Spring is in the air and it's time for a new thread!

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping we get some spring BFP luck for all of us!! 🍀🐣🍀🐣

Thanks @BambiOnIce80 I'm not feeling very hopeful today, I swing from being certain I'm upduffed to feeling that I'm absolutely not and it'll never happen again. Grr! As for your timing, @Carley32 is right...in one way it's better to have some swimmers in the bank as it takes them several hours to get to the right place, and they can last for around 5 days I believe? Last time I caught we DTD cd11, got opk positive day 13. Enjoy the spa!

@Carley32 stage fright is a nightmare-been there! Fingers crossed he chills out and will give it a go later.

Catconfusion · 17/03/2019 12:30

Good afternoon everyone, I'm sad to say my BFP didn't stick. I had line progression during the week but severe cramping over the weekend. Tested today as it worried me and got the very faintest of positives on FRER so looking like a very early loss straight after my MMC. I'm not bleeding yet but fully expect it soon. Im over the 4 week mark so would expect a more solid line by now, especially since I had stronger positives earlier on. Its upsetting but I'm trying to look on the bright side that I seem to conceive easily. Just hoping the two losses are not a sign I can't make one stick. Anyway back to square one! XX

Laney79 · 17/03/2019 17:35

Sorry to hear that @Catconfusion it's just so unfair. You're not alone in the fear of not being able to have a healthy one stick...it's one of my biggest fears too xxx

CNizzle · 17/03/2019 17:48

@Catconfusion sorry to hear this. It's sh*te isn't it, this ttc lark. Hope your partner is looking after you. We're here for a moan if you need, it's all I seem to be doing these days.

Catconfusion · 17/03/2019 17:50

Thanks @Laney79 It all felt a bit too good to be true: healing so quick from ERPC, ovulating and conceiving again. Now I'm just wondering if chromosomal or body was still recovering.

Thanks for your support. It can be such a traumatic business trying to bring new life into the world! Xx

Catconfusion · 17/03/2019 17:56

Thanks @CNizzle . I lucked out in the husband department. He continues to be a rock, just wish I'd met him years ago when things might have been simpler. Saying that I wasn't ovulating properly in my early 30s due to polycystic ovaries so might have still had troubles. The cysts are gone now so that's a plus. Guess at least we have an 100% conception rate. Just hope we get a healthy one to stick soon. Thanks for your support! Xx

Weathergirl1 · 17/03/2019 18:56

Picture attached... Just done another One Step after reading another thread on here that had a link to a site that reckons FMU is a misnomer for early tests. The line is definitely darker than it was this morning. I'm now starting to feel a bit panicked (and guilty for feeling like that given everyone else on here who wants to see their own BFP).

Really sorry to hear that @Catconfusion - it really is one hurdle after the next in this malarky - I'm definitely not counting any chickens 😧. It's so good to hear you have a supportive OH though. I've been with my OH about 16 years in total and he's always been my rock. No doubt people will probably wonder why we haven't TTC before now, but it's not always about having the right person but the right situation too (including a fear of the big 40 looming on the horizon 😳).

@Amanda81 I agree with @Laney79 - I have definitely read somewhere that the digital ones can be weird especially after a week or so. 🤞 For the blood test - I completely understand why you'd be expecting the worst though given what you've been through before 💐

Sorry to everyone going through hope then loss. What an emotional rollercoaster.

Simpler times for me. AF has rocked up again. I continue my record of perfectly timed AFs!

Thanks for the info @Laney79 that's a good thousand quid cheaper than I thought it would be.

That looks pretty positive @Weathergirl1 hope it sticks.

Catconfusion · 17/03/2019 19:28

Thanks @Weathergirl1 I think you're right about right person and right situation. I'm nearly 40 and can feel time ebbing away which makes everything seem so urgent.

It looks like congratulations are in order. Don't feel bad about your good news. New like this keeps everyone else hoping I'm sure. I've got my fingers crossed it sticks for you. xx

WrexhamBuxom · 17/03/2019 19:29

@Catconfusion I am so sorry. I cannot even imagine how awful it must be to see such positive evidence and see it fade away bit by bit. Prayers that things will start going your way.

Tentative congrats for Weathergirl1. I know you are cautious and taking things one moment at a time, but I hope this is the beginning of many positive blessings for you.

Laney79 · 17/03/2019 20:00

@79andnotout to be fair the guy I was emailing to sort it was really good, very helpful! I basically got as many tests on the nhs as they would do then a combo of medichecks finger prick ones and the Nuffield ones. I've probably spent £300-£350 total? I had the thyroid one from medichecks and an extra vitamin d from them too. It's not a small amount of money but it helps me feel more in control and helps put my mind at rest that I'm doing all I can.

@Weathergirl1 looks good! Keeping everything crossed for you! What DPO are you? Xxx

CNizzle · 17/03/2019 20:41

@79andnotout congratulations on you exceedingly regular cycles(sarcasm) & commiserations on the arrival of AF 😕
@Catconfusion I feel that rush too less than a year til 40. I was listening to Cerys matthews on the radio in the car, and she had a poet reading a poem about a baby's heartbeat in utero. I was absolutely bawling listening to it. Part because it was beautiful, and part sadness; and now for some reason I find myself watching One Born. Why do I do it to myself?!

