@granddesigns - my periods too are much lighter since coming off pill (4 months ago). I was worried that would hamper chances TTC but I googled (what did we do veggie Google?) and found millions of people who said they got pregnant with light periods. So maybe it's not the light periods that are the problem but the fact that the periods are different than before going on the pill - like it's a sign that our bodies are just not back to normal?

@thumper59 - I think you need to do those opk's three or four times a day to be sure of getting a positive! Some people's surges just happen quick I think. Wish there was a more reliable method! Can't clever scientist people stop working on making the new iPhone or something and sort this out first?!

thumper59 · 12/02/2019 17:57

@Jooloo11 that will be me just my bloody luck! 😂 no way I can do them 3-4 times a day, think I'll get the clear blue one for next cycle. If my body is behaving as it should which it seems to be in every other way (regular periods, my body seems to be giving me signs of being around ovulation and ovia predicted that) it's just the positive opks I can't get, on and a positive pregnancy test 😫😂

granddesigns · 12/02/2019 18:17

@Jooloo11 thanks for your thoughts - you're right yes it's different but you start to notice everything and read meaning into it all! I was so pleased periods returned almost immediately, arrived on the day I expected and have been regular, but lighter since. Trying just to enjoy extra time with dh but babies everywhere and can't help think of all the times we tried so hard not to get pg or worried when period was late! I'd love for that now! Never thought I'd be wishing for heavier periods either!

daisiesandpeonies · 12/02/2019 18:31

@granddesigns I have the opposite problem in that my periods are far heavier than before the pill and also more irregular cycles. I've been taking Vitex berry supplements to try and help regulate things, only one cycle so far but literally the second day I took them my period came (at day 35 as opposed to 42.) Anyway it's meant to help get your cycle back on track

Jessikka · 12/02/2019 18:39

Thanks for the well wishes but I am no closer to an explanation! Ha!

Doctors was a monumental waste of my time and theirs 🙄
Told him how nauseas and dizzy I have been for 5/6 days and that I nearly passed out in Ikea I was so dizzy and faint and that I presume it's anaemia making a comeback (I struggled as a teen) and that I worried If I'm this bad now il be worse when AF shows up.

So I'm booked in for tests next Wednesday 😐 AF is due Friday so will be gone by bloody Wednesday so that's a shame!

Ah well! onwards and upwards.

:)

KatBeCool · 12/02/2019 18:43

@OhMarnie my TSH was 4.89. GP immediately said it has to be below 2 to conceive and avoid miscarriage, so she prescribed levothyroxine and retested a month later, it was 1.6. Hypothyroidism can have symptoms we don't even think about. My hair started falling out at a higher rate but when you read that a woman loses up to 100 hairs a day, I was well below that and thought it's normal. I didn't even think about lighter periods because it seemed like there was enough. After four months I see positive changes.

@Jooloo11 there is a difference between light periods and scant. While light isn't the grounds to worry, scant is. If there's less than two tablespoons (two full tampons, sorry for the visual) throughout the duration of the period, it's considered scant and conceiving would be close to impossible.

starkid · 12/02/2019 18:53

@thumper59 - I ovulate between CD16-19, not a definite you'll do the same this cycle, especially being only your 2nd cycle ttc :) keep going, maybe in afternoon and evening like 2pm + 7pm? Don't think morning is much use.
tbf I've not had a positive a couple of times, just become very close, probably due to a quick surge xx

LikeTheFruit · 12/02/2019 19:04

So think I must have ovulated yesterday/today. Had stabby left sided pain on Saturday and Sunday. OPKs showed peak yesterday and more faded today. Found that I've had to have v concentrated wee for them to work. Also BBT was 36.11 yesterday and 36.59 today (Same time for both just after waking). DTD on Friday, twice Sat and yesterday morning so hoping we've caught it!! Maybe should try again tonight just to be sure!

@AngeloMysterioso I think I see a very faint line, FX for the re-test

@Jessikka have you had more spotting or just waiting for AF. If AF causes anemia it will still show on wed tests

@lilana welcome!! Sorry to hear of your MC but great you're TTC again

@thumper59 I was the same, thought it would happen as soon as I had withdrawal bleed off pill. DH keeps saying he's like a baby with Earth star sign lol how do I tell him it's not that easy! 😂😂

@PeacockingAbout totally get the sense of failure thing. I've always done well as school/uni/work exams so really feeling it each time AF appears.

@PinkFizz19 Defo go for the new qualification, you generally regret the things you don't do.

Hope we're going to have lots of BFPs this month!

Jessikka · 12/02/2019 19:25

Hello @LikeTheFruit

No more spotting; though I checked my cervix position this morning and there was blood mixed Cm but it hasn't come down yet.

Ah that's good to know - I always thought it only happened whilst you're on so that's good to know thank you!

Just patiently waiting for AF now.

Have any of you watched Outlander? I'm quite enjoying it!

