Crushing disappointment of TTC

TTC number 2 and struggling with the miserable disappointment every month. DD took quite a long time to conceive. Tried for a year, fell pregnant then miscarried at 9 weeks then pregnant again 3 months later. Been trying for number 2 since August and stupidly convinced myself it would be quicker this time due to friends' experiences. But here we are on cycle 5. The not knowing is the worst bit - it could happen this month, it might never happen.

I know that no-one can give me any reassurances but I just wanted to have a moan!

I fished this morning's test out of the bin for some inexplicable reason and saw a faint second line, which is clearly an evaporation line. Just did another test to confirm and it's negative Sad

Thanks @TheChineseChicken

Thanks @Otter88 I am starting to get board of water but trying to stick to it! Yes I'm looking forward to a weekend away / just made raspberry and chocolate brownies to take with us- naughty but hopefully nice!

MummyBearBoo · 08/02/2019 17:17

So feeling quite good at the mo lost 1st 2lbs so far since October and my AF was due today but not showed up yet - if it doesn't come by tomorrow morning I'll do a test -think I have false hope at the mo but if I'm not pregnant I'll just focus on losing weight - I am a healthy weight according to BMI now but want to lose another 8lbs -good luck to everyone else still in! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 07:46

Got my BFP this morning dunno what to do now coz I've never known this early think I'll wait a bit before calling the Doctors like a week or something! Last couple of times I didn't know til 5 or 6 weeks coz wasn't TTC so wasn't really keeping track and I had a long cycle!

codenameduchess · 09/02/2019 07:49

how is everyone doing?

I'm on CD 35 now and according to my tracking app af is due tomorrow... I've been having what I told myself were symptoms- nausea, cramping, dizziness and upset tummy. But these are actually side affects of the metformin so most likely that. Tested the other day at 10DPO and bfn.

DD is being particularly challenging right now, the tantrums and screaming are wearing away what little sanity I have left! Between being down about ttc, still feeling rubbish from the bug I've had and DD screaming at me all day it's not going well. (I was punched yesterday because DD wet the bed and it was somehow my fault 🤷🏼‍♀️)

TheChineseChicken · 09/02/2019 08:52

Morning all. Any updates from symptom spotters? I think I should have ovulated yesterday although I'm not sure if the CP would have messed with my cycle or not so will carry of DTD. I should really have used OPKs this month to check.

Pinkrose enjoy your weekend away!

Code sending you strength to deal with DD. It's so hard when they're in that kind of mood. When are you planning to test, will you just wait to see if AF turns up?

Mummy I use saw this, congratulations! That's fantastic news I really hope this works out for you and you can enjoy it without worrying too much.

codenameduchess · 09/02/2019 09:08

@MummyBearBoo congratulations!

@TheChineseChicken I think I'll just see if af shows up, assuming some time between 10-17 feb... cramping today but can't tell if it's my tummy trouble, af or what 🤷🏼‍♀️🤞 we've made it to gymnastics this morning without much fuss, I'm hopeful for the rest of the day with the toddler 😂

MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 09:09

Thanks @TheChineseChicken can't celebrate til I know if 11 week genetic testing is ok!! Xx

pinkstar01 · 09/02/2019 10:15

@TheChineseChicken I've been temping and my chart is looking good..had a dip at 7dpo which could be implantation and then temps have risen higher since, I had quite bad shortness of breath last night which was strange, I was struggling to read my DS his bedtime story! But I still don't think it means anything, it never does 😪
9dpo today

MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 11:01

The onlyy symptoms I had were slightly tender boobs but I probably wouldn't noticed if I wasn't looking for something! Xx

TheChineseChicken · 09/02/2019 11:18

That's the problem Pinkstar everything can either be a symptom... or not

Mummy I have never had symptoms when first pregnant. Are you planning to have the Harmony test?

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 13:38

What's the harmony test? X

Otter88 · 09/02/2019 15:08

@MummyBearBoo congrats to you! I have everything crossed that am remains ok! I was thinking the other day that with the and pregnancy, it's a series of hurdles. You wait to get that BFP and then it's the wait to the 12 weeks scan etc etc.

