Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

I've just had more random spotting after two days without anything (and five days of spotting before that). I wish I knew what my hormones and body were doing.

impatientmammy · 31/03/2019 22:09

@NoseringGirl I've just messaged you regarding yoga. Wish I could give advice about cycles but mine are actually quite regular. Not that it's actually helped like 😑 x

impatientmammy · 31/03/2019 22:24

I'm sorry some of you ladies have had such a hard day today I hope next year you have something to celebrate x

impatientmammy · 01/04/2019 18:33

Right so today I bought cq10, evening primrose and I'm looking into L-arginine. Any pros and cons? Anyone tried it all x

todaywasafairytale · 02/04/2019 21:57

I'm sorry Sunday was so tough. I tried to stay off of social media on Sunday. I've been trying to take a break from here too in an attempt to take my mind off of TTC. Hope this week feels more positive.

PaintingOwls · 03/04/2019 18:04

Doris19 · 04/04/2019 08:46

Hi all, please may I join?
Just got referred by my GP to a fertility consultant after months of not even a glimmer of hope.

Currently in a pretty rubbish place emotionally etc, with no idea of what this next step may involve...and AF just coming on this morning of course.

Have been on other monthly bus boards, where everyone I had been chatting to except me has pretty much now had their bfn and it makes it even worse seeing people roll in, get a bfp first month and roll on out again. Sorry for the rant...

Thinking about trying soy isaflavones this month, otherwise just doing opti bac and seven seas pre conception vits. Plus dropped caffeine (the ultimate sacrifice!)
Xx

cupcakesandglitter · 04/04/2019 10:02

Hey @Doris19 welcome! Don't apologise for ranting, we welcome it 😂 I think we all know what it's like to be on threads full of BFPs and you almost feel like you're invisible because it's such a different experience. Sorry that you're on here but I'm glad you're being referred and hopefully you get some answers soon xx

Doris19 · 04/04/2019 12:46

Thanks @cupcakesandglitter 😬
I'm happy for them, but it's pretty draining all the same isn't it!

Has anyone else tried the soy inflavones? Apparently meant to speed up ovulation and help improve egg quality?

I have long cycles (33-35 days) so keen to maximise my number of chances in a year if I can.

NoseringGirl · 04/04/2019 14:09

Welcome @Doris19 I completely understand how crushing it is when everyone else on a thread gets that BFP. I'm on one that's has so many it's turned into an antenatal thread, I'm happy for everyone but I definitely don't feel like I fit.
I've not tried soy isoflavones. I get too nervous about things messing up my cycles even though they're all over the place already. I've read a lot of positive things though.

cupcakesandglitter · 04/04/2019 20:05

It's definitely draining 😩 like Nosering, I'm too scared to try anything so have no experience sorry - I found an ebook today all about low testosterone and I'm convinced DH has it, because he has all of the symptoms (he finally booked in for his SA today) . Might try CoEnzyme Q10 next cycle that we try.

Ladies can I ask a TMI question? So I had very very light barely there spotting for a few days but AF turned up this morning. It looks black (or a v v dark brown) I was standing up earlier, and felt it sort of 'fall out' and ran to the bathroom. I was super heavy as a teen but since I came off contraception I've been medium so I was a bit surprised at the feeling again. Ran to the bathroom and heres the TMI bit I had a MASSIVE black stringy clot, around the length of a five pound note. This is super unusual for me, I usually pass clots that are literally a dot - the only time I had anything similar was a miscarriage years ago. This was a couple of hours ago. I've felt really nauseous all day, almost as if I haven't eaten anything in days (I have) and I've just gone to the bathroom and there's pretty much nothing, only a bit of tan coloured blood only when I wipe. I'm super confused, does anyone have a clue what's going on?

todaywasafairytale · 04/04/2019 20:38

Welcome @Doris19, I completely understand where you're coming from. It's bloody annoying seeing people come and go after a few cycles, getting their BFPs, gahhh! I've found this thread supportive and we don't mind a sigh, a moan, a shout or some positivity either Smile

todaywasafairytale · 04/04/2019 20:40

Sorry @cupcakesandglitter I've never experienced anything like that. I would just keep an eye on things and if you have painful cramps then book a doctors appointment.

