, but I need my Billions fix, haha!

I’m excited for you getting back into training! It’s nice to get back into a routine with it and it’ll definitely take your mind off all of this!

I hope your Tuesday is going well so far? It’s a glorious day here, so even if I am in a mood with myself, at least the weather is cheering me up!

purplefig · 21/05/2019 09:21

@ELW85 Don't beat yourself up - it's so easy to get sucked into early testing. I did it for the first 6 or so cycles but I was getting so down I decided I'm only going to test if I get to day 35 (longest cycle to date) and no AF. Somehow it's easier to deal with AF than a stark white BFN.

If you decide to go down that route (and I must say, it's really helped my mental health!) maybe get your partner to hide them until an agreed on test date?? And, for what it's worth, I'm sure you don't need to tell me that it's practically impossible to get a BFP at 6.5DPO (lol love the accuracy!).

Lovely weather here today too - shame to be stuck indoors working! Enjoy the sunshine if you can Grin.

ELW85 · 21/05/2019 09:32

@Purplefig - thanks for that lovely message, you’re so right in all you say and it’s great advice!
Off to another meeting now. Reckon I can get my laptop outside? Smile x

FlapJackered · 21/05/2019 09:55

Just checking in to see how everyone is but I stopped reading when I saw GoT talk! 🙈 DH is away this week so I can't see the final episode until Friday, which means I need to be a hermit and not look at the internet for the next few days!
Not much to report as having a super chilled one this cycle. No temping or opking yet, going to wait until just before ovulation is due on Friday to start testing/temping. My TSH (thyroid) has skyrocketed so they have upped my meds which is grand but probably means this cycle is unlikely to be a winner.

@MrsEG that is good news they are getting on with referring you. I really hope you get some answers. ❤️ I hope you are doing ok and have some good support around you. X

Lottiepink · 21/05/2019 09:58

Morning everyone 😊

@purplefig It's very complex isn't it! I didn't look into it all as much as I should have but bought the decaf tea bags and ordered caffeine free diet Pepsi so worth a try 🤣 I don't think I'm as addicted to caffeine, as it's more in coffee. I've never really felt the affects of it before. But who knows, cutting it out I might find it hard with the headaches etc. The tea is pretty tasty though, I can taste a slight difference... don't know how tho 🤣🤣

MrsH497 · 21/05/2019 10:33

Morning ladies we have landed home. Very mixed emotions here happy to be home, holiday wasn't quite as planned obviously and still very emotional. Tattoo was planning wrist or hip x
