Hi everyone! I’ve started a new thread as we are dangerously close to 1000 posts in the last one! I’ll add a link to it now :) Here’s hoping it’s a lucky one!

Small update - my gynaecologist is doing a hycosy instead of getting the hsg repeated. So I might even know tomorrow if I need ivf or not. This is progress. This is good.

purplefig · 15/05/2019 16:39

@ValidUser excellent news - chuffed your making progress and getting closer to an answer!

Fivebyfive2 · 15/05/2019 17:57

@Validuser, that's really good, I hope your appointment goes well and you get all the info you need xx

This will sound so random ladies, but I hope you won't think I'm too barmy!! Since coming back from Wales and getting our bfp, my cat has delivered to us no fewer than 3 birds and 3 mice... He's always been a hunter, but never this extreme!! It's probably the time of year or whatever... Surely he doesn't 'know' I'm pregnant and bringing me extra 'presents'?! Xx

purplefig · 15/05/2019 18:00

@Fivebyfive2 I really believe animals are more in-tune with us than we think they are. Better develop an appetite for mouse, lest he get offended Grin

starkid · 15/05/2019 18:30

@ValidUser - wow that's good that you'll be able to know so quickly, bit scary though that sort of info possibly coming so soon, fx for you xxx

I got my scan date through, 3 weeks time and local, so really pleased it isn't months and months away Smile

purplefig · 15/05/2019 18:42

@starkid great news! Looks like lots of you are making progress which must feel positive. In between work, I've spent swathes of today researching short LPs. Need to confirm mine definitely is first Grin

MrsEG · 15/05/2019 18:51

@ValidUser Oh That is fantastic news! I hope you get all the info you need!

@Fivebyfive2 Ha! Our DOG has killed a few birds (he is a husky cross so I think he’s a bit wild...) - only ever in the garden, and if they’re dumb enough to fly towards his mouth then so be it. But he often brings them to the back door for me, still flinching. I try to put on my best Attenborough voice and tell myself that it’s the circle of life, but it’s truly horrifying!

@starkid Oh Great news, I really hope your scan goes well!

So much going on on the thread today feel like I’ve missed a lot! But re: telling people you are TTC, after our MMC our family obviously found out and now they do my head in. Always watching to see if I’ll be drinking (Mum has offered me a glass of wine at 11am in recent weeks) and trying to trip me up with food - once at Mums she laid out a spread and it was literally just pate, smelly soft cheese, shell fish - basically ‘let’s see if she eats it and if not she must be up the duff!’ She is insane. Luckily they don’t ask much - although I honestly think that would be less annoying!

We have an early scan booked for 7 weeks. I have been taking a step away from MN and the internet in general today as the nerves have really kicked in since it was booked in. I’ve never wanted to wish a few weeks away so fast in my life. But just keeping everything crossed that when we go it’s a very happy day. It’s the day before my birthday too so it has to be!

Hope everyone is doing superb x

@Purplefig - there is loads that can be done to lengthen a luteal phase, and Vitex is meant to be brilliant at this, so give it a few cycles to definitely determine LP and try not to stress about it (I know it’s easier said than done!!)

@MrsEG - I really hope you’re ok, I totally get that it’s going to be a really nerve racking time, but keep your head up 😊 I’m sure it’ll be good news and we’re all here rooting for you! X

1990shopefulftm · 15/05/2019 19:29

@purplefig it's dhs birthday so got a takeaway on its way. I really wasnt expecting it to happen in the first month and going to take it more seriously this month.

Mirana · 15/05/2019 21:58

Hi guys... Completely mental of me, but I did another test tonight... And got a BFP?? I'm only 9dpo... It came up within a minute... These are not early tests, they're not meant to be used until your missed period... Very confused and shocked! Have some FRER for the morning... Has this actually happened to me???

TTC 1st Baby - Thread 17!
ValidUser · 15/05/2019 22:07

@Mirana that's wonderful!

Everyone, thanks for looking at my way too early tests in spite of my dodgy remaining tube. Infertility is tough, but I have hope. You're a great bunch of people! ❤️

Lottiepink · 15/05/2019 22:11

@starkid need to have that talk I think. I've took most the ttc journey alone, I've heard the guys get the pressure/stage fright and mine hasn't do preferred to keep it that way 😂 obs he knows the crack in terms of months of ttc etc. Just don't want him to have a finishing issue 🙈😂 I don't mind the conceive on certain occasions 🤣

@purplefig hahaha OMG that's made my night 🤣🤣 defo the ttc not the lube 😂

@purplefig @PaintingOwls
Thought I would reply to this as one message...
😂😂😂 no don't need the permission haha!!
Issue is my mam and me are really close, I see her every day, and my close family (sister and brother who have kids I also see everyday) we all live crazy close to each other and in the same doctors 🙈🤣 kind of makes it harder in a way when I brushed it off for the last year as if I'm not ready 😱😱
@PaintingOwls oh dear hope you are ok about it all, that's defo normal and just going out on a weekend could've been far worse!!

@ValidUser that is fab news!!

Lottiepink · 15/05/2019 22:13

@starkid sorry meant the conceive plus!

MrsEG · 16/05/2019 07:26

@DayDreamer1707 Good luck this morning!! 🤞🏻

@Mirana I think I see something on that but I’m not sure - a FRER will be much clearer for you so the very best of luck!

