@Crossfitgirl I've started temping this month and using fertility friend for that. I use Ovia as well but the temping charts are better in FF. Have put my chart here in case it helps - mine dipped and went back up a little, then dipped again before it's increased (opk's aligned with this too). I had a later ovulation than usual this month.
Might be worth putting popping it in to FF as well and see what it thinks?

@Charm23 😄 not hidden yet but once I hit 8dpo and the urge to test starts I will ask DH to hide them! Tricky one about when to test, I think I would test after the weekend as I would be sad if it was a bfn, I think it's better to enjoy the weekend in anticipation.
I am the same, it is on my mind all the time and the amount of hours I have wasted googling symptoms etc!

@Crossfitgirl its so frustrating when the temps go rogue isn't it! I would say it probably was high because you were sick. I would keep Dtd until it rises again just in case. I reckon you will ov soon!
If you dropped the thermometer maybe just test it by taking your temp 3 times in succession and check they are all pretty close to the same temp.
I would recommend fertility friend too. It seems accurate and you can put in symptoms etc.

Crossfitgirl · 22/10/2018 10:56

Thanks @flapjackered @sunshine1987 @eltzbee I will try FF. Think you're right, its probably illness and lack of sleep causing the early rise. Maybe the dip today is the pre ov dip- had that the last 2 months.

I think in my head, today is ov day, symptoms are all there, had a load of EWCM yesterday and had ov pains the last 2 days. Debating whether to just stick with DTD every other day, which would mean missing today, or whether to try today and tomorrow aswell to cover all bases. I do feel pretty poo and tired though and not sure DH will be up for it, and don't wanna wear myself out! 3 days in a row is A LOT for us.

Currently on the sofa with honey and lemon. Xx

Ps get those tests hidden!!

sunshine1987 · 22/10/2018 11:01

@crossfitgirl all the stuff I’ve read says there’s not much more benefit in every day compared to every other day. So maybe give yourself a day off and focus on feeling better and then get back on it. Or just see how you feel later today. If you did it last night you’ll have stuff there if the egg dies release today x

Delilah7 · 22/10/2018 11:01

Hi. Feel I haven't spoken to you guys in a while. Or I have it's been missed as this thread goes so fast haha. How're you all x

Crossfitgirl · 22/10/2018 11:20

True @sunshine1987 thanks, we've DTD waaaay more than we ever usually would this month anyway so I think I will just have a break and not stress about it.

Hey @delilah7 it's so hard to keep up isn't it, if I try to reply to everything since last posting sometimes it's like a mile long essay and I'm on my phone for hours! Specially if I've left it a day or two. Can't cope!

How are you? Where are you at in your cycle now? Xx

Delilah7 · 22/10/2018 11:25

@Crossfitgirl it is hard isn't it 😂😂 I'm ok thank you. CD21 is today. I ovulated either CD17/18 ( it's moved since MC) 😂. Bare in mind that's with EWCM and pains no OPKS. How're you x x

starkid · 22/10/2018 12:46

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is well :)
Would you say it means anything when an OPK has a visible test line one day (but still not as dark as control), but the next day is barely visible? Do you think I might have missed ovulation between the two, or both still just negative? Am paranoid it already happened and only DTD once so far! Am on CD12...
Got a busy week this week annoyingly but trying to fit a couple more times in before the weekend. With my weird cycle lengths haven't got a clue when to expect my fertile week to be, which is making it difficult!

Crossfitgirl · 22/10/2018 12:47

@delilah7 it's good you can just tell from your signs. I have never noticed EWCM til this cycle really, i had loads last night - but i think its because i have a cough and I've squeezed it all out by coughing!

TMI but usually I hate feeling wet at all, so i basically wipe myself excessively after the loo normally, so im always pretty mucus free... I wear panty liners every day too so don't normally notice my mucus and always feel dry.
Started to try look for it more now though! And even stopped wearing liners occasionally to see what the mucus was like! It's meant to be the best indicator of fertility right?

