Too early for an October bus?

loveshinealight · 03/09/2018 19:15

My AF arrived yesterday so I'm off the September bus already Sad

Cycle #2
Trying for baby #2
Age 33

This month I am going to track my cycle using ovulation strips. DTD lots last month so I'm gutted but onwards and upwards!

ronniemipperton you might be surprised - I feel like I've spoken to my DH loads about TTC but I think he doesn't take a lot of it in!

DH is on his way home now and my temp is still low (Friday morning) so I'm hoping I haven't ovulated yet. Had two positive OPKs on Wednesday and Thursday though so I'm not holding my breath that we'll catch it in time. Weirdly I haven't had any EWCM this cycle, normally I have loads.

I'm symptom spotting already and I've not even ovulated yet! I'm sure it's gas or something but I've got this really weird fluttering going on in my stomach. Very strange feeling and I'd be going nuts if I was in the two week wait. You really do notice your body much more with this TTC business.

veeboo · 05/10/2018 07:45

Back from holiday now ladies. Have been keeping an eye on the thread. Sorry to those who have mentioned losses. Also sorry for those who have had AF arrive but I see some of you get another go at the October bus!

I'm now cd32 and about 6dpo after ovulating late this month on cd27. I've had some cramping which feels like AF and I'd be really confused if she came early. Joining the tww madness already!

ronniemipperton · 05/10/2018 07:49

KinCat ha that’s true!

DH seems to have got over the wobble so we dtd last night, though I’ve finally had a temp dip this am so hopefully I’ll ovulate today or tomorrow... so ideally we’d do it again tonight but I may be pushing my luck Grin

I’m wondering if I should switch to FF for temps, I’m using Ovia but am pretty sure it has my fertile window in completely the wrong place. Maybe it’ll catch up if I have a temp rise though. (I really should be a pro at this after all this time but still feel pretty clueless...)

I’m jumping on this bus again. Currently on cycle day 11. Hoping to ovulate soon! Does anyone find it hard to keep up with trying every other day? I’m usually knackered by the end of the day!

KinCat · 05/10/2018 07:55

ronniemipperton men are very fickle sometimes! I adore my DH but the number of times he's said (after dtd in my fertile window) "hmm not sure we're ready for a baby yet"!! Too late mate...hopefully...doesn't put him off the next time an opportunity presents itself either 😂

Nothing to lose (except time) putting your data into fertility friend and seeing what it comes up with. I've heard a few people say they don't like the look/user interface of fertility friend but I've found it really great now I've got used to it.

Fingers crossed we both get a temp rise over the weekend!

Smileyface32 · 05/10/2018 07:56

@ronniemipperton you should go ahead and try another app. I was using natural cycles then decided to add my details for Fertility friend. Over time I preferred Fertility friend as you can input more data 😊

ronniemipperton · 05/10/2018 08:00

Thanks KinCat and Smileyface32, I’ll give FF a go!

KinCat · 05/10/2018 08:07

Smileyface32 this is only cycle three for me so there's still the excitement of maybe making a baby which helps me get going even if I don't feel like it. It helps that I know we can be finished very quickly if necessary.

sbhf1987 · 05/10/2018 08:29

@Smileyface32 we tend to try every night (this is now C5!) but before we’ve started on first day of flashing smiley even though I don’t usually get EWCM until 2nd day of flashing so we skipped DTD yesterday. Day 2 of flashing smiley today so will DTD all weekend, hoping for a fixed smiley Sunday! X

sbhf1987 · 05/10/2018 08:30

@Smileyface32 I forgot to add but yes it does get stressful and I find myself turning it down at other points knowing we’re going to have to try doing it loads around my fertile window 😭 x

loveshinealight · 05/10/2018 10:56

I'm now on CD 34! No sign of my period!

Do you know if/when you ovulated loveshinealight?

loveshinealight · 05/10/2018 11:57

@KinCat - I got a positive OPK on the 21st which was CD20.

OP posts:
TwittleBee · 05/10/2018 12:00

loveshinealight hmmm so looks like you just ovulated late this cycle maybe? Luteal Phase for most people is around 14 days and most people ovulate day after a positive OPK so you could have a 35 day cycle this time round

loveshinealight · 05/10/2018 12:03

Do you think there is any chance I'm pregnant or am I just kidding myself?

OP posts:
TwittleBee · 05/10/2018 12:08

You could be and it is still too early to test but also AF could just be showing up later as you ovulated later. For some people they dont actually ovulate till 3 days post positive OPK, so you might only be like 11dpo today. Also you have to consider that implantation occurs around 9dpo but it can take ages for your body to have enough hormone for it to be picked up in even a FRER

KinCat · 05/10/2018 12:12

Until AF comes you definitely could be!

OPKs aren't necessarily that predictive and you could ovulate a while after you get a positive one (I had a positive OPK on wednesday but don't think I've ovulated yet because there's no temp shift and no EWCM). At least I hope I haven't ovulated yet as DH is still 6 hours away! Maybe I'm kidding myself.

Anyway I think it's impossible to pinpoint exactly when you ovulated (especially if you're just using OPKs) so it may be a few days later than you think. What kind of tests are you doing? Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

loveshinealight · 05/10/2018 12:20

I won't lose hope then! Just looked back at my app from when I conceived my daughter in 2016. I didn't get a positive till CD39. I also remember at my 12 week scan they discovered I was only 10 weeks and I had to go back.

OP posts:
TwittleBee · 05/10/2018 13:06

Definitely don't with that being the case for you last time loveshinealight

KinCat that actually really is promising though! FX that this means you will be in for a chance

I'm still waiting AF... I had very light spotting yesterday but AF never turned up. Trying so hard not to get hopes up

toomanyflatwhites · 05/10/2018 13:12

One of the hardest things about TTC is not knowing whether you can/should make plans, not knowing what's round the corner. I applied for an internal secondment at work and just got invited to interview - I don't really want to move jobs but it's a promotion, and was thinking that would be v handy for mat leave (plus wouldn't have to do it for so long if I'm pregnant!). But with whacky cycle this month and did I/didn't I ovulate I'm not holding our much hope, and even so I don't even know when to expect AF! Will almost definitely come before the interview though which is next Friday...
Thing is, if I know I'm NOT pregnant by the tine I have the interview I'll be less motivated to get her job. But if somehow I ov'd earlier (as I think) and find out I am pregnant then maybe I'll feel like I'm lying to them and screw up the interview! Gahh!!

GiGi18 · 05/10/2018 13:45

Took a test today at 10dpo - BFN. Really wish I’d stuck to my original plan of just waiting for AF but couldn’t resist. Know I’m not officially out till it shows but I have a feeling it’s not my month. Good luck to all!

PaintingOwls · 05/10/2018 13:58

toomanyflatwhites

I completely understand that, I took a job I don't want or like because it was a promotion for exactly the same reason. Try not to be disheartened if you're not pregnant this month, you could be next month! Then you still benefit from the promotion and will benefit from the maternity pay, just slightly later.

I've been doing this job for 4 months and we're only just TTC so I really do understand how you feel.

TwittleBee · 05/10/2018 14:03

toomanyflatwhites totally get what your saying (because I started a new job whilst knowing I am actively TTC) but you can't put your life on hold and people know that. I wouldn't worry! Like PaintingOwls said, if you aren't pregnant then it be a good progression anyway for you and if you are pregnant then it's just one of those things!
