Ladies who stated TTC in their 30’s.
How old were you when you started trying.
How old were you when you got your BFP.
Was it a good/bad pregnancy.
Was it natural birth/c-sec?
(Not a researcher btw haha just a ttc 30’s bit nutty gal wanting to know the ins and outs of a ducks ass ) 😂

I was 28 when fell pregnant with first. Took 4 months of TTC and ended in emergency section due to undiagnosed breech.
I'm 32 now and been TTC number 2 for 18 months.

AllSuits · 27/01/2019 08:12

Started TTC when I was 32.

I've just turned 34, waiting for our first fertility clinic appointment. DH has low sperm count so explains why we've had no luck yet - my age is largely irrelevant!

I started ttc in March age 35, baby arrived full term in Jan sailed through pregnancy til the end when I developed pre eclampsia, had induction and section. Second pregnancy 37, started ttc in December and baby arrived in October at 40+4. No issues in pregnancy, was in slow labour for about 3 days then when it hit properly I had baby in 4 hours by vbac. Just come off the pill again ttc no. 3 and I've just turned 40.

Good luck to you but as others have said 30s is very normal to ttc and my midwife told me they don't even really consider it and older pregnancy til 42+ these days.

What a surprising number of women who apparently gave birth to cakes! Were they all traditional rum babas?!

First baby I was 31 and I fell pregnant first month of trying, second baby I as 35 and it took 9 months if trying (I got my bfp after using an ovulation kit that month) and third pregnancy was a total surprise at 38 after one failed contraception.

Fundays12 · 27/01/2019 08:45

Sorry both baby 1 and 2 were inductions but ine was because he was overdue and the other was ongoing problems that put baby ar rusk (nit age related) and third isn’t born yet. Births were fine and natural with minimal pain relief.

Theworldisfullofgs · 27/01/2019 08:45

31 conceived 1st month.
35 (had him at 36) conceived 1st month

SoyDora · 27/01/2019 08:45

Not my first but have just had my third at 34. Conceived 2nd month of trying, straightforward pregnancy and labour.
My first at 28 took 13 months.

sofato5miles · 27/01/2019 08:50

Conceived my three by accident. Only times DH and I ever took a risk. 32, 36 and 37.

He had a vasectomy.

spudlet7 · 27/01/2019 09:13

Started trying just turned 33. Fell pregnant within the first month despite going months between periods and no clue when ovulation might be. We were very lucky. Although not because I was in my thirties particularly. Stop worrying, it won't helpGrin

Trampire · 27/01/2019 09:30

Started ttc at 31.
Fell pg the first month. Was 32 when I gave birth.
Not much morning sickness. Terrible headaches throughout though.
Went 2 weeks overdue.
My feet swelled painfully to 4 times their normal size.
Started with homebirth but was transferred to hospital. Ended up with epidural, forceps, episiotomy and 3rd degree tear.
Found BFing impossible.

Had second baby at 35. Second month of ttc.
Easy pregnancy (despite headaches) until 8 months when I got really sick. Baby was induced 2 weeks early.
Very quick and easy vaginal birth with no interventions.

In my experience, I only know 2 friends who had babies in their 20's. The vast majority were mid-late 30's.

anotherdaygoesby · 27/01/2019 10:02

Had both mine mid/late thirties. Conceived easily, within three months of trying. Being an older parent is tiring though!

littlemeitslyn · 27/01/2019 10:40

'Baba' 🤮

CountessVonBoobs · 27/01/2019 10:43

Conceived first cycle age 30. M/c 7 weeks. Conceived again first cycle after that age 30. Natural vaginal birth with no complications at age 31. Conceived first cycle trying age 34. Induced because of placenta concerns but straightforward vaginal birth again.

MammaBell · 27/01/2019 10:53

Hey, I had just turned 31 when we started trying and it took us 6 months to conceive. I had a straightforward pregnancy...just usual annoying symptoms like morning sickness the first few months then heartburn every night and restless leg syndrome at the final trimester. My DD arrive one week after her due date. My waters broke but had to be induced the next day, took 36 hours for babba to arrive. In the end it was assisted delivery with forceps. Forceps were not as scary as I feared. Also had an episiotomy which I also always feared but at the time I didn't even know they'd done it lol. In all honesty, the most challenging thing I've experienced overall (pre and post arrival of baby) has been breastfeeding. Lots of tears and snorters from me lol, lots of sore nipples, aching back, worry and stress. We persevered and after 4 months we were on a roll...but it took looooads of preserving to get there. After that it was wonderful...until her teeth starting popping in ouch lol Confused

Had mc at 30 first child 32 mc at 33 second child 35 mc at 37 final child 39. Got pregnant quite easily though

MaryShelley1818 · 27/01/2019 21:09

Started ttc at 38 - took 5mths. Gave birth at 39.
Induced at 39wks due to GD. No other issues, induction went well and had vaginal delivery with zero problems.
Currently ttc #2 at 40 (41 in 3mths) first month of trying.

comeonbaby · 27/01/2019 21:32

32 we started TTC and fell pregnant within weeks of trying...which for us was a shock...I had been in the contraceptive patch for 11/12 years...come off it 3 months before starting to actively try.

Has no sickness in pregnancy, not really cravings other than wanting to drink milk all the time.
I have suffered with a twisted pelvis and SPD that has been pretty miserable...had chiropractic treatment privately to help. I've had other issues but they are solely connecting to an existing medical condition.
Otherwise I would say I've had a fairly smooth pregnancy...

I'm due tomorrow 🙈 so unable to comment on labour

Two babies at 35 and 37 , first 9 months to conceive , second first attempt. Both c sections . No major issues with pregnancies

ememem84 · 27/01/2019 21:46

I had ds when I was 33. We’d been sort of trying for 2 years. As in sex regularly and no protection. Not charting anything. Fairly easy pregnancy no complications. Straightforward natural birth.

Now pg with dc2. Back on the pill so a massive shock. So far pregnancy has been the same. Hoping for a straightforward birth. I’m now 34. Will be 35 on October. So am just still on the low risk side of things.
