Hi guys, starting a new thread for people who are hoping for their first babas to arrive, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or rainbow babies πŸ‘ΆπŸ» 🌈 all in 2019!

I’ll introduce myself. Im 27. I got married in 2017. I got pregnant last February but lost my angel πŸ‘Ό at 20 weeks. It was the most horrible time of my life but I feel like I’ve come out the other side much stronger in myself and my relationship. I’m now on cycle 5. I use flo the app to track ovulation but I think last month and previous I’ve noticed I ovulate a couple of days later than what it tells me. I don’t want to start using OPKS yet and trust my body. (I think I feel when I ovulate)

Feel free to join, let me know a bit about you. And let’s hope we can keep each other sane through this TTC journey.

Chanel05 · 09/01/2019 17:21

@Coffeeandcake1 congratulations! You are our first graduate of this thread!

@EmmTTC I currently have af which should finish up by Friday. I don’t ovulate to cd18 so quite a bit of waiting around!

Shefliesonherownwings · 09/01/2019 17:39

Hi all

This is our first month of properly TTC #1. We have been seeing what happens the last couple of months but being a bit more organised this month.

I have the Flo app which predicts ovulation this weekend but have also ordered some OPKs so will start using those this week too for more accuracy. Fingers crossed!

EmmTTC · 09/01/2019 20:39

Hi ladies

Firstly I would like to apologise as I am not fully aware of all the abbreviations which you have been using and may not use them.

I am trying for a baby over the last 6 months and have had no luck as yet. I having been taking supplements such as pregnacare and in addition iron and vitamin d. This last month started using preseed too. I got some blood tests done a few months ago all came back fine. I don't know what I'm doing wrong πŸ˜ͺ

I use an app called P.C to track and monitor my periods. I have a 29 day cycle and start on time each month. I follow the app to monitor when I may be ovulating and follow this. But still no luck πŸ˜ͺ

Any advice would be grateful.
Thanks

EmmTTC · 09/01/2019 21:55

@LanaR Hey! Don’t worry I still have to google abbreviations all the time πŸ˜‚

Do you go my the ovulation date that your app tells you every month? Could be as simple as you ovulate a few days before or after and are missing it? Make sure you are covering all grounds and maybe try ovulation sticks, although I haven’t tried them myself. I’m on cycle 5 or 6 to and it does feel hopeless each month but 6 months isn’t to long to be trying so don’t worry at all.

Your taking all the right supplements so your body is ready for a baba πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

As much as everyone says β€˜relax and it will happen’ I can’t either. But being on here and hearing people’s stories has honestly helped me chill and enjoy trying to conceive more. These girls know exactly how you feel every month and also give you such motivation to keep going and trying. Xxxx

Hi all, hope it's okay I join 😊
I'm 27, TTC #1. We tried for a few months last year, but stopped as I've only been at my job a few months so wanted to make sure I get the right maternity leave when I'm pregnant. So fresh start from now!

I had a weird cycle last month, it lasted 50 days and my period was about 10 days long, which I'm not sure if I should be worried about.. I do usually have irregular periods so I'm using OPKs for the first time (my Flo app is completely wrong which is what I previously used). Think I'll ovulate towards the end of Jan possibly!

Sorry for the long ramble! Just nice to talk about this with people who understand!

@EmmTTC sorry to hear about your loss. I hope this year will be the one for you and all of us! 🀞🏽

@Coffeeandcake1 congrats on your BFP!! How exciting!

LanaR · 10/01/2019 06:26

@EmmTTC thank you for your comforting words 😊 and I'm sorry for your loss.
I tried the ovulation kit on cycle 2 and it showed I was ovulating on my 9th day. Cycle 3 I was ovulating for 4 consecutive days which I found odd!
I have not used them for my ongoing cycles as I thought I'm adding pressure to myself and also was in doubt whether I am doing them right!
Any tips??

