Anybody starting their tww?
Mine starts today, my app says test on the 25th so I'm challenging myself not to test early this time!

Come join me for 14 days of symptom spotting and a healthy dose of moaning about mean AF.

@Doris19 IC are 'Internet Cheapies'
Such as the one step test strips I bought on amazon, 20x for £2.95!
Good for POAS (piss on a stick) addicts like me!

OMG sorry only just seen your names @ShortandSweet96 and that is such a coincidence - Autumn was on my list too! We are also quite rural so thought it might be too urban/American cool. I love all your options though.

I quite liked Octavia as an alternative but DH said it's a Jilly Cooper book apparently, also no obvious nn and it's a bit unwieldy for day to day...

Doris19 · 12/01/2019 21:32

@ShortandSweet96 I am 🤞🤞🤞 for a girl ideally. I am quite a girly girl, and have one DS already!

First time around I was a bit disappointed initially to be having a boy 🤭 but a friend pointed out that it's actually quite good as DH more likely to take them to rugby/football etc on a Saturday rather than ballet thus giving you a bit of me time back and it's true so there's a real upside there! I would love to be able to buy some cute girl clothes etc though...

ShortandSweet96 · 12/01/2019 22:05

@doris19. I'm exactly the same, but I'm sure when the times comes to find out ill be so excited whatever it is!

@Doris19 thank you, I'd like to find out so could know if there would be anything new to buy and to plan. IC is internet cheapie, pregnancy test/ovulation test. X

Lauraliverpool · 12/01/2019 22:09

@ShortandSweet96 think it would be nice to have a little girl but really don't mind as long as they are healthy and well. Would be nice to buy some pink thing's though for first few months they would have plenty to wear as got lot of neutral things as didn't find out with my son. X

Gumball54 · 12/01/2019 22:19

I have a boy! He’s nearly 10 and I would love another boy! I’d be happy with either though. DH doesn’t mind either way.
I’m taking the seven seas TTC vitamin that has folic acid in it.

ShortandSweet96 · 12/01/2019 22:24

@gumball54 think I'm going to go get some vitamins tomorrow! Can you get them in Superdrug for boots do you think?

OP posts:
Gumball54 · 12/01/2019 22:29

I got them in boots!

Gumball54 · 13/01/2019 10:42

How is everyone today? This wait just drags in doesn’t it?

Doris19 · 13/01/2019 10:57

Googling early symptoms 🙈

HeartvsHead · 13/01/2019 10:58

Hello, can I also join you ladies? Most the other tww threads I seem to be out of sync with! My AF would be due on the 27th(ish) so similar to most of you.

Age: 32
TTC: #2
CD: 21
Cycle: 5

Good luck every one!

Lauraliverpool · 13/01/2019 11:59

I was looking at countdown to pregnancy website last night to see when would be best to test, seems like ages away. X

Gumball54 · 13/01/2019 12:20

Hi @heartvshead!
I keep googling symptoms as well. Can’t help myself. Every month I convince myself this is it and it’s really not 🙈

ShortandSweet96 · 13/01/2019 13:13

Welcome @heartvshead
I'm due the 26th so we're sort of cycle twins!

Also been googling early symptoms like mad and been looking at my tacking app counting down the days until I can test at the earliest!

Doris19 · 13/01/2019 15:06

@Lauraliverpool I had not heard of that countdown to pregnancy website but it looks ace!! That's my evening reading sorted for tonight 😬

What are people's views on which brand of pref test to go for? I can see there's a section on the ctop website that compares them!

Welcome @HeartvsHead

Lauraliverpool · 13/01/2019 17:46

@Doris19 I like going on there as there's different calculators to use and all other information!
I quite like first response tests as easy to read and clear blue rapid response ones too and like the digital ones like seeing it in words. X

ShortandSweet96 · 13/01/2019 18:00

I don't really have a preference on which brand of test but pink dye tests are less likely to give evap lines.

Is everyone here from the UK? Just out of interest

OP posts:
Gumball54 · 13/01/2019 18:17

I’m in the UK. No preference on tests, I usually use the cheap eBay ones.

HeartvsHead · 13/01/2019 18:40

I'm not 100% sure when I ovulate so have been dtd every other day since AF buggered off in the hope we definately catch it this month! Not sure how long to carry on for as technically 2ww is almost here but don't want to miss it.

I used a clear blue digi last time as didn't trust myself to read the result properly! Have not got as far as testing this time round as AF has always turned up before I've bought one (I know if I have them in the house I would end up testing every day!)

I'm in UK. Apparently mid-late Sept is the busiest time of year for midwives so here's hoping we can join the party!

Lauraliverpool · 13/01/2019 18:54

I'm in Liverpool! I'm going to resist testing and everything crossed AF does not show up this month and if she doesn't then will probably test. X

Doris19 · 13/01/2019 19:16

I'm in south UK.

Have got a couple of clear blue digital ones (on offer with the opks in boots!) but going to hold off as long as possible. Going to a wedding though on 26th (AF due ~24th) so reckon I'll test just before as I don't want to drink loads and feel guilty if i do get a positive afterwards!!

ShortandSweet96 · 13/01/2019 19:41

Is having a small ish g&t ok during the tww, I've poured myself one out of habit but I'm too scared to take a sip until approved!

TWW starts now, join me!
OP posts:
Doris19 · 13/01/2019 19:58

I had a small glass of wine last night so I'm all on board with that! 😬

HeartvsHead · 13/01/2019 20:00

The baby gets very little from you until the placenta develops which is a few weeks off so go ahead and sip!!

In the first few weeks most research shows and all or nothing approach with alcohol (but excessive not a couple of G&T's) meaning it will either have no effect at all or cause a miscarriage but as I say that's heavy drinking.

I drank a lot of gin then realised AF was late and did a test the next morning with my DD! She's wonderful so no harm done!!