OP posts:
DayDreamer1707 · 16/05/2019 07:33

Thanks @MrsEG the OH wants to wait to do a FRER till Saturday so I'm definitely late. Don't think they understand how hard it is 😂. We both just keep saying it doesn't seem really. I've been using my IC everyday though. I did one yesterday evening and that was the darkest one yet 🙊.

TTC 1st Baby - Thread 17!
DayDreamer1707 · 16/05/2019 07:35

Also @MrsEG what did you say to get an early scan? I would want one but didn't think they allowed it? Xx

Hope all goes well @ValidUser!!

I think I can see something, I think it's hard to see proper because of the reflection @Mirana

orangeloo · 16/05/2019 07:50

Morning ladies, I'm annoyed and frustrated this morning. Opk'd with clearblue advanced and the test had an error straight away. So o saved some wee and grabbed another holder and test sticks. The one I had been using errored again and the new one said low fertility even though I've been getting high for 4 days. Now I don't know what's going on and I need to know Ov for obvious reasons and I'm due another blood test. I'm gonna try again at work but I really don't know if I can hold my pee for four hours!? Confused. Sorry for the long boring rant. Lesson learnt. I'm gonna buy some ic's as a back up and always use a pee receptacle. Have a good day and more successful opk's than me.

purplefig · 16/05/2019 08:27

@Mirana oooo could be!! Keep us posted with the FRER results - how exciting!! Grin

@DayDreamer1707 looks very positive to me! You can book a private early scan, but I don't think they do them on the NHS.

@orangeloo If it's any consolation, I find OPKs incredibly stressful and absolutely cannot hold off on weeing for 4 hours, so I've mostly stopped doing them. Not helpful as I appreciate you need to know for bloods!

MrsEG · 16/05/2019 08:28

@DayDreamer1707 I don’t know how you’re holding out!! Haha, I found an old CB digital yesterday in an old pack of 2 and even did that this morning 🙊 DH is just like YOU NEED TO STOP haha!
I think the fact I’ve have two MC’s bumped me up for an early scan but also the notes re: my severe anxiety after the MMC (I was signed off for 5 weeks in the end) helped too. She did say they can cause more anxiety than they alleviate but I said I’d just rather know as soon as I can that there is actually a baby in there! She isn’t giving me blood tests for the same reason but I’m not too bothered about those - they don’t tell you much more than a test can after all.

OP posts:
MrsEG · 16/05/2019 08:35

@DayDreamer1707 Worth noting too that I think if you don’t ask, you don’t get. I only found out the NHS would offer it from a friend who had a late MC. She demanded one and got it. So I did ask, and I think with my history on file, got a yes. But I’d have booked privately anyway if not. 8 weeks is a long time to wait when you’re an absolute bag of nerves!!

Dollywilde · 16/05/2019 08:51

Morning everyone. Feeling a bit sunnier today - DH and I dtd last night and had a good chat about it all. I’ve agreed to stop doing OPKs because they’re getting me in a tizz (totally agree with you @purplefig), and we’re going to have a shot at 3 nights in a row tomorrow and Friday. If we don’t catch this month I may move on to temping but I think like many things in my life I’m trying to go at it full throttle and while that’s great when I’m studying/progressing my career, it can be a drawback with this sort of thing.

@orangeloo it’s so frustrating isn’t it! I remember thinking before ttc why doesn’t everyone use them, it must make life so simple... 🙄

Fingers crossed for you both @mirana and @daydreamer1707 - I am so crap at waiting too! (couldn’t you guess Grin )

Jooloo11 · 16/05/2019 08:56

@orangeloo - the new one was always going to show low fertility because they always do the the first time you use them, even if it's your peak day. Very annoying that your usual one broke though. Can you pop to boots or something and get some normal opks which they day to use in the afternoon anyway, so you don't lose the data from the day?

LokiCat · 16/05/2019 08:57

Morning ladies! 7dpo today, no symptoms just lots of bloating!

@Mirana I can see a hint of a line! Good luck for the FRER this morning!
So sorry to read about your grandad. I hope your mum is recovering well from her surgery.

@ValidUser that sounds brilliant that you'll be get to find out so soon! Hope all goes well today x

@DayDreamer1707 that line progression is looking so great! You've got a lot more willpower than i do to hold off using the FRER till Saturday! Good luck!

@orangeloo that is so frustrating.. when I was using the OPKs this cycle, they were very strong and high in the morning but low when I tested after work.. they just caused more confusion than answers! I hope you manage to get a better result later today!

@MrsEG very pleased for your early scan. I hope all goes well and you're feeling alright! X

ELW85 · 16/05/2019 08:59

Morning all!

I realise this might make me sound weird, but what are everyone’s thoughts on exercising in the TWW?
I do CrossFit 3 times a week and know which exercises to avoid when pregnant but I’m totally nervous that it’ll affect conception/implantation?

MrsEG · 16/05/2019 09:08

@ELW85 I always have done - I totally understand the nerves but I do; I actually did a very high intensity spin class the day before my BFP this month! There is absolutely no reason not to; your uterus is packed together to tightly so the idea we’ll ‘jiggle’ an embryo about is just nonsense :) Enjoy the exercise - it will do wonders for the TWW anxiety!!
