@cupcakesandglitter i temp and take opks so I know when I ovulate then your lp is not really meant to change more than a day or so each cycle, are you taking opks?

@sunshine1987 have you told any of your family yet or are you going to wait?
Also out of interest what cycle is this for you?

cupcakesandglitter · 25/11/2018 12:07

@KatBeCool @FlapJackered I actually gave up on OPKs because I was getting too stressed out with them - this month I did it for bloods and I got a near enough positive one evening, the next day was negative at lunch so I'm guessing I had my surge in between. I get cramps a few days before I ovulate which is why I'm not sure which day to count as ov day x

Also! I've done some reading (obviously because I can't keep off threads/google) and I think I may have figured out why I have alternating one long period and one short - I may have a lazy ovary!! Apparently loads of women have it so they'll have a short cycle where their good ovary releases an egg, and then the long cycle is from their not so good ovary releasing one because it works harder to produce the right level of hormone! Doesn't explain why I was regular and suddenly switched but hey that explanation works for me right now 😂

Morning all!

Still no sign of AF. Quick straw poll- do I POAS today, Y/N?

CookieWaffle · 25/11/2018 12:57

Thanks ladies and thanks @MrsEG, it's not been easy! :)

ValidUser · 25/11/2018 13:07

@AngeloMysterioso do it!

autumnfires · 25/11/2018 13:10

@sunshine1987 @cookiewaffle @MrsEG how long have you been trying? I absolutely love a bfp story. Good luck and congrats!

I've been silently lurking for a little while now and it was starting to feel a bit weird 😂 This is by far my fave thread on here. But I must confess I'm ttc my second babe. I had my ds 11 years ago. Different circumstances. Different OH etc. Feels like lifetime ago.

I'm 31, Got married in August and we're on to cycle #4. Finding ttc a bit intense. Have had a regular 27 day cycle since forever. Always start with couple days spotting then heavy two days then tails off. Then all of a sudden this month; 29 day cycle and 9 day af 🤯 nightmare! Not sure why it changed 🤔 maybe I want to be pregnant so much I actually willed myself 2 days late !! or just biological response to pregnacare and reflexology.

Currently cd11, ovulate in couple days so just got to sit tight and let nature do it's thing I guess.

Love following you ladies- keeps me going throughout the month and bfps are so reassuring. Thought it was time to say hi 🤗

sunshine1987 · 25/11/2018 13:13

@flapjackered not yet, was going to wait but I don’t know if I can, just in case. In reality there is no way I’m going to get through Christmas/December without them all guessing anyway as I’m a bit Prosecco lover 🙈 would rather we told our family than they guessed based on me not drinking.

@autumnfires I came off the pill last December and decided to see what happened but properly trying, this is cycle 7 x

sunshine1987 · 25/11/2018 13:15

Plus welcome @autumnfires, these girls are the best 💜

CookieWaffle · 25/11/2018 13:16

Hey @autumnfires, I'm 40 and have been wanting kids since my 20s but life never goes the way you want it to ;) We started trying in April and if this one is successful I should feel quite lucky really! Good luck to you for this cycle xx

BabySquid · 25/11/2018 13:21

Hi guys, massive congratulations to @CookieWaffle and @sunshine1987

I think I've taken my BFN yesterday harder than I thought and with us taking a break from trying for a couple of months I've decided to leave you all for a while. I wish you all the very very best of luck. 😘😘

AngeloMysterioso · 25/11/2018 13:24

Scratch my last post- looks like AF is finally on the approach. I'm almost happy about it as I didn't think I was pregnant- if anything I'm annoyed at how much money I wasted on tests!

ValidUser · 25/11/2018 13:26

@BabySquid I feel your pain. I'm really struggling too with my dodgy tubes. I just feel like such a failure. Look after yourself and we're here for you. X

AngeloMysterioso · 25/11/2018 13:34

So, now I'm back on CD1, can someone please give me an idiots guide to OPKs/charting/FF app etc? I am literally clueless about that whole shebang.

