Thank you so much all for making me feel so welcome!

@KittieKath - hello cycle buddy! Hopefully it'll be your turn to get a BFP soon!

It's great to have people going through the same thing!

Here's my story so far:

I had my Mirena coil removed end of October & have been taking trying to conceive seven seas tablets since November. Plan was always to try in the new year.

First cycle I used the 'GLO' app only, which I quite like! You can take photos of the OPKs and store it in there. Completely free too. I got a bit hooked on inputting the data too. I symptom spotted galore and got all excited when my hairdresser asked if I was pregnant (my dye didn't take like it used to) and I couldn't stop burping...but no. AF arrived and was the heaviest I've ever known it.

This cycle (2nd) I used OPKs, which although a stress at first, I got used to it. It also indicated I ovulated 2 days later than the app predicted (so now I feel I wasted the first time Angry) we dtd 3 days in a row with ovulation day being the last (unheard of in this household!). I also invested in preseed this month as used Ann summers stuff the previous month before reading that it wasn't the best to use when TTC! So infuriating!

Re swimmers coming out, I'm yet to try raising my bottom or legs against the wall. My feeling is, the stuff that's come out didn't have the strength to stay in there anyway so probs won't survive the journey - haha!

I have however insisted I'm on bottom each time - why I don't know, but my theory is if I'm on top then it has to go upwards which will make it harder?!

I've read some people don't clean themselves up down there after dtd too. I wait around 20 mins, but normally I'm up & washed. Id end up with an infection down there or cystitis!!

In other news...We went out for a pre booked set Valentine's meal last night in the venue we got married in - oysters, pate and rare steak, washed down with a small glass of red Confused

At the time I was like 'it's fine' but now I'm like 'have I messed it up?!' I'm only 3 DPO. My husband seems to think it's fine as technically I'm not pregnant..am I wrong to stress?

Also off to a neighbours wedding tonight - there's a group of us going - great trying to hide the fact I'm not drinking from them!

I'm also having huge caffeine withdrawals (head is pounding!) reducing my intake down to a cup a day & switching to decaf!

All of this prep makes me wonder how the hell people get pregnant by accident!!

I've gone on a bit now, but hope everyone has had a good day!

LuckyPenguin · 15/02/2019 16:14

@LikeTheFruit yay! Just read your post! Hello cycle buddy! Grin

LuckyPenguin · 15/02/2019 16:18

@BabySquid we used preseed and on the first time my husband slipped out & was like - far too much babe 🤣 I used 2g. Stuck to 1g and it's been fine since!

Lozzlepop · 15/02/2019 16:42

@DayDreamer1707 I bet you do ☺️ Thanks for the kind words and putting my mind at ease a little, think it’s worse for the OH as I think he thinks I’m dying 😂 will hold off on POAS until Monday maybe cos then I’ll be 14DPO?! Hahaha love that you fell out with your lady parts 😂😂 I guess you are on speaking terms now?

@LokiCat yeah I’ll be in my bed and fast asleep by that time 😂

@starkids fingers crossed for those isoflavones

What’s everyone’s weekend plans? We are out for lunch with my parents tomorrow then meant to be going to a 30th but think I might give it a miss as it might be easier than stressing over being able to drink or not 😣

KatBeCool · 15/02/2019 16:43

@LuckyPenguin at only 3dpo you can still drink, just don't get dehydrated, and obviously don't drink a lot (too avoid severe symptoms). The egg wouldn't have implanted yet so alcohol has no way of reaching it.

LuckyPenguin · 15/02/2019 16:58

Thanks @KatBeCool - new to this & I do worry!

KittieKath · 15/02/2019 17:16

@KatBeCool I hope you are right about the OPKs - this means we would have DTDd bang on time!🤞

@BabySquid
I have used preseed for first time his month - and am of the more is better mindset! They suggest 2-3g in the "instructions".

(Seriously, can't believe I am reading sex instructions!) ☺️🤪🤣

starkid · 15/02/2019 17:32

I use 1g of pre seed (if I do, not every time) it seems plenty, & when I used more it felt so gross and sticky everywhere!
Am hoping to enjoy some of the more spring-like weather this weekend :)

TrashKitten10 · 15/02/2019 17:56

Hi ladies, I'll catch up properly on posts tonight when I get back from our belated Valentine's Day meal but can someone look at this OPK? After whinging I'd not had a positive this morning I've got my darkest result yet. I'd still say it isn't quite as dark as the control line and Glow says it's a negative so what does that mean? Did I miss the surge? Or it's just a randomly darker negative that means nothing? Attached are many many pissy sticks Grin

@TrashKitten10 - Ooh I say do another in an hour or 2 (restaurant toilets haha)

BostonFern · 15/02/2019 18:54

@Iilana glad you got a bit more sleep!

@rachel59pink welcome!