I haven't missed doing OPKs, but I've been too busy to be faffing about with them anyway. Plus we've managed to DTD every other day, so actually probably don't need to know exactly when I ov'd. And it has taken the stress out of thinking, shit we MUST DTD on this certain day.

How long have you got then til AF due? Are you feeling more chilled about it all this month? You definitely seem to be xx

Delilah7 · 22/10/2018 12:51

@Crossfitgirl I never really noticed how it coincided with my ovulation until I really looked into the dates etc! I'm normally quite dry too so I defo know when something's going on hahaha.
Defo best time to do it when EWCM is there!
Well done for doing it every other day that's commitment. I'm not there yet tbh... OPKS just stressed me out if I'm honest... so don't plan on doing them for a while. I'm unsure when AF. Maybe not this Saturday next? Flo is abit all over the place due to my EWCM etc. It's still getting used to longer cycles. However 33days is Saturday 3rd November so hopefully then! I feel abit more relaxed yeah. Trying to de stress about so much stuff. I do really want a baby but I can't get consumed by that or I'll get emotional unwell! Xx

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 22/10/2018 12:58

@starkid it could be either - maybe you caught the end of it, or maybe you're in the middle of it and the OPK will go dark again at another time. I usually get faint lines before and after my positive, but last month I did get a positive at lunchtime, then faint ones that evening and the following morning, then a positive again at lunchtime, then faint again then nothing. So I had positives at the same time on both days but negatives in between. It's hard to say and it's also hard to pin point, as ov could happen immediately or take 48 hours after your positive. Don't worry too much, if you've DTD in the last few days it'll be reet, and you still have time to catch it if not.

The sticks depend on how much you drink etc as well. Im starting to think my doc was right in saying OPKs cause stress and just to DTD every 2-3 days! I feel a bit more relaxed not knowing exactly this time, as I feel like well... if it was yesterday then I covered it, if it's today then yesterday's sex covered it, if it was last week there's nowt i can do about it now, and if it's gonna be tomorrow then well, I'm doing myself a favour not having sex today and will be having it tomorrow anyway! Lol.

Hope that's a bit of help anyway?

KatBeCool · 22/10/2018 13:02

AF has greeted me this morning. Just moved right in like a rude witch, not even a little spotting heads up.

@Crossfitgirl I think even with a panty liner ewcm is visible just maybe not in large volumes. But you'd have to investigate your liner 🤔

starkid · 22/10/2018 13:08

@Crossfitgirl - thank you, that helped a lot. Maybe you're right and have to stop stressing about the OPKs. We'll try and DTD today or tomorrow too, and will keep doing them once a day and just wait and see I guess. It does add extra stress along with the varying cycle lengths, not knowing if I've done enough (especially when lots of DTD doesn't come naturally to me!). Every 3 days should be do-able though :) thank you again!

@KatBeCool - sorry to hear that xx

Crossfitgirl · 22/10/2018 14:47

@delilah7 you're totally right, getting stressed about it is so counterproductive. Can't always be helped, but I'm glad you're trying to stay relaxed. Hope your cycles settle into a steady pattern soon, but as long as you stay in tune with your body that's what's important.
I'm well chuffed with my every other day DTD! now DH is going to be away tomorrow, so my plan to leave it today and go for it tomorrow has been scuppered! Fuck it, will just do it when we can. If not tonight, then it'll have to be weds or Thurs. Will have ov'd by then, but what can you do!

@katbecool was AF hiding just to jump out at you like that? Such a bitch. Good luck for this cycle, at least you got your answer and can start fresh again.
I'll have to keep more of an eye on my liners. I was also wondering if it was just leftover sperm since we've DTD so often recently. Maybe I'll never know!