79andnotout · 17/03/2019 21:02

Ha thanks @CNizzle -yes I'm really enjoying the amazing fertility supposedly associated with regular cycles. Sigh.

Weathergirl1 · 17/03/2019 21:40

Thanks @WrexhamBuxon

@Laney79 11dpo according to Natural Cycles but I think I'm 12 (as other ovulation symptoms at the time). AF not due until Tuesday or Wednesday as I have a 14/15 day LP.

Bizarrely Natural Cycles is now counting me from Ovulation as 'Cycle Days' and is now telling me I'm a 'Preggo Cycler' since I told it about the BFP. I've been using the app for nearly three years and I've mostly found it fab, but this is:

  1. Confusing about the 'cycle day'
  2. Weird that I now can't see when AF might be due if this doesn't stick
  3. All a bit naff using 'preggo' - It just doesn't seem very serious for something that's an official app! 🙄 (Whereas I didn't mind getting messages suggesting getting 'between the sheets' in fertile week so I don't think I'm a complete party pooper 🤷)
Russkispy · 17/03/2019 22:30

@Catconfusion really sorry to read thus. It's just shit and not fair!
@Weathergirl1 tentative congratulations. Hope it sticks. Everything crossed for you

PixieN · 18/03/2019 08:06

I’m so sorry @Catconfusion 😔 Flowers

Congratulations @Weathergirl - fingers crossed it sticks 🤞💕

Hope everyone is o.k. Not been on the thread for a bit as work has been really busy and seem to have spent most of my weekend marking, planning and getting ready for a lesson observation 😝 It’s coming up to fw and i’m shattered before even thinking about ttc.

I’ve been with my DH for ages too and sometimes feel we’ve left it too late. We watched the episode of ‘Greys Anatomy’ last night (towards the end of season 3) where Addison has fertility tests and is told there’s no chance. Found it really upsetting, especially after my friend’s news and feel that time really isn’t on my side.

My DH has his SA this week and is feeling anxious so i’m worried he’ll get stage fright. 🤞for him x

Catconfusion · 18/03/2019 09:07

Thanks @PixieN and @Russkispy we just can't believe it's happened again. We've spent most of the first five months of marriage dealing with debilitating nausea during the last pregnancy which ended in MMC and Pregnancy loss! I'm sure I'll feel better when it's less raw! Xx

Carley32 · 18/03/2019 16:41

I’m so so sorry @catconfusion 💐 xx

🤞 for you @weathergirl1 tentative congratulations xx

What day is the SA @PixiN. I’m sure he will be fine. 🤞

Stage fright is becoming quite the issue with us and I kind of lost the will this week, it hasn’tade me feel great in the past but I feel I’m slowly losing any confidence I have through it!
This ttc really does mess with your head. So didn’t dtd and probably not going to as we’re not feeling as if we’re in a great place at the moment. Trying times 😣.

Carley32 · 18/03/2019 16:42

Oh and CD21 2 days passes having a bfp OPK and I seem to have a fair bit of ewcm! 🤔

Catconfusion · 18/03/2019 16:46

Thanks @Carley32 It's rubbish but we'll be ok! xx

Karen1234567 · 18/03/2019 16:51

Hi I've no clue what I'm doing but today I did a clearblue pregnancy test with weeks indicator it came up with 2-3 but unlike the leaflet it didnt and still doesnt say pregnant 2-3 week please help if anyone knows this is a major major shock

Laney79 · 19/03/2019 06:04

Well that's another month closer to 40 and still not pregnant again. 12dpo today and negative on a frer. Really upset again. I'm petrified we won't fall again after the two losses. Last time we caught on the third cycle post miscarriage and the two I had were 26 days. This time it took 53 days to get my first period after my loss, then cycles have been 35, 28, 24, and this is currently day 30 for this cycle. Think I'm going to pay for the female hormone check test to try and see what's going on. Sad

ness2003 · 19/03/2019 16:22

Hey, ladies! Can I join too? Not my first, but the last one was almost 18 years ago. I am "ancient" by numbers :-), and although I don't feel like that, BUT - I forgot everything, how and what I suppose to feel or not feel! - so, need some help and advise.

BambiOnIce80 · 20/03/2019 07:50

Sorry to hear AF is here @79andnotout and about your fainter FRER @Catconfusion 😔 Same to you for your BFN @Laney79, but there's still a bit of hope until AF arrives.x

Did you get your results from your GP @Carley32, or have I gotten my dates wrong again?!x

Welcome @ness2003 👋 Always nice to have/give some more support 😊

Apologies for the radio silence this week - had some unexpected/unwelcome news. Long story short (ish 😬), after believing my mum died from a 'freak accident' all my life, it turns out it was actually due to a heart condition that caused sudden cardiac arrest. Several of her cousins have died young (20-39), seemingly from the same thing but I never made the link because I wasn't told about her heart condition. I've been to the GP's on and off through the years for random attacks of dizziness/faintness and nothing's ever really been found except low blood pressure. I've never been offered an ECG, but if I'd been told about this heart condition then I'm sure I would have. Crazy busy at work for the next 48 hours (zero chance of time off), so can't get to the GP with this new info until Friday at the earliest (if my boss takes pity on me and let's me work from home, that is 🙄). The threat of sudden cardiac failure has certainly taken my mind off of TTC... glass half full, right?! 🤪
