Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@si1ver, thanks for the help! I'm the same, feeling less embarrassed every time!

No, don't think so? Still getting to grips with all the terminology. What's the protocol? Is that when they decide what route to take regarding how to fertilise the egg?

Si1ver · 09/11/2018 09:21

Your protocol is the treatment you're having really. So long (down reg, then stims and trigger can take around 2/3 months) or short (stims and trigger, all over and done in a cycle) and usually includes confirmation of what sort of meds you're going to use.

I had a short protocol, GonalF, cetrotide and an ovitrelle trigger. 15 days of meds in total I think. Then progesterone pessaries for three months afterwards.

Pinkemi · 09/11/2018 09:50

@Si1ver.... wait what?? Pessaries for THREE MONTHS!! urgh no.. Please god no! haha

@FairyAnn Good luck with your IVF lovely! I also had a short protocol! I was taking Bemfola, Cetrotide and an Ovitrelle trigger. I had about 14 days of meds in total I think, so similar to Si1ver!

@OwlPatrol.. it's difficult isn't it! I was talking to DH last night about it.. and he was right to say that as soon as I don't drink.. people are going to be like.. ohh she's pregnant. I just got to put up with it... but some of my friends are the types that will drop really un-subtle hints.. and i think it might drive me round the bend! lol Ill sort something out..

Sorry to everyone who has had BFN or FP arrive! (hugs)

Also welcome to all the new peeps! Welcome to the Yam Fam!

So whats happening here... I know you ladies told me to take it off.. but i didnt! My Ava bracelet has been showing my resting pulse and temp as rising.. so I am feeling pretty reassured and chilled out today. Might not bother with testing tomorrow and just accept that everything is okay.. and go from there. Grin I think I am finally beginning to accept that I actually am pregnant! haha

Owlpatrol · 09/11/2018 09:52

@Pinkemi awwww that's so exciting! I'm really hoping to join all the yammer graduates soon I think there's only a few of the original yammers left!

Si1ver · 09/11/2018 11:02

@Pinkemi yes! Right the way through to 12 weeks. I hated then with a burny firey passion. But then I got all anxious when I had to stop. They're hideous aren't they.

FairyAnn · 09/11/2018 11:53

Ahhh thank you! Hope we get the short one! Should find out after the scan 😊

Chooklass · 09/11/2018 12:04

My FP is lasting longer and much heavier than usual. Wondering if it's another chemical but will never know as I didn't test! Started new vits and been doing lots of pilates too, so maybe they have increased blood flow or something. Just when I was starting to feel I knew my cycle pretty well!

Welcome to all the newcomers and sorry your here also.
I've missed a few days tried to catch up just now but I'm half a sleep a I decided I needed a night out last night.
I'm glad your feeling more relaxed today @Pinkemi.
Fingers crossed for those feeling positive in the two week wait. I'm having a super broody day today x

Owlpatrol · 09/11/2018 19:38

Oh man I was having a really good day then dp came home and he's had a bad day and now I feel instantly in a bad mood. I've been banished to the kitchen whilst he feels sorry for himself. I've got period cramps and I instantly feel pmsy argh Angry anyway....pouring myself a commissary gin tonight

Chooklass · 09/11/2018 20:31

I'm with ya @Owlpatrol! Don't know why I'm in such a crappy mood today! DP went out, which is probably just as well! Treated myself to an evening off the diet so am now stuffed full of cheesy pasta and enjoying a fancy cardamom gin . Going to wallow in the bath with a book and consider re-joining the world tomorrow!

Sounds like a good plan @chooklass

I had my first glass of wine in agggesss last night. Woke up with bad af cramps this morning :( feel like doing some online shopping to treat myself.

Chooklass · 10/11/2018 07:20

@MrsDash Do it! Do it!

In all seriousness, it really hit me yesterday how fragile our mental health can get during TTC. It's sooo important we all look after ourselves! Xx

OP posts:
MrsDash · 10/11/2018 07:24

@chooklass so very true.

I’m very lucky not to have had any experience with mental health problems myself but recently it’s dawned on me that this is the closest I’ve come to it. When realising af is about to start I just feel so sad and numb. Like I don’t even care that it’s friday and the weekend. All I think about is how sad I’m feeling and how easily I can cry. It’s so hard to snap out of it.

MrsDash · 10/11/2018 07:58

Ahh I’m so annoyed. Just found out that DH isn’t allowed to have sex between 2-7 days before his fertility appointment and it’s around the time I think I’ll ovulate next. Today is not a good day :(

FairyAnn · 10/11/2018 08:27

I'm hearing you ladies about self care. I've reduced all my social activities in the run up to Xmas and the OH and I have decided Xmas Day is going to be a pyjama day with just us and the dog 😊 Less stress, the better!

Plus it's our dog's first Xmas with us and we want to keep it nice and relaxed (she's a rescued ex street dog)

Owlpatrol · 10/11/2018 15:31

I'm hearing you all and @Chooklass hope you enjoyed that gin! I did a bit of retail therapy today just started a few bits for Xmas, I really want to be pregnant before Christmas! Having some cramps today so feeling I'm out just keep watching this space I suppose

Chooklass · 10/11/2018 16:41

@Owlpatrol - it was sooo good! I might have another tonight (whilst watching Strictly in my pjs)! Retail therapy sounds good. I did a bit of charity shop browsing today and found a nice cosy jumper!

OP posts:
MrsDash · 10/11/2018 17:10

@owlpatrol @chooklass great minds think alike. I browsed some charity (and non charity) shops today getting a few Xmas bits and am looking forward to a cosy evening watching strictly. Hope everyone had a nice sat eve.

Owlpatrol · 10/11/2018 17:18

Oooh yes me too thinking strictly

Saw 5 pregnant women today!

MrsDash · 10/11/2018 17:38

Pregnant women and babies are everywhere when youre TTC aren’t they? There were two couples with gorgeous babies at the table next to us at lunch. Had to make sure I didn’t stare at them in envy.

Owlpatrol · 10/11/2018 19:08

I knowwwww everywhere

Right ladies strictly is on but must admit my mind is elsewhere. So I happened to notice that my cm was "a bit" more abundant today. So I thought ah it's because I've been walking round or is it? So I went back and usually by now I've tried up...cycle day 25....but its think and creamy
...hummmm I'm wondering whether to test again tomorrow or not Hmm

Chooklass · 11/11/2018 13:24

Have you tested again @Owlpatrol ?

OP posts:
Owlpatrol · 11/11/2018 13:47

Yeah bfn... on an internet cheapie. I thought there might have been a slight shadow but definately optimisitic thinking. 5 days early though so still holding onto some hope. I had a good cry with dp and tried to brush myself off a bit

Symptoms wise I've got some cramping, sadness, sore boobs and achy vag so basically all normal and probably fp on it's way

Chooklass · 11/11/2018 15:04

Aw I'm sorry @Owlpatrol. It never gets easier seeing a BFN. Hope you've been doing something nice today!

OP posts:
maddiie · 11/11/2018 18:59

@Owlpatrol I got a BFN today as well after insisting I wouldn't test this time... never gets any easier
