Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Take another Frer then I think. Just to be on the safe side. Do you have one you can do with FMU tomorrow?

Chooklass · 27/12/2018 22:12

@impatientmammy I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself! Allowing myself a day if wallowing in misery then back to normal tomorrow. Had a decent chat with DH about looking into IVF etc this aft. Think he's finally accepting it's really not going to happen naturally. We have had lots of tests and are in the 'unexplained' category, and were told we needed to have tried 2 years before even being referred (then 1 year waiting list ...), so we're looking at at least another 14/15 months of waiting. Urgh!

Still waiting on consultant writing to gp about prescribing me progesterone, so have hopefully still got that to try soon.

Fingers crossed for you testing again!!

@SoozC - Congrats! So glad you made it to the other side of this hell!! Xx

@Chooklass I hope your feeling a bit better today. CD1 is such a horrible day.
Guys I retested this morning and I'm
Pregnant ☺️ I've spent the past 10 minutes staring at the test. 14 months of breakdowns, stress and thinking I've become infertile and I finally get that BFP x

impatientmammy · 28/12/2018 06:34

Thank you all so much for all your support since I joined the thread. I hope there's another yammer BFP soon xxx

Si1ver · 28/12/2018 08:14

What fabulous news @impatientmammy, congratulations. Head over to the grads thread when you feel ready.

Chooklass · 28/12/2018 08:19

Lovely news @impatientmammy! Did you do anything different this cycle? I can't remember who it was who bought the giant yam!! 😂

@impatientmammy congrats, lovely news - you deserve it! Xx

Pinkroseuk · 28/12/2018 09:07

Congratulations @impatientmammy :) xx

strawberrye · 28/12/2018 10:37

Congratulations @impatientmammy wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy

SparkwoodAnd21 · 28/12/2018 10:49

Congratulations impatientmammy!

And congratulations to you too @sooz. I’ve been wondering how you were doing.

chook it was me that bought the giant yam. Didn’t fucking work though as FP just arrived. So that’s me officially out for good now. I’m not trying any more. It’s time to accept that it isn’t going to happen and move on with my life. Thanks all for being so supportive and keeping me (reasonably) sane throughout this shit show. I really hope that if I stalk this thread in a couple of months that none of you will be here and you’ve all got your BFPs. Sorry for the downer post but I hope anted to tell people who’d understand.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 28/12/2018 10:51

*wanted. Fecking AC. Phone is as much use as my reproductive system.

FairyAnn · 28/12/2018 11:00

Congratulations Sooz and Impatient! Here's to a healthy and event-free pregnancy for you both 😊

We started our IVF injections on Christmas Day and they are thoroughly unpleasant, but hopefully worth it in the end 😁

Chooklass · 28/12/2018 11:27

I'm sorry @SparkwoodAnd21. I hope 2019 is great for you, whatever post-TTC things you fill your life with! Xx

@FairyAnn - exciting! And starting Xmas day - got to be a good omen!

Congratulations @impatientmammy !!

Yammers grad thread?? How would I find it?? Won't join until my 12 week scan in a week or so but I didn't know there was one xx

cupcakesandglitter · 28/12/2018 13:40

Sorry to hear that @SparkwoodAnd21 😩 it's utterly shit but go and enjoy your life again, hope you and DH have a wonderful time looking after yourselves x

impatientmammy · 28/12/2018 16:55

Thank you ladies
@Chooklass to be completely honest I bought clomid off the internet. The nhs won't do anything for unexplained infertility with your 2nd so I risked it. I think I usually ovulate but this worked in the first month x

KourtBo · 28/12/2018 17:18

I'm a lurker so sorry to crash the thread, but I've been reading this thread a long time and definitely long enough to know it's not a place to suggest something that dangerous to other women struggling with infertility who could easily take the same drastic measure and get a very different outcome. You have no idea what you're getting when you buy prescription drugs online. Never take the risk. So many stories online with people who learnt this the hard way. I'm happy it worked for you but women in this position can be at a point where they'll try anything, I've sure as hell felt that way. Please don't put dangerous ideas into people's heads.

Chooklass · 28/12/2018 17:28

Welcome out of the shadows @KourtBo! I agree with what you say. It's so difficult though. I nearly bought progesterone online recently because I was feeling so desperate and felt like no docs were listening.

OP posts:
impatientmammy · 28/12/2018 18:04

@KourtBo I'm sorry I wasn't trying to advertise the idea I just didn't want to lie. I do believe however if someone has unexplained infertility they could get clomid via private health care with the proper checks. I get positive opks and ewcm 90% of my cycles so don't have PCOS but I've been very lucky in that what I was sent actually was clomid and that it's worked. I will tell my midwife how I conceived as well. This thread has been a very supportive place for me and I hope you find the same. X

Owlpatrol · 29/12/2018 13:33

Omg fantastic news @impatientmammy I knew we needed a yammer bfp soon! Any symptoms yet?

I'm about 3dpo today so not much to report had some weird cramps this morning nothing too unusual I'm thinking of ordering some Clomid, I'm the same as you ewcm and positive opks tested for pcos and don't have that either.

impatientmammy · 29/12/2018 14:31

@Owlpatrol no symptoms I even had mild period like cramping lower back ache and a slight skin break out exactly like every other month. I'm not tired or sick my boobs are just like af boobs. I cried to my OH Christmas Day that maybe I needed to accept this baby wasn't to be so basically what I'm saying is I suppose you don't really know when your out. I had an implantation bleed at 9/10DPO but spotting then is normal for me to. I have everything crossed that you'll be joining the grads thread soon. Thank you for all your support x

cupcakesandglitter · 29/12/2018 15:52

Soooo I didn't post it at the time because I didn't (and still don't) know wtf is going on. On Christmas Day I got a BFP with a stupid fucking Lloyds pharmacy early test. Only since purchasing them have I seen that they give false positives to plenty of women. Every FRER I've tried since has been negative. CD33, no AF, but no positive either. Stupid sore nipples which is unlike me but that's about it. Just getting fed up. Me and DH were so fucking happy believing we'd done it.... only for FRER to show that actually, we haven't, and got our hopes up for no reason. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM LLOYDS TESTS!!!

Owlpatrol · 29/12/2018 16:38

Awww that's nice to hear though @impatientmammy gives me hope! So happy for you and hope you enjoy the next 9 months!!

@cupcakesandglitter argh that's so annoying and I totally sympathise. Are you going to wait a few days to test again? Was it the faintest lines on the Lloyds test was it grey/pink?

cupcakesandglitter · 29/12/2018 17:19

@Owlpatrol I've tested every day 😩 just bought two more FRERs today too. The Lloyd's one was faint but very obviously pink 😩 Christmas Day one was suuuuuper faint but then the next morning was definitely darker. I give up honestly 😂

Chooklass · 29/12/2018 20:27

How frustrating @cupcakesandglitter!

So, my stomach is so bloated just now I just can't believe there isn't a baby in there!!! It can't all be chocolate and turkey?!?! Diet starts on the 1st!
