TTC after the pill? Ugh!

Hi guys

I’m really new to this and nervous about posting my own thread so please forgive me if I’ve posted in the wrong place!

I came off the pill (cerelle) 41 days ago - 16th January and since then haven’t had AF or withdrawal bleed.

I feel sick every single morning, cramps constantly for a month since coming off, mood swings and worst of all bloated ALL THE TIME and put on over a stone since stopping the pill! (I really don’t have room to do that!)!

Took a preg test this evening and negative.

Please is anyone in the same situation? Feel like I’m going crazy and although my DP is on board he’s more ‘wait and see, stop stressing’!

Hi girls, didn't want to read and run. I got married last year and stopped my pill in the beginning of October. I had a withdrawal bleed straight after (as usual when changing packs), but didn't have a period after that until 16th of December or so. Second period was end of Jan, so it was really irregular and long (prior to being on the pill for 5+ years, I had a copper coil in f

SunStruck · 30/03/2019 12:47

Sorry accidentally posted! I had a copper coil for over 8 years and had regular periods (no hormones so I know I was regular), so I was worried about the fact my period is so irregular. Went to an OBGYN and she prescribed me dydrogesterone to take to induce the period I had at end of Jan (took the pills for 7 days and for the period 7 days after).

This was the last cycle, and I've been charting as well as using OPK, I ovulated last month as well as this month (currently in TWW).

Could you guys get this pill prescribed? Worked for me!

AllTheGlitter · 30/03/2019 13:54

@sunstruck ooh good news that you’ve got your periods back! I’m thinking of going to the doctors as has now been 10.5 weeks but just recently I’ve had massive changes in CM and also really sore nipples which have never been a problem for me before. Think will take a test and a OPK tomorrow and if BFN on both I’ll book in.

Beclaboo · 30/03/2019 15:58

@sunstruck oh that’s interesting to know I have something to follow up on if there is no luck further down the line thank you!

@alltheglitter I am keeping my fingers crossed these sore nipples are a sign of something for you!! There’s a sentence I never thought I’d type Grin

SunStruck · 30/03/2019 16:44

@Beclaboo @AllTheGlitter yes I wanted to get things going ASAP as I'm 35 and you know how everyone says 35 is the magical 'steep decrease in fertility' age... TTC for our first. Good luck girls :)

AllTheGlitter · 30/03/2019 17:51

@beclaboo hahaha thank you! Yes it’s odd the things you find yourself thinking/saying when TTC! Keep us updated with you too!

@sunstruck keep us updated! Really wishing the best for you!

Currently sat watching a film with my two year old step son which doesn’t help the broodiness! It’s nice to have a baby to cuddle in the meantime though

@sunstruck thank you! Fingers crossed for you!!

@alltheglitter oh nightmare but what a lovely relationship to have with him!

AllTheGlitter · 03/04/2019 09:40

Hi all. So went to the doctors. She basically told me it’s because of my weight and told me in no uncertain terms I am too fat. But booked me in for bloods next Thursday. I could cry :(

OP posts:
AllTheGlitter · 03/04/2019 09:43

She told me to come back after losing a bit of weight and then she suggested we try a diet pill and then talk about weight loss surgery!!!! Yes I am overweight yes I know that. But she made me feel like absolute shit. Blush :(

Beclaboo · 03/04/2019 09:53

@alltheglitter sending hugs! What awful bedside manner they have! I know sometimes they have to be matter of fact but it isn’t right you have left feeling like this. At least they have booked you back in for tests so you know they haven’t just dismissed it as that. Diet pills and surgery seems a bit extreme as a first resort!

SunStruck · 03/04/2019 10:01

@AllTheGlitter agreed with @Beclaboo 😡😡 how can they treat this like the first solution?! Can you get a second opinion? Sure, everyone would benefit from eating a bit more healthily and exercise more, but to talk about a surgery straight away??

