Hi guys, starting a new thread for people who are hoping for their first babas to arrive, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or rainbow babies πŸ‘ΆπŸ» 🌈 all in 2019!

I’ll introduce myself. Im 27. I got married in 2017. I got pregnant last February but lost my angel πŸ‘Ό at 20 weeks. It was the most horrible time of my life but I feel like I’ve come out the other side much stronger in myself and my relationship. I’m now on cycle 5. I use flo the app to track ovulation but I think last month and previous I’ve noticed I ovulate a couple of days later than what it tells me. I don’t want to start using OPKS yet and trust my body. (I think I feel when I ovulate)

Feel free to join, let me know a bit about you. And let’s hope we can keep each other sane through this TTC journey.

@Coffeeandcake1

What is the the flo app guide ? Any good ? The app I use and have been using is called P.C seems accurate as my periods are in line with the app but I am regular.

Please to hear @Coffeeandcake1 there has been no more bleeding. Fingers crossed and good luck for the retest xx

Abzi91 · 10/01/2019 21:19

Glad the bleeding has stopped @Coffeeandcake1. Fingers crossed everything is fine 🀞🏽❀️

LanaR · 10/01/2019 21:21

@Abzi91 awww bless and thank you for your wishes, but I'm not getting my hopes up to be honest, maybe becuase of the period symptoms I'm having, but then again our bodies are so confusing as in December I had all the pregnancy symptoms but then started my periods! X

Abzi91 · 10/01/2019 21:24

@LanaR from what I've read, when the egg is released (ovulation) it lives up to 12-24 hours. So since sperm can last up to 7 days, the 'fertile window' is best a few days before and day after, I imagine?
Sorry if any of this is wrong, it's what I've read from googling everything!

LanaR · 10/01/2019 21:32

@Abzi91 thank you and sounds right from what Iv read too. I think I have done so much reading around this topic that my brain freezes out lol and it can feel so overwhelming. X

Ladies can anyone recommend any particular ovulation kits ? Which they think are useful and work (I have bad experience with clear blue)

EmmTTC · 10/01/2019 23:19

@coffeeandcake1 good sign with no bleeding today! Period pains and early pregnancy pains can be very similar. I had terrible cramps for the first 6 weeks when I was pregnant!

@abzi91 flo says Sunday but I usually feel ovulation cramps a day or two after. So I’m going for the Monday. But will hopefully dtd as much as possible over the weekend. When are you due of ovulate? Xx

Chanel05 · 11/01/2019 08:12

@LanaR yes dtd is doing the deed Grin.

The NHS recommends dtd every other day to ensure the man has enough time to produce higher quality sperm (though If he has a normal sperm count I don’t think it matters so much till later on in life). Sperm can live up to 7 days so you don’t necessarily have to have sex on o day but I think there’s a 1% more chance of conceiving if you do. So in any given cycle, If you dtd on ovulation day you might have a 33% chance of conception and the day before may be 32% generally speaking.

@Chanel05 thank you Hun

cosycashmere · 11/01/2019 17:36

Hello all!
We're ttc #2, we have an 18 month old and this is our first month this time round. Last time it happened on the first cycle so preparing myself for a much longer wait this time, which is weird as I never had to deal with the worry and waiting last time.
I'm on CD24, could list some symptoms but know in reality it's just in my head!

LanaR · 11/01/2019 17:53

@cosycashmere hello
What's CD24?

Nextchapter19 · 11/01/2019 18:03

Hi. Im also hoping for a 2019 conception :) I’m 34 and this will be our first baby and first time at TTC. I’m super excited!! Ovulating around the 26th January. I use the Glow App, and also another called Cycles both of which I find pretty user friendly. I also have been using the clearblue ovulation digital tests for the past couple of months to pinpoint the surge in LH. Was exciting to see the smiley face! I look forward to hearing how you all get on!!!!! Im a teacher so trying to not let stress/anxiety get on top of me too much this term as it can affect fertility massively.

FrogsLegs33 · 11/01/2019 18:42

I’ll join!

I’m 33, haven’t had regular cycles till now (induced using progesterone) but we’ve been trying four months.

I use FertilityFriend which is excellent and very in depth! Had used Flo before and didn’t think it was up to much.

I chart BBT, monitor cervical fluid and use OPKs.