BGDino · 05/04/2019 07:47

Welcome @Doris19 we say it like it is on this thread which has kept me sane for one.

Afraid I can’t shed any light either @cupcakesandglitter though I agree with @todaywasafairytale

Had my early scan on Wednesday where we saw bubba (well, a smudge called bubba) with a little heartbeat which is probably 5 weeks along. Then an almighty scare that evening with lots of bleeding and huge blood clots. Have been told by fertility nurse and practice midwife not to panic, and still getting morning sickness so trying to be reassured by that. Booking appointment with obstetrician (same one who looked after me last pregnancy) on 16/4... here’s hoping bubba carries on strong 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Doris19 · 05/04/2019 08:14

Thanks all for the warm welcome.
I've got my initial consultation next week with the fertility consultant so we'll see how it goes. I'm 37 and we do have a DS who was conceived after a number of interventions, now possibly too late for another but we'll see.

@cupcakesandglitter I haven't experienced that either. Could you try 101 maybe if you don't want to go to the gp?

@BGDino tried to catch up on your story in the thread, congratulations on your pregnancy, fingers and toes crossed for you with the bleeding I'm sure it was a shock. It must be a good sign that they weren't too concerned. Hopefully you can rest up over the weekend.

NoseringGirl · 05/04/2019 09:24

@cupcakesandglitter I've only had clots like that once and it was when I'd been bleeding for ages. The brown blood would be old blood so maybe you had a clot blocking something and it's become dislodged? Definitely get a GP appointment if you're worried though.

@BGDino glad the scan went well, sorry to hear about the bleeding though. Keeping everything crossed for you.

@Doris19 37 still gives you a good few years so try not to worry about that. I understand though, heading towards the late 30s does give the fear a little bit. I've definitely had moments of worrying over it!

CD11 here (sort of, I'm counting from the heaviest day of spotting which probably wouldn't be a proper period) and I've been doing OPKs which have been getting a little darker. I also feel really pre menstrual though so maybe I've got more bleeding to come. Will just have to wait and see what happens!

NoseringGirl · 07/04/2019 10:13

My temps have been rising and I might've actually ovulated! Trying not to get too excited as my body messes with me quite often but it's nice to have a bit of hope.
How's everyone doing?

todaywasafairytale · 07/04/2019 11:53

According to OPKs I ovulated yesterday, but we last DTD on Wednesday so I think we're out for this month 😞 DH struggled to perform Friday and yesterday, I think the pressure of TTC is getting to us both. Does anyone have any advice about not letting the pressure get too much? We've been trying for almost 1 year and every BFN just seems more and more painful.

BGDino · 08/04/2019 12:47

@todaywasafairytale I swear this is 100% true what DH and I did. We had a backup plan of a cup and a syringe. Because we did ovulation induction, we had to DTD every day for 4 days starting when the fertility nurses call to tell you to get busy - well, they did say every second day is okay, but you want to maximise your chances, right? ;) So you can imagine that knowing you have to DTD on 4 set days can be a bit stressful. So we agreed that if we tried to DTD but either person wasn't feeling it, the cup and syringe was a legitimate backup. When we conceived our angel baby Alex, we had to call in the backup on day 4, but with this bubba we didn't need to... I think it helps with the pressure because you know you have another way of getting it done, as it were.

Have still been bleeding and now getting cramps. I called my midwife this afternoon and she's managed to squeeze me in to a midmorning appointment. Not sure if it's with her or with my obstetrician. But feeling very relieved to know that I'll be seen tomorrow. Hoping desperately that bubba is ok.

NoseringGirl · 08/04/2019 15:48

@BGDino wishing you all the best for your appointment tomorrow!

@todaywasafairytale I've also heard of people using the cup and syringe method or using softcups and just putting the... deposit in with that Grin
A lot of people don't tell their partners when ovulation is happening to keep the pressure off. I've never managed that though!
