My AF arrived yesterday so I'm off the September bus already Sad

Cycle #2
Trying for baby #2
Age 33

This month I am going to track my cycle using ovulation strips. DTD lots last month so I'm gutted but onwards and upwards!

@everycloud ah if the doc prescribed it I wouldn't be worrying! There is no risk at all with the standard 400ug dose, that was only for the 500ug dose that i know it needs to be medically prescribed for people with epilepsy and diabetes! As i said though , your doc would know more though! Xx

Ah sending hugs @wishful! You are still in until af shows! Are you still spotting? X

Wishful30 · 12/10/2018 15:44

@Chocolate89
Yep, still a bit of light brown spotting. Nothing much but typical of af unfortunately.

Wishful30 · 12/10/2018 15:54

Could I ask how old people are, and how long you have been ttc for (if you don't mind)

I'm trying to decide whether to bother with the medicated IUI as I feel I'm being pushed into it even tho my tests are all pretty much normal.
I feel the unexplained infertility has not been investigated enough to throw a load of hormones at the situation.
Having had chemicals, I know up to conception is ok, but something goes wrong from then on...

Any thoughts greatly appreciated xx

KinCat · 12/10/2018 16:14

Wishful30 sorry about the BFN, that sucks.

I'm late 20s and only just started TTC so I'm pretty chilled out about it for now.

I agree with you that I'd question what benefit your dr thinks the IUI offers you if you know you can get pregnant. Does it do anything other than help with sperm transport and timing? No point wasting time or money if there's some other issue that needs addressing (immune, sperm/egg quality etc.).

SophiePie · 12/10/2018 16:19

AF got me just now while I was out, so I gotta jump on the next bus. I cried in the street like an idiot Blush Sad

PaintingOwls · 12/10/2018 16:20

Oh no SophiePie sorry to hear that Flowers

Wishful30 · 12/10/2018 16:32

Ah @SophiePie sorry to hear that!

@KinCat we've already spent a fortune. Which I'm feeling was a waste of time and a bit money grabbing. Since I've not really had any investigations to prove or disprove things.
So we've already paid for the final IUI as part of a package. All the meds will be extra, and I can't have meds without scans.., also extra..,
The timings are all off too in my opinion. Trigger 12hours before IUI
Ovulate any time up to 24hrs after that
Washed sperm only last 5hrs
So in theory you should be scanned or blood tested to check that ovulation had occurred, or the sperm could be dead by the time you ovulate. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I wish I hadn't panicked and rushed into it!

sbhf1987 · 12/10/2018 16:40

@Wishful30 sorry about the bfn ❤️ Hugs. I’m 31 this will he cycle 5, first 2 cycles we didn’t use OPKs and didn’t DTD much if at all in what I realise now was my fertile week. BFP cycle 4 but mc at just before 6 weeks. TTC no 1. X

ronniemipperton · 12/10/2018 17:06

I’m 33 and I’ve been trying for about three years - one year of ovulating regularly, though that seems to have gone out of the window this month 🙄

I did get a BFP in May though (ended in MMC) so not trying anything beyond the natural route at this stage.

Chocolate89 · 12/10/2018 17:16

I'm 29 and trying since March for #2, had a misc in July @7weeks.

@wishful thats so so frustrating for you. Could you push out the IUI? (Sorry if thats a stupid question )

TwittleBee · 12/10/2018 17:37

Wishful30 I'm 24, been trying for 12 months. Had no issues with DS (he was conceived 1st time). Had a copy of CPs in the summer.

Newbie21 · 12/10/2018 17:51

Sorry @SophiePie. It totally sucks. I have had the cries in public too so you're not alone there. Have a big glass of wine or bar of chocolate (or both) and be good to yourself. It will happen.

