Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Pinkemi buy one of the med cold bags for your trigger shot, take it with you to the venue and pop it in a fridge there. Amazon do next day delivery.

All my meds were in a cold bag for a full day during travel and they were fine.

People will be less interested in snooping than you think. Just say they're antibiotics and you'll be fine. Also try and remember that being crazy on these drugs is normal. Your hormones are going haywire and there's so much pressure on you for this to work. People telling you to calm down and relax aren't helpful, unfortunately they're probably right.

OrcinusOrca · 18/10/2018 18:12

Ahhh @Pinkemi sounds like a day to write off! Hope it has improved a bit since earlier.

@Owlpatrol sorry to hear bout FP. Ha I know what you mean about the Christmas dreams...hope you have a nice day tomorrow, any plans?

I have booked a reflexology session for Monday, am quite excited. Not sure if I'm riding at the weekend or not (kind of hoping not as got to go see my DM and brothers Sat PM). DH is working Sunday unfortunately so going to see naff all of him. He's been a bit of a saint this week, I've felt really unmotivated to do anything and he's just picked everything up and got on with it, he doesn't hold it against me either which is a double win.

I've decided to try and force myself to read some books this autumn. I was 'that child' who adored books and spent my lunch times reading at school, but it's so rare that I read these days. Got plenty I could choose from and I think some escapism would be good for me. Have any of you ladies read a decent book lately?

Chooklass · 18/10/2018 18:51

I've got my first reflexology next Thurs @OrcinusOrca! I'm worried about my feet being tickly!!

I like murder mystery books or apocalyptic thrillers. Recently read 'The Fireman' by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son!) and really enjoyed it. Also just finished 'The Lost Village' by Neil Spring - good if you want something a bit spooky! Reading the most recent Cormoran Strike book (by JkRowling's alter ego) at the mo. I don't read much in summer but as soon as the nights start drawing in I love cosying in with a good book

Awww thanks everyone you're all so kind

@Pinkemi oh man I feel for you I've had a heated discussion with dp about going for his tests and he is actually entertaining the idea now I'm going to get him to do them this month.

Had a baby fix today my friend came over with her little one and I was actually so pleased to see her and the baby I actually allowed myself to enjoy it not for being jealous but for having time with a baby. And I found as soon as I took that pressure off myself I felt a lot better.....and when she started moaning I coukd give her back 😂

ImpatientMammy · 19/10/2018 01:09

Congratulations @OrcinusOrca

@Owlpatrol sorry to hear you've reached two years I hope your partner gets himself to the drs so you can rule that out.

I forgot there was a new thread and just thought you where all being quiet 🙈 I tried to catch up but there's just so much so I'm really sorry if I've missed anything. I'm on CD17 and not ovulated yet I've got 21 day bloods this month what happens if you don't ovulate? Do they even care? X

JustLikeTheySaid · 19/10/2018 06:39

Negative FRER at 11DPO means I'm out for this cycle I guess. So so frustrating, I had let myself get hopeful because of the total change in symptoms. Grrrrrrrr.

ImpatientMammy · 19/10/2018 07:39

Hope your ok @JustLikeTheySaid when's your AF due? X

JustLikeTheySaid · 19/10/2018 07:57

@ImpatientMummy due Monday. I'm 11DPO today and it was a FRER so I'm definitely out. Not really okay at all. Mostly cross with myself for getting excited when I know there is something wrong.

Pinkemi · 19/10/2018 09:23

Oooh just had my last scan this morning. I have 4 or 5 follicles ready to go and about 3 or 4 that arent quite there. So.. trigger shot tomorrow at the wedding ready for monday. Eeek!

Si1ver · 19/10/2018 09:26

That's so exciting! Good luck with your trigger tomorrow.

ImpatientMammy · 19/10/2018 12:42

@JustLikeTheySaid I think no matter how many cycles it's been it's hard not to have hope. Sending love your way x

ImpatientMammy · 19/10/2018 12:43

Fingers crossed for you @Pinkemi xx

Chooklass · 20/10/2018 12:02

@JustLikeTheySaid Hope you have some nice treats lined up for this weekend. Sorry about the BFN

Chooklass · 20/10/2018 12:08

@ImpatientMammy the '21 day bloods' really need to be done 7 days after ovulation. They are just called that based on the average cycle of 28 days. My cycles were 24 days when I got mine done so doc told me to get my bloods done on day 19 (I ov'd on day 12). Sometimes takes a few cycles to time it right. My first two attempts were late because the correct day was on weekend!

