Pregnant after vascetomy?

ExH had this done 6 years ago and for 3 years we were together. No contraception and it was fine.

We separated for 3 years after that and we had no sexual contact.

We started sleeping together again recently and my period is 5 days late.

I've felt like it was starting for a week now but nothing.

Is it possible?I feel like I'm being silly but am still worried

I guess the only way you'll know for sure is to test. I thought it could still happen although slim x

WishingIDidnot · 07/12/2018 19:14

I guess so

I've still not started

Could he have had a reversal and not told you?

Also (depending on your age) could this perhaps be peri? Happens at different ages.

Thesearmsofmine · 07/12/2018 19:35

It’s a small chance but it does happen, I read up on this not too long back.

WishingIDidnot · 07/12/2018 20:48

I'm 31

Definitely no reversal. We stayed close. I would know.

@WishingIDidnot - are you going to test? X

Hushnownobodycares · 07/12/2018 21:03

It can and does happen, family member being an example. Test.

dementedpixie · 07/12/2018 21:07

I missed a period for no reason a few months ago. Dh has had a vasectomy and I did worry and take a couple of tests but they were negative

PenrodPooch · 07/12/2018 21:17

I'd get a test and check to be certain

Florries · 07/12/2018 21:27

Sorry if this comes across as a bit personal op, but is there anyone else you slept with this month? Even with protection?

Otherwise, unless he's had it reversed on the sly, I'm sure you're just late.

Ellapaella · 07/12/2018 21:29

Did he get checked afterwards? DH has to send sperm samples off after his to ensure it had 'worked' properly. If he didn't do that at the time then yes it's possible you could be.

FannyAndMoonFace · 07/12/2018 21:31

I suppose you'll need to test to know for sure! Good luck OP.

KitKat1985 · 07/12/2018 21:33

Have you been unwell or anything recently? That can throw your periods out of whack. But yes, only real way to know is do a test.

WishingIDidnot · 07/12/2018 23:22

He never got tested.

I assumed because we had 3 years with no issues it was ok.

I've not slept with any other men, ever Blush

WishingIDidnot · 07/12/2018 23:23

I'm going to give it a few more days. If not on by Monday I will test.

Starlight456 · 07/12/2018 23:25

Will be a long weekend . I would trst

Starlight456 · 07/12/2018 23:26

Test even 😳

WishingIDidnot · 07/12/2018 23:27

Not really. I don't want to test so it won't feel like a wait. I want AF to turn up!
I thought all this shite was behind me

Thesearmsofmine · 08/12/2018 10:25

Why on earth didn’t he get tested after? When you have a vasectomy they tell you to use contraception until you have been tested.

When my DH was tested the first time his sperm count was still too high and he had to go back again six months later, it was made very clear to us that we must use contraception until he had been given the all clear.

DrDreReturns · 08/12/2018 11:17

Yep I was tested three times after my vasectomy before I got the all clear. Though I guess you were having unprotected sex with him before you split up so it's still a bit of a mystery.

Tiredteacherlass · 08/12/2018 11:23

How do you know you are late... are you tracking ovulation?

WishingIDidnot · 08/12/2018 11:59

We had 3 years of unprotected sex with no issue.

How do I know I'm late? Because I'm an adult woman and I know the date my period is due each month Confused

OP posts:
Tiredteacherlass · 08/12/2018 12:14

You do realise that cycles can vary in length surely? You can ovulate later when then knocks on the rest of the cycle

WishingIDidnot · 08/12/2018 12:36

I am a mother of 3 children and I am well aware how my cycle works and when my period is due, although I am not TTC I do recognise my ewcm and ovulation pains and I know my luteal phase times thank you. Hmm

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 08/12/2018 12:38

My cycle is around 25 days but in June it was 51 days for no reason.