@Wishful30 I'll be 38 end of Dec. I conceived my DS when I was 34 and 2/3s. Had no trouble whatsoever with DS - 2nd cycle but have had one MMC and one CP so far TTC #2

summer28 · 12/10/2018 17:52

Hi wishful30, I'm 31, TTC baby 1, and this is my third cycle x

Wishful30 · 12/10/2018 18:09

Thankyou ladies for responding. 😊
Just keeping me positive as 35 and ttc #1
well over a year now. X

Newbie21 · 12/10/2018 18:10

@summer28 how are you feeling? Any more symptom spotting? I feel a heavy feeling in my uterus. Hoping it's a good sign. I have no idea though.

Anyone else testing this weekend?

Wishful30 · 12/10/2018 18:14

@Chocolate89 I guess as it's already paid for I can do what I like. 😆
So I think I'm going to postpone it for a while. Need to dig deeper, or stop stressing about it.
Seeing an acupuncturists for now. See if that helps.
I've requested a copy of all my test results and scan results for egg count, size and uterine thickness!
Going to request a referral via my gp to see a fertility specialist and see what they make of it all.

stormtrooperjulian · 12/10/2018 18:58

@Wishful30 I’m 31, ttc #1 and on cycle 3

I’m CD10, not expecting to ov for a few days yet but I’m now on day 4 of having lots of ewcm. Usually it’s (tmi) creamy at this point. No idea what’s going on!

coastergirl · 12/10/2018 20:19

Does anyone know much about cycles getting back to normal after a miscarriage? I had one in early August at 6.5 weeks but the pregnancy was only measuring 4 weeks. My first period was 5 weeks after the miscarriage, which I know is pretty normal. Prior to all this my cycle was 28 days. Currently on day 31 and no period. Tests are negative but looking back, I've never had early positives (have had 3 pregnancies, 1 child). Sorry I don't really post. Have joined this thread a while ago and I do read but rarely post.

everycloudetc · 12/10/2018 20:40

coastergirl I've had two losses and with each one I found that I didn't ovulate the cycle directly afterwards it would always be skip a cycle then get pregnant again and then it was 3rd time lucky.

MakeAWhish · 12/10/2018 21:06

@Wishful30 I'm 39, TTC number 3. Second cycle, currently 6dpo

Chocolate89 · 12/10/2018 21:14

Coastergirl sorry to hear about your miscarraige 💐 I had a misc in July then a 28 day cycle but didn't ovulate. Ov the last 2 cycles but last one 35 days and this one looking to be 31 days. So think it just takes a while for the body to go back to normal! 😘

summer28 · 12/10/2018 21:17

@Newbie21 I feel exactly that too, at times it's a similar sensation to when you have a headache and the blood rushes to your head, but in the whole of my abdomen!!! My boobs have been really sore today too. First time they've felt like that. I'm Feeling excited but nervous too. I got a digital test from boots on my way home........ fingers crossed for us in the morning @Newbie21 🤞😘

sbhf1987 · 12/10/2018 22:13

@coastergirl I mc about 3 and a half weeks ago, my ov tests say if I did ov this month on CD17 (I had an LH surge) I’ll have a 31 day cycle this month counting the mc as a period. I usually have 27/28 day cycles too x

AIDE2424 · 12/10/2018 22:33

I’m not holding out much hope this month! But
I’ve been majorly symptom spotting 😩noticed the little bumps ( sorry for TMI) around my nipples are more raised and I’ve been slight nauseous and dizzy ness and cramping BUT I have began taking 7 seas trying to conceive tablets so think this is a side affect of those, only time will tell! Good luck to everyone else going to test on Wednesday if no AF. Going out tomorrow to York for the day so this should take my mind off symptom spotting and have a busy week at work next week so again that should keep me occupied 🤞🏻X

Newbie21 · 12/10/2018 23:40

@summer28 fingers crossed for us. My boobs feel a bit swollen but not sore but then they were never sore with DS. I'm excited and terrified and anxious - terrified that I'm not and anxious if I am that I could lose it again. I even found myself talking to baby earlier in the loo telling it to hang on in there cos it's big brother will be so over the moon to have a little sibling to play with and adore. I'm also very emotional today, in case you can't tell Blush