JustLikeTheySaid · 20/10/2018 13:56

Thanks. I've got a weird stabby sensation low down at the front today which is making me question whether I might be... will take the other FRER tomorrow to prove to myself I'm definitely out and then have a sob.

Hope you've managed okay today @Pinkemi

ImpatientMammy · 20/10/2018 15:47

Thanks @Chooklass my opks started to darken and now they're basically white again I did 4 on the day they where getting darker i have a feeling that means either I might not ovulate this cycle or I got a dodgey set of opks. So if they think my cycle was anovulatory they'll just keep doing the same tests? X

Owlpatrol · 20/10/2018 17:38

@JustLikeTheySaid oooh fx xx

Sorry I've been AWOL yammers I've been taking some time out waiting for fp to finish. Done some retail therapy today as well which was much needed. Me and dp are having a date night tonight really looking forward to it Smile not much else to report here

strawberrye · 20/10/2018 18:18

Hello does anyone mind if I join?

I'm 27, have been TTC for 1 year now, and had two early losses in this time - 1 in January, 1 in April and not a sniff of anything else since. Been on the TTC after pregnancy loss thread for 8-9 months now and it is lovely and supportive - but I just seem to be passed by by all the ladies who have their loss and then fall pregnant again within a few months - obviously very pleased for them especially with what they have been through, but feeling like an old cheese on that thread.

Starting to feel like I'm losing all hope and was drawn to the rule "thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month"

ImpatientMammy · 20/10/2018 20:15

Awww @Owlpatrol hope you have a lovely date night
@strawberrye welcome and sorry to hear about your loss. I know what you mean about all the bfp's it's so lovely but it gives me all this hope that's been repeatedly crushed x

OrcinusOrca · 20/10/2018 21:37

Welcome @strawberrye sorry you've had to join us. Have you been to your GP at all, and have you got irregular periods or anything in particular that makes you concerned? Lots of us have had quite different experiences but I definitely find it a good place to have a moan amongst people who really get it.

strawberrye · 20/10/2018 21:50

@ImpatientMammy @OrcinusOrca thanks for your welcome. After my second loss my GP said I would have to have a third loss before being referred, which obviously is crap but I think I'd fall pregnant within a few months. I've had my thyroid tested - normal function but hypothyroid for pregnancy levels and positive autoantibodies - and in the process of have clotting done too. We are planning on going to the GP again soon though because things are really getting me down now and I feel we are just waiting to fail again, either by not succeeding in conceiving or succeeding and then losing the pregnancy again Sad

strawberrye · 20/10/2018 21:53

*I think I thought I'd fall pregnant within a few months not I think I'd fall pregnant!

Also periods fairly regular and have been temping for 8 months, I seem to have a luteal phase of around 12-13 days

OrcinusOrca · 21/10/2018 06:26

@strawberrye I would feel the same as you, it's horrible. I'm 26 and we've been TTC a year; I've been diagnosed with PCOS and was put on metformin a couple of months ago, and had a hycosy in September where everything looked textbook apparently. I then had a chemical at the end of that cycle, and I'm torn over whether I should be honest because I feel like the fertility clinic will take me off their list, but I'm worried it was a fluke or that if I do get pregnant again that I will keep having chemicals, which is a terrifying prospect. TTC is so brutal, especially when so many people seem to manage it in the blink of an eye.

Are you taking any supplements or anything?

Hope you're getting on OK @Pinkemi

Chooklass · 21/10/2018 07:24

@ImpatientMammy - yes, my gp said if the results are bad or inconclusive they always repeat the test. Especially if there are any doubts over ov day. If I were you I'd treat the day after your darker opks as ov day for the purposes of working out when to get bloods and see what happens! Think sometimes the peak is easily missed so you still might have ovulated.