AllTheGlitter · 03/04/2019 10:17

@beclaboo and @sunstruck I’ve just confided in my friend at work after a little weep and she’s equally as shocked. Don’t get me wrong I am a size 24 but I’m also 5’11 and have always been big - never stopped my periods before! Just trying to think that there are loads of other people also in the same situation so they can’t just tell everyone it’s their weight! Either way will try and eat better but glad I’ve at least got the bloods next thurs. hopefully they come back clear and then will definitely not be going back to that doctor!! Thanks so much for both your comments, not sure what I would do without you all now! Flowers

@AllTheGlitter yes don't take it to heart (although difficult). Fingers crossed bloods will look fine 😄

AllTheGlitter · 03/04/2019 10:46

@sunstruck funnily enough just started heavy spotting so god knows! How’re you anyway?

OP posts:
SunStruck · 03/04/2019 10:53

@AllTheGlitter thanks all good, shocked this morning to see a faint line 8 DPO! I wasn't even going to test today, but my temperature plunged yesterday (so thought I'm out for this month), and then rose a lot this morning. Which is why I decided to test with an early detection test.

So fingers crossed 😄 but as mentioned earlier in this thread I just came off my my pill and my periods hadn't gone back to normal (which is why I got hormones prescribed last cycle). This is the first cycle after the last...

AllTheGlitter · 03/04/2019 11:00

@sunstruck OMG amazing! Really hope it’s good news for you!! Keep us updated!

Beclaboo · 03/04/2019 12:05

@alltheglitter oh I do hope this heavy spotting becomes something! One of my
Colleagues once told me her GP questioned her need to go on the pill because it was for people who were sexually active and also her weight could cause problems. Implying she was too heavy for anyone to want to have sex with her!! Shocking!!

@sunstruck hopefully this is also a sign for things moving in the right direction for you! Eep!

AllTheGlitter · 03/04/2019 12:28

@beclaboo so rude!! I am PRAYING this is finally AF today and if so I’m gonna ring up the doctors tell them they can off their blood tests and take myself down to slimming world ready for TTC properly.

OP posts:
AllTheGlitter · 04/04/2019 10:29

Hi girls hope you’re all okay this morning!

Quick question, if my ‘spotting’ is actually going into my underwear does that now mean it’s not spotting and can count it as AF? It is heavier than yesterday

OP posts:
Beclaboo · 04/04/2019 12:05

@alltheglitter yes! I read about this because I had spotting but it was soooo light! But basically if you need period products then it is not spotting! EEEEKKKKK

AllTheGlitter · 04/04/2019 12:14

Ah thank god. Yeah it’s not much at all - but has now transferred to underwear rather than just being there when I wipe and is pink/bits of red. Gonna take this as a period and then start OPKs soon! Very happy something finally seems to be happening!

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 04/04/2019 17:34

Hey ladies! I seem to have missed a lot!!

@AllTheGlitter, so sorry about the doctors, so rude but at least they took you seriously to do blood tests! But yay for AF!!! How exciting! You were just a few weeks behind me! 😃

Congratulations @SunStruck!!

Well this cycle is turning out to be a long one, I hope it’s not as long as the first (88 days) 🙄!
I’m now on day 22 without a positive OPK and only a bit of CM 😞. So disheartening to know i’m not ovulating but the doctor won’t do anything.

Keep us posted everyone, love hearing the updates!

AllTheGlitter · 05/04/2019 13:01

@TTc2019BabyNo1 nice to hear from you! Thought we’d lost you. Was talking to my DP last night about you all saying how lovely it is to have people to chat to!

I’m sure your body will sort itself out soon, keep us updated!

I’ve joined slimming world yesterday to give me something else to focus on!

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 05/04/2019 13:35

@AllTheGlitter i’m still here! Just been manic lately with work!
Go you for slimming world!! That’ll be a nice distraction from ttc for you 😊
Let us know how your blood tests go!
Yes it’s nice having Mumsnet with lovely people to talk to, especially when I can’t really talk to friends and family as we don’t want to tell people we’re ttc yet!
😊x

Beclaboo · 05/04/2019 18:42

AF IS HERE GUYS!!!!!! I am soooo happy! I can’t believe how happy for af to be here Grin never thought I’d see the day
