Hey girls, I’m 8DPO today a few wee symptoms but nothing major.

Was just wondering if anybody has had small stabbing pains in their tummy? Mine are on the left side but in line with my belly button so not down low.. any ideas? X

@MrsMcNtobe I've had the odd pains like that but I also get those from trapped wind. I can relate most of my TWW symptoms to IBS....

So I need a little help here. I have 3 parties to go to in the next week and I need some excuses for not drinking!

@cupcakesandglitter sounds like you are having a tough time, I hope your doctor can give you some idea of whats going on. Is it definitely AF?

I think I had my ovulation pain and bleed yesterday so counting that as OD, if that's correct? I am officially 1DPO for the first time. This will probably drive me mad and I am sure I will question ever cramp and feeling I have 😫

Thankyou @FlapJackered @CookieWaffle @DayDreamer1707 I've actually decided not to call the doctor, I think it'll make me more anxious and I just need to relax and count it as a blip. I've not yet had my letter come through for the scan so I'm going to wait for that I think. It's a v weird one, it's more brown spotting (nothing on my pad overnight) but also definitely there when I wipe?

Also @DayDreamer1707 that sounds good, I'd say you're 1DPO!

@CookieWaffle maybe say you're not drinking because you're on a new diet? DH has said he won't drink when I don't so we can both say we're on it x

@cupcakesandglitter so there is still a chance it isn't your period then. I know how having random spotting makes you question everything. I'm only guessing it was Ovulation bleeding yesterday because I've no idea what else it could be. Maybe like you said try and stay calm and see how you get on for the rest of the day. I know when I do have AF I have nothing really through the night and then I'm heavier during the morning, but that is red not brown? Hopefully your scan appointment will come through soon or you will have answer before that x

Does this mean I'm now in my first TWW, I don't technically know when I will have my next AF!!

@cupcakesandglitter I can understand that and if you have your scan booked it's worth seeing what that brings up and chatting to your doc when you have all the info.

@CookieWaffle if they are bars just order a tonic with lime and ice and say it's a gin and tonic or if it's a restaurant you could ring ahead on the day and ask if they could give you just tonic if you ask for a G&T and tell them what you are going to wear.
If it's a house party perhaps bring gin and tonic (and only drink tonic) or decant no alcohol wine into a normal screw top wine bottle and take it with you and keep it hidden there somewhere?
It depends how much you're worried about people finding out. I have come up with lots of strategies as I know my friends will be looking out for it, and I quite like the challenge of trying to keep it secret until 12 weeks! 😂

@DayDreamer1707 I suppose, I've just checked and nothing really on my pad, when I wipe it's a really watery light pink though so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ don't think it's ov as I had my positive on weds which is way too late if I ovd yesterday. Just gonna ride it out 😩 yeah this is your TWW, average LP (time from ov to AF) is 14 days but I think can range from 10-16 or something? So a couple of weeks x

It does sound early to be af, I used to get random spotting in the middle of my cycle and my doc said it was nothing to worry about. Really feel for you though as it's horrible not knowing what is going on. ❤️

@FlapJackered wow you have just helped me massively for the future, Brilliant. If I wasn't drinking people would know something was up (no I'm not an alcoholic I just love my wine 🙈). You've actually made it sound fun rather than an issue ha!

@cupcakesandglitter unfortunately I actually think our bodies like throwing us off, it's like it works against you sometimes! Could it be implantation? Is it mixed with CM?

I am prob best holding out for 16 days at the lest if no sign of AF might could be even longer though I suppose, have to see if I get an symptoms. I know last time my boobs killed!!

@CookieWaffle Just order fakes! Tonic and lime, etc. If you ask the bar staff to put it in a gin glass no one will have a clue :)

I’m getting a bit stressed out today. Still no sign of AF (now a day late), boobs sore and now today I have a sharp pain in my lower back. Neither of these are usual AF symptoms but two tests have come back BFN. Feeling a bit rubbish about it all. If it’s AF I wish she’d bloody hurry up.

@cupcakesandglitter maybe this isn’t af and is either implantation spotting or just random mid cycle spotting

DH and I booked a holiday for next year last night so yesterday I went through all my predicted cycle dates and worked out for each one, if I conceived then, when I’d be 12 weeks, 20 weeks etc so we could book a holiday that didn’t clash with any important scan dates. I think I’ve lost it 😂😂😂

@DayDreamer1707 @stormtrooperjulian I keep finding threads where it's happened to other people and it's turned out to be implantation, but I just can't get my head round it I guess because I feel so negative 😩 omg Storm! You're so organised I love it!! Where are you off too? X

@stormtrooperjulian this sounds like something I would do, it's crazy how it can totally take over. But this just shows how much you deserve it!!

@cupcakesandglitter maybe try and just think its your AF and then anything else is a massive positive. I know that's easier said than done of course. When would you be due AF? Sorry if you have already said x

@stormtrooperjulian I'm doing similar but holding off booking anything at the moment because my eventual pregnancy will be complicated due to health reasons . It's good to plan ahead!

@cupcakesandglitter I would try and hold out until then and see what happens. It could be a number of things I suppose which is the annoying thing! Like @stormtrooperjulian said it could just be random spotting or hopefully implantation bleeding. I don't think it's anything to worry about which is one positive. Nothing is ever text book when it comes to conceiving and pregnancy. Least I'm only a couple of days behind you x

I feel really nauseous today and thought that could be a pregnancy symptom - checked my previous charts and I have listed nausea at 10dpo on every single cycle! 😂🙈

AF is here 🤷🏻‍♀️ Doctor is going to give me a call later. I'm so fucking fed up I don't even want to TTC anymore