@starkid yeah it's same for us, lots of DTD is unheard of - I'm so chuffed with the fact that apart from one 4 day gap, we've DTD every other day since cd6. Normally it's literally a handful of times a month (sometimes we go more than a month without!)
Don't know if we'll keep it up, and DH only really got on board this month (cycle 7!) So will see how it goes. Keep us updated how you get on :-)

Delilah7 · 22/10/2018 14:49

@Crossfitgirl honestly girl I've got bigger things to worry about. My poor dad and grandad tbh! baby would be lovely but I will just make myself unwell worrying about that too... and also if I get pregnant soon and it's bad news or something happens to grandad I worry how I'd be then with a little one inside me. :(
It is good innings hun so well done!! X

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 22/10/2018 15:02

@delilah7 aww sending hugs. All you can do is be there for your family. I dont know if this helps... My work colleague had some bad news recently, her mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and then she found out she was pregnant. Even in such a bittersweet situation, she has used the pregnancy as the positive thing for the whole family to focus on and for her mum to have in mind during her treatment, to give her something to look forwards towards and to bring hope to her.
I don't know if that helps but I was trying to say that even with the worst news possible, sometimes a new little life is a really good thing when everything else is tough. Whatever happens, you'll be strong and positive for your baby no matter when it happens and what is going on around you. And we are all here for that all important support :-)

Delilah7 · 22/10/2018 15:04

@Crossfitgirl guess just scares me. My grandad and obviously my dad mean the world to me. When something happens to grandad which could be soon I just worry how I'll take it 😔 a baby would be a lovely bit of positivity. Thank you x x

Dad had his heart monitor on again this weekend. Heart doctor just called got to up his medicine as he's having racing heart beating episodes and doesn't even know it. 😔

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 22/10/2018 20:51

@Delilah7 hugs. At least you know the monitor is doing its job. It's better to know when to up the medication than know nothing and have something bad happen. They'll be able to figure out the right things to help your dad stabilize. I know you're constantly worried, it's hard not to, so try to do things that relax you, even if it's extra five chocolates that you guys eat, or even if it's a dozen (just maybe not every day).

@Crossfitgirl panty liner tmi, haha but leftover sperm will actually absorb and ewcm won't as easily.

I got my TSH test results back today, 1.62! I'm so happy it took only a month to get it under 2. The wonders one tiny orange pill can do.

Delilah7 · 22/10/2018 21:21

@KatBeCool that's true. I eat too much chocolate anyways hahaha xx

OP posts:
FlapJackered · 22/10/2018 21:32

@Delilah7 I am sorry hun. That is tough but as kat said it's better the devil you know. Hopefully they will keep a close eye on him now. X

Delilah7 · 22/10/2018 21:33

@FlapJackered I hope so :( xx

Hope you're all well ladiesssss...

@Mrsc87 congrats on the anni!
@mrsr16 any other symptoms?
@rachael321 that's good news about hubs getting on board,

Just attached a photo of my opks so far, I certainly can't see any positive, anyone shed any light. Ewcm today, quite a lot, also for the first time I noticed a slight cramp today so I thought ovulation cramp maybe ?

Feel like the opk just aren't working for me, I'm gonna carry on dtd every other day as I just can't see any joy in the sticks.

Anyway seems like I'm behind you guys as I'm not due af until 10/11...
Thanks for everyones support x

Crossfitgirl · 22/10/2018 22:07

@welshpugmomma luteal phase tends to average 14 days (I say this very loosely as some people have longer or shorter), so if you're not due AF until 10th November, 14 days prior is 27th October which is this Saturday. So I would say give or take a few days either side, this coming Saturday would be your predicted ovulation day.

Are you doing them as per the instructions? I don't mean that to sound silly but different ones have different advice about time of day, holding it in for so many hours before, avoid FMU etc.

I think you just haven't ov'd yet based on your AF due date xx

@delilah7 I agree, at least you know rather than not knowing. @katbecool interesting about the sperm absorbing and the mucus not! Gonna be watching it closely. It seems to have all gone now so I think ov has happened. Will check temp in the morning.fingers crossed it's gone up and I won't need to DTD again for a while ... 😂

feverbee · 22/10/2018 22:07

@Welshpugmomma I don't ovulate until day 16, then I have an 11 day leutal phase. Keep using them and hopefully you'll get a positive soon 😊
