@Lilimum6 I'm so sorry, just know that you are not alone x

Hi everyone, this is a thread I was hoping not to be commenting on

I am Jayne I am 37 and am TTC
I have had 2 failed IVFs and then fell naturally with my daughter now 18 months old.
I am technically pregnant however am 99% sure I am going through a miscarriage. I am 5-6 weeks and we had a scan Saturday which showed the sac with no heartbeat (which is normal - thought i was further on) but then last night i started to bleed and its medium in terms of heaviness. I have had a clot today as well - we have EPU scan Tuesday but I am pretty sure its a MC.

So we will be trying again ASAP for our second baby - hopefully straight away - you hear positive stories of people falling pregnant quite quickly xx

Ann88l · 06/01/2019 15:58

@Laney79 thank you for the support! My MC started 8th December and lasted about 8/9days. It's my first time TTC so I am a bit clueless. I have PSO and didn't think I would conceive so quickly, it only took 3 months.
I guess I am just hoping for a miracle...I know it's pretty unlikely to fall instantly.

I'm just finding there is a lack of information out there. The leaflet they gave me was beyond unhelpful.

Laney79 · 06/01/2019 16:19

@Lilimum6 how far away are you from Coventry? I'd be tempted to push for a referall there -it's a Tommy's clinic run by prof Siobhan Quenby. She's one of the leading specialists in miscarriage and does a lot with so called natural killer cells. If not have a google and look at the work she does see if your local rmc will do any of the tests she does.

In terms of testing I'd be asking for everything as @Yukka says. I also read the book so would echo that recommendation..Thrombophilia screen, sticky blood screen, thyroid check including antibodies, vitamin checks, MTHFR mutation, karyotyping/genetic testing on you and OH, checks/scans for pcos or endo. You've been through hell-it's time they got to the bottom of it. Xxx

Chilliandlime · 06/01/2019 16:20

@Lilimum6 there is a list of standard tests on the Tommys website in case it's helpful: www.tommys.org/our-organisation/help-and-support/clinical-trials and then 'tests available' near the bottom, Coventry also does uNK cells but not on the NHS x

Lilimum6 · 06/01/2019 16:21

@Yukka they said there is evidence of a pregnancy but there lots of free flowing blood clots and hcg is coming down. So it's waiting for the bleeding to start now or choose erpc because I don't want the medical management again x

Laney79 · 06/01/2019 16:21

@Ann88l when did you get your negative test? You could be one of the lucky ones chick-you never know. I'd wait a few days then test again if you want-although word of warning...I did this, convinced myself I was pregnant and the negative test hit me like a ton of bricks. It's really hard x

Ann88l · 06/01/2019 16:27

@Laney79 I got my negative test on Thursday...I did do the test in the middle of the day. I'm guessing when I'm due on and have no idea when I ovulated.
I'd had the implant for 2 years, I've only had regular periods since September so I really don't have much to go on.
I keep reading posts and hoping that I may have similar luck. I hate the waiting game...

Lilimum6 · 06/01/2019 16:28

@Yukka she also said the reason I'm having issues might be that my cervix is closed and I have trouble with dilation so things aren't clearing out properly. So blood comes away and clots are hanging around until they break down. Another reason I'm not keen on medical management. Erpc looks like the best option if my body doesn't do it itsself

Laney79 · 06/01/2019 16:58

@Ann88l was that your first negative after the MC? X

Ann88l · 06/01/2019 17:02

@Laney79 yes....I haven't done a test since though.

Laney79 · 06/01/2019 18:14

If you can I'd probably leave it a couple of days, unless you feel you have symptoms starting. I'd also get some cheap tests - sadly as lots of us can tell you, you become a POAS (pee on a stick) addict after MC-be they opks or hpts. Xxx

@Lilimum6 I wish we could do something to help. Hugs zzz

Hello ladies, can I join you please?
I thought infertility was a lonely journey but I seem to have entered a new level of no one to talk to!
I’m 33, DH is 36
TTC our first child nearly 4 years
First bfp ever just before Xmas
MC this week at 6 weeks although looks like it stopped developing pretty early on.

Just feeling very lost and not sure where to turn next.
Janey

strawberrye · 08/01/2019 10:32

Welcome @Janey15 and I am so sorry to hear about your loss, especially after infertility - that must be incredibly difficult. This group is a wonderful bunch of supportive ladies, I hope we can help you feel less isolated and alone Flowers

Yukka · 08/01/2019 18:24

@janey15 so sorry to hear about your loss, there are a few others here who have also lost after a long period of ttc. You’re not alone, we all know how you are feeling ❤️

Thank you @strawberrye and @Yukka
I’m feeling very low today and keen to get back to ‘normal’ but not sure I’ll be ready to ttc straight away, although DH is keen as he’s convinced it’ll work next time Hmm

RedRobin7 · 10/01/2019 11:13

Hi ladies!

I am back after a short break. So many new names on this thread so for those who don't know me:

I'm 30 and TTC #1. I had a MMC in March 18 at my 12 week scan. We had already seen the baby and heard the heartbeat at an earlier scan so it was a shock. I decided to have the surgical management because by 13 weeks my body still thought I was pregnant and I couldn't bear it. We tried again in June and we were successful straight away at getting pregnant but had a natural miscarriage around 7 weeks. My work added to my health insurance so that I could be tested - only observations were a heart shaped uterus and high androgen levels. I'm now on metformin twice a day and will have a hysteroscopy at the end of February to check how severe the dip is in my uterus.

