Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

I think so yes. Something to do with uterine contractions.

Pinkemi · 02/11/2018 13:02

Urgh.. this tww really is no fun! 😂

Si1ver · 02/11/2018 13:26

I think I got to 7dp5dt before I cracked and tested. It's hideous isn't it.

Pinkemi · 02/11/2018 17:02

7dp5dt would be tomorrow for me..

Not going to lie... part of me wants to test on sunday as its my DH birthday.. but im kinda scared to. I know that sounds stupid.. because i have to face the result eventually on wednesday. Confused But what an awesome birthday present that would be! ( or a disaster if its negative.) 😂

ImpatientMammy · 02/11/2018 18:58

Guys how long are anovulatory cycles normally? Cd31 just sat here waiting for af 🤷🏻‍♀️ (normally a 26 day cycle) x

Owlpatrol · 02/11/2018 19:02

@Pinkemi how exciting! Can't wait to find out

@ImpatientMammy was it definately avoluntary? I'm thinking I might have had one as well as never got a proper positive opk. Probably should have kept testing. Last time I had an anvoluntary cycle it was 34 days and normally I'm 30 xx

ImpatientMammy · 03/11/2018 10:17

@Owlpatrol I'm not sure I didn't notice any definite ewcm I opk'd for about 10 days after I should have ovulated and my blood tests suggested I didn't ovulate but I don't know really I could have missed it.
How's this cycle going for you? X

OrcinusOrca · 03/11/2018 15:42

@ImpatientMammy do you normally get EWCM? I rarely notice it but I do seem to ovulate, I wonder if I am just not. Dry eagle eyed. I think anovulatory cycles can vary a lot, I had a 48 day cycle in Feb which I suspect was anovulatory. I also had another cycle where I didn't quite get a positive OPK but from temping it looked as though I had ovulated. Wish we could progesterone test at home!

Have you decided whether to test @Pinkemi ?

I'm 7DPO today and waiting for the spotting to start. It has started at 5DPO before so I'm pleased it's not as crazy early as it has been.

Pinkemi · 03/11/2018 15:53

So my husband convinced me not to test. If it was a negative tomorrow it would just ruin his birthday. 😂

OrcinusOrca · 03/11/2018 16:16

Don't blame you! Are you doing anything for his birthday or having a quiet one?

Chooklass · 03/11/2018 16:47

10dpo here. Into the last mad few days before FP!! Spotting started as usual 2 days ago. Boobs really sore today but nothing out of the ordinary! Kinda just want to get on with next cycle so I can try the progesterone supplements.

Staying the night in a hotel and seeing a theatre show tonight. :-)

Then family day tomorrow.

ImpatientMammy · 03/11/2018 19:06

@Pinkemi that sounds lovely I hope you both l enjoy it.
@OrcinusOrca I do usually get ewcm but I was poorly for a while around ovulation so I could have easily missed it.
Fingers crossed for those of you in the two week wait x

Owlpatrol · 03/11/2018 19:34

@ImpatientMammy not much to report pretty normal so far for me! I'm probably 4dpo and just noticed feeling tired but that's normal for me. When's your af due?

@Pinkemi oooh sounds lovely and probably wise words from the hubby

@Chooklass should we be worried about early spotting? I usually spot around cycle day 26 and not sure whether to be worried or not?!

@OrcinusOrca omg so wish I could test progesterone at home!

We are both trying to decide whether to have a date night tonight or not....he's been working today so a bit tired. I'd like to go for some drinks butttttt also like the idea of a cosy night in.

Chooklass · 04/11/2018 07:09

@Owlpatrol The fertility doc I saw last week said spotting a few days before period would not stop me being pregnant, but heavier spotting from OV right through luteal phase would be a problem as the uterus lining wouldn't be thick enough to support a pregnancy.

But she did offer to let me try progesterone supplement next cycle when I asked if it was due to low progesterone (which everything on Google suggests!).

It's easy to blame the spotting, but it does seem to be really common and on the spotting thread I started ages ago quite a few women said their spotting stayed the same the cycles they got their BFPs!

Owlpatrol · 04/11/2018 07:42

@Chooklass that's quite reassuring I don't usually spot till later on in my cycle and trying natural progesterone this month anyway. Not noticed anything out of the norm but did wake up this morning with cramping sore boobs and stomach ache but I'm only 5dpo. Ovia still says I'm in fertile week but that's because I didn't get an official positive opk Sad this is going to be a long 2ww!

Chooklass · 04/11/2018 09:32

It doesn't get any easier does it @Owlpatrol?! I'm about 11dpo and there are FRERs burning a hole in my bedside drawer! And I keep poking my boobs - no wonder they're sore 😂

OP posts:
Owlpatrol · 04/11/2018 10:26

@Chooklass I decided to go back and put in positive opk when I thought I ovulated which does make me 5dpo and out the fertile week now 😂 we did 3 times at the right time so fx fx fx

OrcinusOrca · 04/11/2018 15:08

I'm so curious to know how you get on with progesterone @Chooklass my consultant didn't bat an eyelid when I said I spot for near enough the whole week before AF with it gradually getting heavier. Which suggests it's not a big problem? I've seen others on MN day the same too.

Google has told me PCOS suffers suffer with spotting but I've not managed to figure out why that is. I guess if we don't ovulate we wouldn't produce much progesterone but BBT usually tells me I do ovulate and I still spot. I didn't used to when I was a youngster but I also spent time on and off the pill which probably impacted my cycles even in between.

Weirdly I am 8DPO today according to BBT and so far have no spotting. I'm sure it will turn up now, but I'd be very pleased if it did vanish. End up feeling like I'm on my period all the time otherwise. Hoping it doesn't just mean my ovulation is wonkier than FF thinks...

Chooklass · 04/11/2018 16:34

My spotting got loads better after my hysteroscopy - no idea why! I spot for fewer days and much lighter. Told my consultant this and she couldn't think why! It certainly flushed me out quite thoroughly (was pretty grim) so maybe unblocked something? I reckon spotting is hormonal though.

So i seem to be overally emotional right now.. just fired off the handle at everyone because i felt like they were taking the piss out of me. (Sigh)

Chooklass · 04/11/2018 17:09

@Pinkemi You have very good reason to be overly emotional!! Must be so difficult hiding what you're going through just now

ImpatientMammy · 04/11/2018 18:00

@Owlpatrol af was due on Tuesday POAS this morning to get rid of the niggling glimmer of hope and it was negative so just waiting again. Also I bought a load of magic bits to help next cycle then came to the other end of the country for three weeks without so much as folic acid 🙄
@Pinkemi it's def understandable that your emotional. When are you testing? X

Pinkemi · 04/11/2018 18:05

My offical test date is wednesday.. im at work tomorrow and tuesday but work from home on a wed.. so ill be waiting till wednesday to test. That way if its a negative i can sob quietly at home!

@impatientmummy sorry for your BFN. Sad

Owlpatrol · 04/11/2018 18:08

@ImpatientMammy oh no well enjoy your travels! Can you pop into a boots or something?

Thus waiting game is soooooo long! I'm also a bit annoyed with dp today, he means well but he's just not helping!