Iilana · 12/02/2019 19:28

@likethefruit thank you 😊

BostonFern · 12/02/2019 19:40

Welcome @Iilana ! @DayDreamer1707 yes, I'm close too- AF due on 22nd. Symptom spotting definitely happening here! After the random hiccups waking me up about 2am, I can now add sore boobs to the list!

@AngeloMysterioso I find it easier to keep tests still and move the phone to the test, rather than the test to the phone, if that makes any sense.
Just scrolled further and seen your photos, I think I see something on one of them!

Welcome @MrsRLM !

DayDreamer1707 · 12/02/2019 19:52

@BostonFern snap my AF is due on the 22nd too. I can't help but symptom spot so annoying. I have slightly sore boobs and slight cramping but think have this every TWW 😂. Praying this is 3rd time lucky for us.

thumper59 · 12/02/2019 21:51

Welcome to all our newbies over the last few days. Welcome to the mad house 😂

I'm not gonna make an opk at 2pm. Think I'm gonna try in the morning maybe second wee? If possible, and then after work still. Then moan about how they don't seem to be working 😂

I'll carry on with my efforts of shagging the life out of my OH, who knows I haven't took part in fit feb very much at all, but I might still of burnt off a few lbs at the end of this cycle if nothing else 😂😂

MrsR16 · 12/02/2019 22:51

@thumper59 I'm in the same position with OPKs! Haven't had a positive but was close a few days after testing for the first time. I think I ov'd on CD13 or 14, but Glow still thinks I haven't! 🤦‍♀️ the worst thing is that I'm still spotting! I have no idea what my body's doing this month!

Also (just to add to my worries) I found out today that my car might well be written off from the accident I had a couple of weeks back! Not what I need right now 😔

MrsH497 · 13/02/2019 04:12

Is it bedtime yet?!
Bought some pregnancy tests with the food shop yesterday hubby nearly had heart failure at the price! Waiting until Thursday at least to test shop only had clearblue as well.

Hope everyone is well and welcome newbies to the friendliest board! X

19Bee2 · 13/02/2019 06:15

Morning all. Juat wanted to update you that AF arrived. Day 48. I'm just relieved it has happened and I can move onto cycle 2. Hope everyone has a good day! X

19Bee2 · 13/02/2019 06:21

On reading my message back, I should probably clarify: I knew i wasn't pregnant this month and was worried about irregular cycles, hence being relieved to start this next one. Dont want to seem insensitive as I know we are all hoping to miss AF properly. X

DayDreamer1707 · 13/02/2019 06:48

@MrsR16 as if an accident wasn't enough!! Hopefully you will get to use your clear blue test soon x

@thumper59 fingers crossed you get a positive today but least you are covering yourself and burning some calories 😉

@19Bee2 not insensitive at all, nothing more frustrating than knowing you aren't pregnant but AF hasn't arrived. I hope this next cycle is better for you

So fitness feb continues with me just looking at workouts and what food I should eat 😂. Gym tonight though and back healthy train...choo choo!! CD18 for me and 6DPO, no signs of anything yet but I didn't really have any last time. Just the odd twinge lately but pretty sure that's just me going crazy!! So looking forward to the weekend. Anyone doing anything for Valentines Day x

TrashKitten10 · 13/02/2019 06:53

@19Bee2 So glad she's finally turned up! Hope this cycle goes back to normal x

@MrsR16 Not good news about your car :( You're surely due a bit of good news now

DayDreamer1707 · 13/02/2019 06:53

Just realised that some of my apps (yes I like to use more than one) have all predicted different days!! So I could get AF on either 20-21-22 🤔. All these dates still give me a luteal phase of 12 or more so I suppose that isn't too bad...I will still not test early!!

TrashKitten10 · 13/02/2019 06:57

@DayDreamer1707 I use FF and have just started using Glow and they are a day different in their predictions too, I guess they must use different algorithms. Like you said, a good length of luteal phase which is positive. So difficult not to give in and test Grin

BostonFern · 13/02/2019 07:01

@19Bee2 that must be a relief to know you can move on now.

@MrsR16 sorry to hear about the car.

My partner asked when we could do a pregnancy test just as we were falling asleep last night-think he was shocked to realise there's at least nine days to go yet 😂

TrashKitten10 · 13/02/2019 07:26

@BostonFern That's funny! They've got no idea have they Grin

TTC FIRST BABY - Thread 13!
MrsR16 · 13/02/2019 08:17

@19Bee2 glad to hear AF finally hit for you! 48 days must have been a killer!

@DayDreamer1707 fingers crossed! I don't think I've managed to get pregnant this month... this spotting I've had is enough to make me worry.

@TrashKitten10 thanks lovely, I hope so too!

@BostonFern thanks hun

@thumper59 that looks like a fairly strong line! I'd let it dry a bit more, but that could well be your positive!