MrsR16 · 25/11/2018 14:05

Oh wow, how much did I miss?!? Huge congratulations @sunshine1987 @CookieWaffle and @MrsEG - spread some of your amazing babydust! 😊 xx

MrsEG · 25/11/2018 14:22

Thanks @Mrsr16! Still trying not to get too excited, will test again once my AF is actually late!

@autumnfires welcome! I have been TTC casually since April but properly for 6 cycles - I was pregnant in April but had an early MC. So if I really have managed to fall pregnant this month it’s happened again very fast!!

Crossfitgirl · 25/11/2018 15:10

@flapjackered it's been between 9 and 11 days, it either varies - or I've maybe tracked my ovulation a day or two out each month.
@cupcakesandglitter I count from the day after my positive OPK to the first day of my period for my LP xx

FlapJackered · 25/11/2018 17:12

@Crossfitgirl in that case I would test on 12dpo if no temp drop (although I probably would end up testing on 11dpo...or 10!)😂

@AngeloMysterioso sorry to hear about af lovely. At least you can enjoy some mulled wine in the run up to Christmas. Small bonus!
Opks you can either get the cheapie ones off amazon which you start taking depending on the length of your cycle around cd10-14. With the cheapies you want to test 2 or three times a day. I do morning, around 2pm and last thing at night. With these you need a line as dark or darker than the control line. Then once you get this you are likely to ovulate between 12-36 hours after.
Then there are also the clearblue monitor ones which detect two hormones, you do this with fmu and it gives you a flashing smiley when you're approaching ov and a static smiley when you are about to ovulate (again 12-36hours after) clear blue are easier but more expensive, the monitor lasts 2/3 cycles.
Hope that helps!

FlapJackered · 25/11/2018 17:14

Welcome @autumnfires !

FlapJackered · 25/11/2018 17:19

@BabySquid sorry you're having a tough time of it lovely. It's so hard isn't it. Take care of yourself. I hope we hear from you again soon with news of a bfp. ❤️

AngeloMysterioso · 25/11/2018 18:07

Thanks @FlapJackered! I've already got the Amazon cheapies so will get cracking with them. What's the deal with charts and the FF app and taking temperatures and stuff?

AngeloMysterioso · 25/11/2018 18:17

My Clue app is saying my predicted fertile days are CD12-15 and ovulation day (singular) CD16, my FF app is saying predicted fertile days are CD15-17 and ovulation days (plural) CD18-24! Clue app predicts next period to start on the 24th Dec, FF app says 30th. How are they so wildly different?! I've been using Clue longer and more regularly, could that be it? Should I go back and try and sync up my FF app to my Clue app?

Head spinning again...

cupcakesandglitter · 25/11/2018 18:45

Sorry to hear that @BabySquid please look after yourself and please come back whenever you're ready! Xxx

Thanks @Crossfitgirl 😊 I'm 3DPO then xx

@AngeloMysterioso this is exactly the same with me, Flo seems to be more clued up than FF but I've used Flo a lot longer so think it's a lot more tailored now and I've realised I don't really use FF as much.. I'd say go with Clue if it makes more sense to you xx

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 25/11/2018 18:47

@AngeloMysterioso also if you want to temp, you'll need a Basal Thermometer (if you type this into amazon you can get them cheap, I got a cheap one) and then you need to test at the same time every morning before you've got up at all and after at least 3 hours of sleep. If you log it into FF straightaway it'll record the time - if it's not your usual time it will discount it/if you haven't had enough sleep you can log that too so it will log it with a different icon on your chart x

SullyWifey · 25/11/2018 18:54

I have terrible boob ache, can hardly touch them. Literally sitting here topless because even my top hurt against them 😂.

I also have killer back ache and standard period cramps.

Tell me that's a very normally PMS symptom and I should not POAS until Thursday.

Crossfitgirl · 25/11/2018 19:00

@sullywifey if that's not normal pms for you, then POAS!!
