Clear Blue Test (not digital) too faint?

On Wednesday I got a BFP on CD23 of my 27 day cycle using a FRER. I'm pretty sure I ov'd on CD11 because I had a positive digital opk on CD9, so I would have been about 12dpo.

I tested the following day using second FRER and got a BFP.

Today is CD27 and AF should have started this morning (but hasn't - yippee!) so I took a standard Clear Blue test just to check. It has come back BFP but is very, very faint. Should I be worried? I should be 16dpo at this point so would have expected it to be darker and now I'm worried it's going to be a chemical. My DH will be crushed if it is 😞 Help please anyone?

I'd get another frer and try not to worry. Good luck

Desmondo2016 · 13/01/2019 08:52

The sensitivity of the tests and the dilution of your urine will affect it. Don't worry, a line is a line! Now, stop testing!

I'd get a digital one with my last pregnancy the tests where all really faint even when I tested a couple of weeks later they never went dark however everything was fine and I have a 15 month old lol.

Thank you x

I know it's silly and there's nothing I can do but I'm so worried. I did the CB test with FMU too and it's so light. The FRER's came up clearly really quickly, days ago. I have a bad feeling.

Just put your mind at rest. With digital I'm sure all is fine it's just so worrying trying to guess when they don't look dark enough, I think with clear blue mine was really faint and I was worrying because with my 1st pregnancy that was the first I did and it went dark blue straight away so just shows how different it can be

Vicsleighbob · 13/01/2019 09:50

Thank you Hollypink x

I've attached a picture of my tests. The top FRER was Weds (cd23), the middle was Thurs (cd24) and the CB was this morning (cd27). It's over an hour since I took the CB and it seems to have faded a bit but it did come up within 3 mins so isn't an evaporation line.

My boobs are still sore and I've not started bleeding so I don't know what to think. The CB test makes me think it's all over though sadly

In the nicest possible way- YOU ARE PREGNANT!!
They are all clear positives it. Are no difference whether they are a bit lighter than the control window.
Congratulations Thanks

shecamefromgreece · 13/01/2019 09:58

Sorry I didn't mean to sound harsh but just stop peeing on sticks now and try to relax I would seriously just try and relax you are pregnant and I can see nothing in those tests that would concern me.Smile

Hollypink · 13/01/2019 10:05

Congratulations they are all positive that's just what clear blue looks like don't worry x

Vicsleighbob · 13/01/2019 10:10

Really? You honestly think so? Thank you for being so lovely Thanks It means a lot. I don't have any friends or family to talk to about this, so you guys are a massive lifeline x

I was expecting the CB to be loads darker today but when it was so light I actually cried. My DH actually thinks the CB test is negative because it's so light. He's been lovely but he thinks it's over too.

I'm going to stop testing completely now and see what happens. I have a CB digital that I might do in a week but I'm not helping myself poas as much as I have am I! I'll let you all know next week how I get on.

Thank you again x

Don't forget your comparing different tests so your not going to get a clear darkening of them. Please try to relax a bit and enjoy being pregnant!

feliciabirthgiver · 13/01/2019 11:15

Definitely definitely definitely positive - congratulations to you both. Please stop worrying now Thanks

Janefx40 · 13/01/2019 11:35

Definitely pregnant congrats. CB are much less sensitive tests hence why it may be fainter than the others. I can't remember exact details but FRER are sensitive at something like hcg of 8 (definitely single figures) If you want reassurance do a CB digital tomorrow morning. Good luck x

Jaxtellerswife · 13/01/2019 12:12

Oh yes that's a great result 👍🏻congratulations

Vicsleighbob · 13/01/2019 12:56

Thank you. I'm trying to stay positive 🤞🏼 x

If you’re really keen to see line progression try another frer. It’ll most likely be as dark as the control line over the next couple of days.

Claireb2203 · 13/01/2019 13:34

Try the cb digital test that will tell you if you are pregnant or not. I think it's positive on all of them though, congratulations xx

namechangechanger · 13/01/2019 13:43

You are pregnant!

Vicsleighbob · 13/01/2019 16:09

Quick update. I did a CB digital yesterday and it was only showing 1-2 when it should have been 2-3.

Started bleeding this morning so it was definitely a chemical. We're absolutely heartbroken. Thank you for all the kind support to my previous posts. Not sure where we go from here now.

Hollypink · 16/01/2019 12:38

So sorry to hear that I was thinking about you hoping it all turned out well. It will happen x