LanaR · 10/01/2019 06:27

@Coffeeandcake1 congratulations dear, so pleased for you 😊

Coffeeandcake1 · 10/01/2019 07:35

Thank you for all the messages on the BFP. I have had some some bleeding last night and this morning, a small amount of dark red blood (sorry if tmi) and some period type pain. Has anyone had any experience of this? Is this signs it could just be a chemical pregnancy?
On an emotional rollercoaster right now Sad

LanaR · 10/01/2019 08:08

@Coffeeandcake1 I had bleeding in my second pregnancy through my first trimester. How late are you?

Coffeeandcake1 · 10/01/2019 08:12

@LanaR Im not late yet, period is due Monday, I tested early

LanaR · 10/01/2019 08:26

@Coffeeandcake1 oh ok sorry I misunderstood. I wouldn't worry and try to relax (I know easier said then done) x

Coffeeandcake1 · 10/01/2019 08:46

@LanaR Thank you, I keep telling myself to stop thinking about all the what ifs and see what happens! Im going to leave it a couple of days and test again xx

EmmTTC · 10/01/2019 09:46

@Abzi91 welcome! I think I was on a previous October thread with you I recognise your name. It’s gone v quiet over there hence the new thread :) that’s exciting your starting to TTC again. Irregular periods must be frustrating. But aslong as you can get to grips with opks you’ll be fine πŸ€—

I honestly haven’t tried opks @lanaR maybe @chanel05 or @abzi91 can help you out in that department. There is all different factors eg water intake and time of taking them. I might try in a few months if nothing goes my way.

@coffeeandcake1 what a worry for you but the exact same thing happened to my best friend a few of weeks ago and she’s still 9.5 weeks pregnant so try not to be discouraged now although easier said than done I know Xxxx

@EmmTTC
Everyone is like try and relax and it will happen I just feel so disheartened that what else can I do! I feel like I'm trying in every way and doing what needs to be doing. In previous cycles especially the last last, I had such severe symptoms where I totally believed I may be pregnant, however that was not the case.
Now I'm just totally put off by any symptoms or different feelings in my body, have just ignored them this month 😞
I'm approaching my period this weekend and usually start like clock work so let's see what happens. Xx

EmmTTC · 10/01/2019 11:57

@LaraR I know it’s very difficult! I’ve been there! One month I was sure! I was nauseated, sore boobs, the works! I went and bought a pregnancy test with my husband and was already talking about who I’d tell that day! My mum etc and how I’d tell them. Went home and negative! It was so depressing 😩😩😩

What else can we do but try again the next month... life can be very cruel. Xxxx

Chanel05 · 10/01/2019 20:15

@LanaR I’ve used quite a lot of opks in the last 7 cycles and it hasn’t made a difference as I’ve had no hint of a bfp! I went to the doctor on Monday and my doctor told me just to dtd every other day for two weeks so maybe give that a go before turning to opks? I had one month where I didn’t use them and admittedly I was less stressed.

Claireb2203 · 10/01/2019 20:30

@Coffeeandcake1 did u use ovulation tests?

Coffeeandcake1 · 10/01/2019 21:06

@Claireb2203 I didnt use ovulation kits, I was planning on getting some for next month! My cycle is very regular so I was able to know roughly when I was ovulating, using the Flo app is a guide but have ket in mind that you can ovulate either side if the β€œkey” date.
No more bleeding today and still have some period type pains so will try testing again in a day or so!

Abzi91 · 10/01/2019 21:15

@EmmTTC yes your name did seem familiar as well! Glad you started a new thread 😊 Thanks! hopefully with OPKs and dtd often it'll work 🀞🏽 when are you due to ovulate?

I was in the same boat as you one month and I was on holiday with my best friends! Sore boobs, smells made me feel so nauseated and I got so excited but it was a bfn :( Our bodies are so confusing!!

Wish I could help with OPKs @LanaR - it's my first month using them and I'm still getting to grips with them! Sorry I can't offer much advise, but I hope you get some positive news this weekend! πŸ€—

LanaR · 10/01/2019 21:16

@Chanel05
dtd - did you mean 'doing the deed' sorry not great with the abbreviations lol
We have been dtd every other day and no luck as yet.

Can anyone explain how does ovulation work? If you are ovulating should you be dtd on that day or the days leading up to it? X