@DayDreamer1707 I think SMEP has worn myself and DP out too- just starting to get some energy back again 😂

@thumper59 Oh no- I'd not experienced cystitis until a couple of years ago, and did not expect it to be so uncomfortable! Hope it passes quickly.

@OhMarnie 😂 basting yourself 😂

CD21 and 7 or 8 dpo here. The TWW is about to feel a lot longer as I have a week off work, so no distractions in the daytime.

thumper59 · 15/02/2019 19:06

@TrashKitten10 I'd say your close!!

@BostonFern it's horrendous. I've had all sorts of scans and tests to see why it's reoccurring and if it was my kidneys/bladder but all fine ( thankfully!). I'm just one of these people who is unfortunately susceptible to it. I find I get it more from being dehydrated than sex. Because I always go to toilet after sex, it gets quite tiring when you are suffering and people say you must be having to much of a good time. Ha! No chance when cystitis is about!

@rachel59pink @LikeTheFruit I'm due on the 25th too! Fingers crossed for us.

I've got quite a chill weekend. Getting my hair done tomorrow and then just the usual cleaning up etc. Gonna go into town in morning might treat myself! See what's about. I do love a quiet weekend have to admit 🙄. And in regards to drinking I've been having a few on a weekend but not going over board!

KittieKath · 15/02/2019 19:12

@starkid @LikeTheFruit

I am due on the 24th Feb, fairly similar! Let's def stay together for he 2ww crazy?! 🤪

@LuckyPenguin

I had a similar things, got very giddy the first few months! Now have settled in for the long haul with TTC.

I had also stoped caffeine. But am still drinking quite heavily and eating all the naughty foods. I also had oysters today!

My friend who is a midwife said the baby isn't connected to the blood stream until 5/6weeks. And a bit of booze can help to calm TTC stress!

I am trying to quit the booze though, it can impact your fertility. 😒

ValidUser · 15/02/2019 19:14

Very good news - if we can't get my eggs via ivf, we can access a donor from European mainland locally. Saves a lot of effort! Very reassuring.

KittieKath · 15/02/2019 19:21

@TrashKitten10

I agree with @starkid - I was doing them every few hours when they got close like that! Good luck! 💪🤞

MrsR16 · 15/02/2019 20:39

Hey ladies, sorry I've been super quiet over the last few days! My insurers decided that my car is a technical write off, so I had a massive meltdown yesterday about it. However, I'm doing ok today and feeling positive! Went car shopping (although ended up spending most of the money I got for my birthday in Go Outdoors!) and will do so again tomorrow.

Hope everyone's doing ok!

LokiCat · 15/02/2019 21:21

@TrashKitten10 the OPKs looks like a few more tonight or even tomorrow will get you the positive! 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Enjoy your belated valentines meal 😊

How do you all deal with water intake when testing OPKs? I can't seem to find the right balance as mine seem to come out light if I drink too much water but then I don't want to be dehydrated for EWCM.. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I've got a weekend to myself with the cats! DH is working all day tomorrow and then Sunday night. May pop out for a Thai lunch on Sunday though 🙊

KittieKath · 15/02/2019 21:36

Hey @ValidUser

I must have missed something - you need surrogate eggs?

Didn't want to read and run, so sending you baby dust! ☺️

thumper59 · 15/02/2019 21:46

@LokiCat I can't find it either since I've given my self cystitis this time round. 😂🙄 to be honest- I think when your positive your wee only needs to be mildly concentrate, I reckon just not drinking for an hour or so prior would do the trick, if it's going to be positive at all!

thumper59 · 15/02/2019 21:47

@MrsR16 argh sorry about the car that's annoying! Hope your not feeling too fed up about it x

ValidUser · 15/02/2019 21:55

Thanks @KittieKath - been here since July. November we found right sided tubal damage (possibly destroyed ovary too) from childhood peritonitis. Then in January we found out my left ovary was in an odd position.

Surgery in March and then hoping we can get an egg from my left side. If not, we need a donor.

Messy, but I'm lucky to be 29.

MrsR16 · 15/02/2019 21:56

@thumper59 yeah I was really upset, but then figured out that I'll only be £40 out of pocket! Not too much in the grand scheme of things. Now I just need to get another car (just not a white one - they're obviously a curse for me!) 😂 xx

thumper59 · 15/02/2019 22:05

@MrsR16 well you've gotta see the positives! Argh white cars are a nightmare mine stays clean for a day and looks about 100 years old the day after!

OhMarnie · 15/02/2019 22:12

@MrsR16 argh that is annoying, at least it's not costing you too much in the end though

@thumper59 same - I have a white car too, it's always filthy! I love having a freshly cleaned car but I drive country roads to work and so it never stays clean for long 🙄

KatBeCool · 15/02/2019 23:06

@ValidUser that's great that you have options! Maybe your ovary is in the weird position for the tube but not for the egg harvesting. Fingers crossed!

@TrashKitten10 test before bed time! You'll get your positive!
