@delilah7 Yeah agree with @flapjackered if you're fairly regular you shouldn't need to use loads. If I use mine again (i have one left) i will just start it about a week after it tells me to so I only use a few to confirm the definite day of O.

@FlapJackered so to break it down to an OPK amateur!
I do them once a day with FMU, I think it tells me if I'm 33 day cycle I should start at CD16. And then once it shows a smiley face or flashing is it I then need to pounce on it?! Or does the flashing mean it's coming and I need to keep testing hahaha

@Delilah7 yes so I would start a few days before cd16 as you have had 29 day cycles before haven't you? I would go from your shortest. Start with fmu and you will likely get a O on the first one or two. Then which you get a surge of oestrogen (I think) it will start flashing implying ovulation is on its way. Then once you get a surge in LH too it will go to the illusive static smiley which means you are pretty likely to ovulate in the next 12-36 hours. After the static smiley comes on you will not be able to use the tester again for 48 hours.
Also just a tip - eject the test stick from the holder as soon as you get a result as it helps save the battery and makes it last longer!

Hi ladies! Just thought I'd say hello. I've been ttc for the past couple of months after IUD removal. I'm mum of an almost 4 year old boy. At 13 DPO, I got several faint positives. 3 days past missed period, I'm now having what seems like a light period and got a negative pregnancy test this morning. Feeling absolutely gutted. Thinking it was a chemical pregnancy. Anyone relate? The first pregnancy was completely unplanned and I must say, it is so much easier that way! Trying is excruciating. ☹️

This cramping is doing my head in!! 6 or 7dpo what's going onnnnnn

@Delilah7, I use clearblue smiley sticks as my cycle isn't very regular so the aps don't work too well (if I'd gone just on the ap this month, I'd have been almost a week out!) and I'm not good squinting at lines! I just do once a day, first thing. My dh finds it good to, I think the faces make it extra clear for him :)

@MrsR16 if you haven't even ovulated yet, you can definitely drink.

@Delilah7 my GP yesterday said that starting dtd five days before ovulation is ideal which is right about when you get the flashing smiley, maybe a couple of days extra. When it's low, DH and I don't even bother much. You still gotta dtd throughout the month to keep the sperm from getting old but it doesn't have to be as frequent and diligent.

@delilah7 I used to start DTD from when I started using the clear blue tests every other day until the static smiley then do it three days in a row. FMU always picked it up for me by only testing once a day. Definitely gives a bit of peace of mind x

Soooooo my no symptoms have turned into a lot of pinching in my lower stomach today and cramps. Trying to tell myself this could easily be AF but it’s hard when it’s so different to every other month. AF is due Saturday so haven’t got long to wait now to see. Peeing really fast in the mornings so I can’t be tempted before 😂 xx

@sunshine1987 😂 peeing really quick in the mornings! Love your strategy! Haha I think I'm going to end up joining you testing on Saturday (if of course AF doesn't turn up in the meantime!)

@Delilah7 I would personally start testing on cd10 or cd11 if I were you first time, as it would be really annoying if you missed it by starting too late!

Just done a clear blue ovulation test and it's negative 🤷‍♀️🤔
Going to jump on hubby tonight anyway, he's out at the moment so I'm impatiently waiting lol x
