Ladies who stated TTC in their 30’s.
How old were you when you started trying.
How old were you when you got your BFP.
Was it a good/bad pregnancy.
Was it natural birth/c-sec?
(Not a researcher btw haha just a ttc 30’s bit nutty gal wanting to know the ins and outs of a ducks ass ) 😂

Not sure why you think 30s is a factor in pregnancy? 30s is an average age to have children so it's no different really to 20s, so basically you're asking what an average pregnancy is like?Hmm
Late 30s there are more risks obviously but still an average pregnancy.

DramaAlpaca · 26/01/2019 03:01

Having babies in your 30s is totally normal. I had two in my 30s, conceived quickly, no issues, easy natural births. It took me way longer to get pregnant in my late 20s.

Woodward12 · 26/01/2019 03:28

30s is very normal for TTC but:

31 when started trying
Got a positive first month of trying
Good in some ways - very little in the way of morning sickness, but got bad SPD, awful towards end.
Natural birth, just gas and air and delivered In the pool. Was in early labour for around 24 hours or so then went from hardly any dilation to having the baby out in a couple of hours.

SazCat · 26/01/2019 03:43

34 when started TTC. Took 7 months from coming off the mini pill. Was put under consultant care due to high BMI but had a smooth pregnancy with no issues. Apart from baby was breech so had to have a planned c section! Had DD when I was nearly 36. Planning on trying for no 2 later this year when I'll be 38.

LiquoricePickle · 26/01/2019 03:53

It's my second baby, but I'm 30. Conceived straight away, will be a c section because my last one was.

StuckInTheMiddleWithJude · 26/01/2019 04:32

Fell pregnant whilst on the pill at 29 with my first, second fell pregnant quickly at 32.
In my NCT group I was the second youngest, the oldest 40... 30 TTC isn't anything abnormal, I think you'll find you are in good company.

Flatwhite32 · 26/01/2019 09:39

I was 31 when we started. Fell pregnant on cycle 5. Lost the baby at 12 weeks (MMC). Fell pregnant on cycle 3 post MMC (I had just turned 32 by then). DD just turned 6 months old, and I'm now 33!

Lammoshay · 26/01/2019 11:57

Sorry ladies I didn’t mean it wasn’t normal being in your 30’s, I just wanted a perspective from those who are in there 30’s that’s all. X

I had my first at 28 and having my second next Tuesday by section (due to experience of first labour) - I'll be 31. It took 3 cycles for DS1 and 2 second time around (very lucky!).

Both of my pregnancies have been very straightforward (thankfully) but the usual pregnancy symptoms.

Good luck x

30, concieved within 9 weeks of coming off contraception

physicskate · 26/01/2019 22:53

Started ttc when I turned 32. Had two early miscarriages. Conceived via ivf when I was 34 and will give birth when I'm 35. We have no diagnosed fertility issues... just couldn't get/stay pregnant.

CrazyOldBagLady · 26/01/2019 23:00

Started ttc at 37, gave birth at 37 weeks still age 37.

PoutySprout · 26/01/2019 23:03
  1. Pregnant within 2 weeks. Gave birth just before turning 33. Traumatic hospital birth requiring a spinal and forceps rather than the peaceful water home birth I had planned.
preggersteach · 26/01/2019 23:04

32 when started ttc, tried for a year, found out I was pregnant just days after my 33rd birthday. Natural birth, my age didn't seem to matter at all during pregnancy, any concerns weren't age related

Bonkersblond · 26/01/2019 23:10

32 ttc for six long years, DS @ 38 via 2nd IVF but relatively easy pregnancy/birth. DD @ 42 natural conception, we weren't even trying, maybe only DTD once that month, no rhyme no reason to it.

Bluebellbike · 26/01/2019 23:10

I had my first at 27. Took 2 months to conceive. I had my second at 36, nine years later. Again 2 months to conceive. Both normal pregnancies. I had the amniocentesis test for my second. Both C Sections but that was due to my medical history, nothing to do with the pregnancies.

Newyearnewunicorn · 26/01/2019 23:15

35 when conceived (accidentally was on pill)
Ok pregnancy with spd. Week of labour emcs, he was too big to exit naturally.

SpeedyBojangles · 26/01/2019 23:16

Had DC3 at 32. Conceived second month of trying. Fairly smooth pregnancy but very tired due to two other children. Elective C Section... very straightforward.

SpeedyBojangles · 26/01/2019 23:18

Oh... DC1 took ten months to conceive at age 27. DC2 unplanned!

kazwelch · 26/01/2019 23:24

It took me 3 years to have my oldest son sick all the way through & 36 hours in labour & my second son 6 months off trying to have him still sick all the way through & 3 hours in labour.

kazwelch · 26/01/2019 23:26

I was 32 with my first & 35 with my second.

pepperjack · 26/01/2019 23:44

37, conceived first month
Great pregnancy
Hard long birth, mainly cos of big baby

Fishcakey · 26/01/2019 23:51

One accident aged 32 and was up the duff so no issues here.

Shmithecat · 27/01/2019 07:14

Started TTC at 38. Took 13 months of half hearted trying (didn't want the disappointment if we tried everything if that makes sense). So, pregnant at 39. Had ds at 40. Perfect pregnancy, spontaneous labour at 39+6, vaginal delivery without assistance.

Stoppedat1 · 27/01/2019 07:33

32 when conceived, 33 when born. Took us 11 months for BFP. I had cs after failed induction (induced early for gestational diabetes). Nothing to do with my age though: because of my weight.