@codenameduchess hang in there and be kind to yourself. I'm glad things with DD are better today :) sending positive vibes for some good news in the next 2 week's.

I'm at 10DPO, AF due on Thursday. I normally get a show the night before. Don't the days just drag at this time? I've failed on not symptom spotting and googling - I've definitely got tender boobs, CM galore and both seem more intense than previous but again i could just be wanting to convince myself. Such torture! I'm trying to take each day as it comes however that's done! Haha.

TheChineseChicken · 09/02/2019 15:29

Mummy I thought that's what you meant by 11 week genetic testing. It is s blood year they use to check for chromosomal abnormalities (not on NHS yet)

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 15:34

Oh no I have to have CVS coz it's the only way they can test for the gene for the genetic condition I have (which gets worse by generation) if it has the condition j won't be able to proceed with the pregnancy! 😢 xx

MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 15:38

I know what you mean @Otter88 -I have to make it to 11 weeks then get the ok from the test then wait 2 more weeks coz the CVS can cause MC then got to get the ok from the 20 weeks anomaly scan etc there's just so much to get past before you get a healthy baby but most of the odds are in our favour (tho my 11 weeks test is only 50/50) and you've got to get pregnant before all that!!! xx

codenameduchess · 09/02/2019 16:14

Sending positive vibes your way @MummyBearBoo hope the weeks go quickly for you

I think af is due tomorrow (according to glow) but last cycle info said 17th. Still having cm when I normally wouldn't see it and I swear there was a faint line on an internet cheapie test earlier- drove myself crazy and couldnt really tell if it was a line or indent so binned it and will test again Friday if no af. Not hopeful but it'll stop me obsessively testing!

MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 19:01

Fingers crossed for you @codenameduchess - I had cm longer than normal too before I got my BFP so could be a good sign!! Xx

Jduh · 09/02/2019 20:53

@MummyBearBoo congratulations!!

MummyBearBoo · 09/02/2019 23:15

Thanks @Jduh - think I'll be testing again tomorrow morning still can't quite believe it!! Xx

TheChineseChicken · 10/02/2019 07:17

Sorry to hear that Mummy, I hadn't realised. What a worry for you. Really hope you get the all clear.

Code that's very disciplined of you! Fingers crossed AF doesn't put in an appearance before Friday.

How is everyone else?

I met up with old friends last night and had more wine than I intended. Now I'm worried that I've ruined my chances this month but I'm sure it doesn't really affect anything unless your alcohol consumption is excessive for a long period of time..?

OP posts:
codenameduchess · 10/02/2019 07:47

@TheChineseChicken I'm sure you'll be fine, one night won't hurt your chances 😊

MummyBearBoo · 10/02/2019 08:36

Totally confused so my BFP was on a clear blue test yesterday but I didn't have anymore of theirs left so I did a supermarket cheapie this morning which looked negative but I've had no bleeding and AF is now 3 days late (and I've always led 2 weeks after ov at he latest which would have been Friday!) I've got some CB tests to come tonight and will do one again tomorrow morning - if it was CP I would have bled wouldn't I? Anyone have any experience are supermarket cheapies less sensitive than CB coz with it only being 2 weeks and depending on when it implanted I'm guessing my HCG wouldn't be that high yet? I know they say a false positive is less likely than a false negative and also the hospital told last time that a CB test is actually better than the urine tests they have! I might book a GP appt tomorrow for a blood test!!! I didn't use a line one either is was one the digital ones that said Pregnant 1-2 weeks!!! Xx

TheChineseChicken · 10/02/2019 08:43

Mummy with my CP last month the lines on the tests got fainter and I actually got a negative clear blue digital a few hours before I started bleeding. Having said that, you might be fine - I don't think supermarket tests are particularly sensitive. Can you get a FRER today as I think they are the most sensitive? Hopefully the clear blue will give you the answer you want tomorrow. Try not to panic, although I know it's hard

@TheChineseChicken How late were you before you stared bleeding or had you not missed a period yet? X