I have a TempDrop digital temp sensor. It collects data all night and then you upload it to an app and it is run through an algorithm to filter out disturbances, different waking times etc. It’s ace!!!

OPKs do work as I discovered now I’ve actually ovulated! The thin strips are much less useful than the β€œwide” strips on the market. I use β€œOne Step” and get them from ebay.

I’m 3DPO and although it might not be this month I feel much more positive now I know I have actually ovulated! Smile

Claireb2203 · 11/01/2019 19:02

I had a flashing smiley face yesterday and today so expecting a peak smiley face tomorrow and Sunday which the app says I ovulate Sunday so pretty much on course

Abzi91 · 11/01/2019 23:39

@EmmTTC fingers crossed for this weekend then! Have fun!! 😊🀞🏽
I'm not sure unfortunately due to my irregular cycles! I was on track for 35 day cycles for a little while, but last three have been all over the place. According to Flo I was supposed to ovulate on Wednesday, but I haven't even had a hint of a line on the OPKs since Monday. DTD every other day just incase!
I did have some cramps earlier today strangely.

Welcome to all joining! 😊

EmmTTC · 12/01/2019 00:14

@cosycashmere you may well be lucky and fall pregnant very quickly like last time. Fingers crossed for you xx what symptoms do you have?

@LanaR CD24 or any number is what cycle day your on. Cycle day 1 starts with the first day of your period and then goes up to how ever many days you have in a cycle.

@nextchapter19 how exciting! As frustrating as TTC can be it’s so exciting knowing what you are trying for!! Can’t wait til we are all pregnant with our wee ones! Try not to let it stress you and just enjoy it! Fingers crossed for you this month. Trying is the fun bit πŸ˜›πŸ˜›

@frogslegs33 how do you get on with temping? I wanted to try t because everyone that does it loves it! And gets hooked? Do you have any children already or is this you trying for your first baba?

@claireb2203 exciting!! Have a fun weekend 😏

@abzi91 irregular cycle must be so frustrating. Have you always had them? Opks must be an essential for you. And do you look at CM? Maybe tmi question πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ but that’s always a clear giveaway that I’m ovulating for me!

@coffeeandcake1 how are you getting on?? Xx

Welcome girls. Looks like we have a nice group of people here. Really rooting for you all xxx

cosycashmere · 12/01/2019 06:44

@EmmTTC I've got cramps but exactly the same as what I normally get right before my period, also slightly tingly boobs (feels a bit like a letdown sensation for anyone who has breastfed).
When I was pregnant with my son though I had no cramps and sore boobs not tingly, so I think it's just all in my head. Assumed I would only start to be this level of all-consumed by it after a good few months but no it's got me straight away!

How are you getting on this cycle? Just read the start of the thread properly, so sorry for your loss Biscuit

Coffeeandcake1 · 12/01/2019 08:41

@LanaR Sorry, just saw your question, the Flo app has been good for me. You enter your actual period dates and it shows you when your most likely ovulation date is and the week that you are most fertile and it adjusts according to if your period is early/late etc.

Ive retested after those couple of days with a bit of bleeding with a clear blue and looks still positive (still a bit faint, was hoping for a darker line!) fingers crossed it stays there!

xx

@Nextchapter19 I’m a teacher too! Trying hard this term not to take too much home with me.

LanaR · 12/01/2019 10:59

I am in shock !!! Keep telling myself it can't be the case - I'm questioning the pregnancy test x

Coffeeandcake1 · 12/01/2019 11:04

@LanaR congratulations!! That’s a definite positive Flowers xx

LanaR · 12/01/2019 11:23

@Coffeeandcake1 thank you. I'm in denial and totally shocked x

Abzi91 · 12/01/2019 11:47

@LanaR huge congratulations!! So happy for you!

@Coffeeandcake1 really happy for you, definitely a positive - fingers crossed the line stays!

Hope this good luck stays for us all in the thread! 🀞🏽❀️

@EmmTTC yes unfortunately I've always had them. Was scanned for PCOS quite a few years ago, but no sign luckily. Still doesn't give me any answers though!
I do keep an eye out for EWCM, as well! I agree, it's the easiest way to tell (don't worry about tmi with me - takes a lot πŸ˜‚)