We were told end of September we could start trying again as the metformin was more likely to help than the hysteroscopy. However, my husband, who is anxious and depressed, decided he didn't want to try for a baby again - ever. That's why I left MN! After several months of talking and crying (a lot!), he has decided we will try at the end of this month. I worry my husband has only changed his mind because he's scared I'll leave him but it's a risk worth taking as he's going to be an amazing dad some day. I believe in him, even if he doesn't! If I don't get pregnant next cycle then I'll have the hysteroscopy and then we will try again after. I'm not sure how long it takes to recover if they cut away tissue.

We had sex between Xmas and NY (3 and 4 days before ovulation) but my husband decided to withdraw because it was before deciding to try... so although in my head there's not really much chance I'm pregnant, my boobs are sore and I had some cramping around 7 and 8dpo so I'm driving myself insane having to wait! I haven't had sore boobs since my first pregnancy a year ago. I used to have them every month a week before my period but the first miscarriage messed that up.

Sorry for the long post. I will catch up today and see how you are all doing. @Lilimum6 I'm so sorry to read you've had another loss. @KnitKitty Good luck in your new job... you've been waiting a long time to start that!!

rdm10 · 10/01/2019 11:50

Hello, not been on for a while. So I made it through Christmas ok, still bleeding but only a little bit. Had a scan last week hoping to see it had all gone but there was still a ‘mass’ there. Had a blood test and was told if my hcg was less than 1 they were happy it would just resolve by itself. It was 39! So I’m back for another scan now and it’s still there! Just waiting to see the dr to see what happens next. These things are never simple are they!

Sorry to see newbies here. Hopefully your stay is a short one.
@RedRobin7 nice to ‘see’ you. Fingers crossed for you. When will you be testing?

Beaglemum93 · 10/01/2019 12:46

Sorry to hear you've had another loss @Lilimum6 :(

I got a letter through from the community midwife about a home visit... I lost my baby in October, how can they still have me on their list?! It's just another reminder that I should be over half way through my pregnancy and instead I'm in the stupid tww again :(

Lilimum6 · 10/01/2019 13:06

@rdm10 sorry your having a rubbish time hun. What was 39 your hcg
@Beaglemum93 unbelievable I would be so cross and have to say something to them.
@RedRobin7 welcome back hun hopefully not for long though Smile

Laney79 · 10/01/2019 16:21

Oh @rdm10 what a nightmare, I'm really sorry. What did the dr say? 39 isn't very high for hcg is it? Can they give you something to help bring on AF to see if that will help?

@RedRobin7 glad you have worked things out with the hubby. Fingers crossed for you.

@Beaglemum93 definitely tell them how upset that made you-they should have better systems in place. Hugs.

@Lilimum6 how are you doing?

I'm feeling a bit better this past week. Felt so low in the run up and over Xmas, and the bust ups at home didn't help. But my fella is doing better mentally which helps a lot. Positive opk today and dtd Tuesday night, so hoping we have a good shot this month...no chance of more tonight but will try and use my feminine whiles for tomorrow eve/sat so we have covered ovulation at both ends. I'm trying not to get hopes up but it feels like it should be our month. Cycle getting back to normal (today is CD14, so ovulating about right as opposed to previous cycle of 35 days and 53 for first af post second MMC), well timed BD, just gotta hope for good egg and sperm to meet and bed into my uterus. Please please - really need a better 2019! Xxx

KnitKitty · 10/01/2019 19:11

Hello to the new people on this thread. I am so, so sorry for your losses. Huge hugs.

@RedRobin7 hi! It's really funny, I was going to message you to see how you were doing; and here you are! I'm so pleased that you'll be getting back in to TTC; I know how hard it was for you to stop. I really hope that the meds will help everything run smoothly with your next pregnancy.

Today marks one year since the official start of my first pregnancy.
I also finished my "old" job today and got a card from my colleagues which is a load of peas looking sad and it says "peas don't leave"... It was a bit weird as I called my first pregnancy Little Pea and so refer to all the ones I lost as the peas...

I have my appointment through for my endocrinology appointment... It's not until March. I don't mind too much as I'll be settling in to my new job and have been thinking how I should wait to TTC again anyway until after my sister's wedding which is at the end of April. I don't want to be going through another miscarriage during a wedding and need some time in my new job before TTC anyway.
I don't have any results about my MRI scans yet. I'm going ring my consultant's secretary tomorrow and see if they are able to send me a letter with the results as I'll be waiting a while for an appointment.

So the waiting game continues for me.
Hope everyone else is as well as can be. xxx

@Boboelephant Have you started IVF yet? Thinking of you. xxx

MakeLemonade · 10/01/2019 19:23

It really feels like this thread is due some good news! Come on 2019, let’s get some BFPs around here.

I went back to work this week after three months off. Grief hit me like a ten tonne truck and I cried for about two hours before managing to walk through the door on my first morning. It felt totally overwhelming. I should have been going off on maternity leave this week, not returning after bereavement leave. Ugh.

Onwards and upwards, I’m CD6 and going to try SMEP this month. I might try temping the following month if no joy.

Beaglemum93 · 10/01/2019 19:30

Sorry you had a tough time going back to work @MakeLemonade. I've done SMEP this cycle too. I really hope we get some good luck on this thread soon!

Lilimum6 · 10/01/2019 19:48

@Laney79 thanks for asking hun. Tbh crap I was really hoping my crappy body would do the decent thing for once and handle this one it's self but no sign of that happening at the mo. I really can not go through medical management again but I don't want another erpc either. Fingers crossed 🤞 for that bfp this month for you xx
Any how I've another scan on the 20th and talk about what to do if nothing happens before then.
I could do with a better year as I'm sure all you ladies could xx
