@ProseccoBee here if you need me Hun. Cancers in my family do know how sole destroying it is. Love to you all xxx

starkid · 01/09/2018 13:10

Just finally got a positive OPK test after testing twice a day since cycle day 7... positive on cycle day 18! Think this means my cycles are longer now as AF came on day 35 last month (came off the pill a few months ago after 9 years, so still working out what's normal...)>
I'm just glad the tests do seem to work. Had to wait a few mins though for them to go the same colour.

Crossfitgirl · 01/09/2018 13:19

@starkid yay! I was ecstatic when I got my first positive OPK last month, I start on day 8 and didn't get it til cd17 so know how you feel waiting so long for it - i thought maybe I won't even ovulate! My cycles are only 26 days, I don't fit with the whole 14 days after ov pattern - maybe you won't either?

@proseccobee yeah l think once marriage is out of the way it's all everyone expects, we are moving house- omg are you pregnant?? I organise a family meal - omg are you pregnant? I even went to speak to my manager at work about something and she thought I was coming to tell her i was pregnant! People seem to have stopped asking now, though I have told some of my friends we are trying so nobody has asked for a while haha.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Cancer is a bitch, my mum has breast cancer 4 years ago but luckily there are many forms that are treatable. I hope it's good news x

@Patapouf oh we can count down together! I'm trying the tactic of try and forget when af is due this time (obviously not working!) and be surprised if she doesn't come lol! Trying not to read anything in to anything my body is doing and trying not to google every twinge! Lol

gjchapman · 01/09/2018 13:54

Hi @Amber28 I'm Interested to see how you get on. We've been trying nearly 9 months and come December I want to go to the doctors and get tested. Have you had the dye test? I read about that online

Lov3Rosie · 01/09/2018 14:51

@starkid I was all giddy when I first had my positive OPK - (so I wonder how I will ever be like once I get my first BFP) Hmm I even left a post-it note at thr bathroom so DH could read it "Let's do some action tonight!" 😂🤣

@Crossfitgirl @ProseccoBee Same here 🙋‍♀️ Sometimes, I just want to avoid get togethers to get away with those questions. We also told them we are now planning so keeps them from questioning. I bet, the next question will be once we have our first babies will be: so when you will try for the next one? Never ending questions.

BabySquid · 01/09/2018 16:09

@Crossfitgirl we get asked all the time!! We got married last Oct and it's all we get!
Went to the hairdressers this morning, who's due in 4 weeks, and she said 'I know you'll be getting this all the time, but are you thinking of kids yet?' So I lied (like I always do) and said next year! Her response was amazing... "oh good, don't do it yet, being pregnant sucks!! It's so boring!!!!"😂
@Lov3Rosie @ProseccoBee I have my Pinterest boards going on, one for the baby room, one for announcement ideas one for baby shower. I'm so sad!!

FivexFive · 01/09/2018 17:35

Amen to all the ones who are sick being asked by Everyone about when you're getting pregnant! Why are they so obsessed?!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. My cycle started on 20th an I think they're about 28/30 days so started using the clear blue sticks in the week. Not face yet, but we dtd this morning just for fun! Trying to keep it light, to prevent feeling pressured...
Hope everyone has a good Saturday evening! Xx

stormtrooperjulian · 01/09/2018 17:38

@Lov3Rosie I think my DH was even more excited than I was when I got my first +ve OPK! I’d left it on the side to develop while I got ready to go out and he came running to find me shouting ‘two lines! two lines!’ 😂

TBay · 01/09/2018 18:36

ProseccoBee Crossfirgirl Lov3Rosie We got married in June and at our wedding people were saying how lovely it would be if we conceived on our honeymoon! I wouldn’t mind if we actually told people we were trying! It seems to be all people want to know about, but it just adds pressure! I’ve also had the summer off, i’m hoping work will distract me from wanting to POAS this week! xx

TBay · 01/09/2018 18:37

Crossfitgirl sorry, my phone seems to autocorrect incorrectly 🤦‍♀️ xx

MrsR16 · 01/09/2018 19:35

Definitely made a mistake testing this morning! I've been awfully moody today! Teary and angry, then fine literally 30 seconds later! I hate hormones 😕

Amber28 · 01/09/2018 20:04

Hi @Gjchapman

I told a tiny white lie as I knew something wasn't right it was just a gut feeling that I had so I told the dr we had been trying longer than we actually had. Turns out my gut was right and something wasn't right.

I've got the dye test and an ultrasound this week!! I would say just go to the doctors as they take a long time sorting out appointments etc!! Xx

daisiesandpeonies · 01/09/2018 20:10

Sorry I've been away from the thread for ages - I'm coming back from holiday tomorrow! Hope everyone is OK? @Crossfitgirl how're you doing remember you weren't feeling amazing for a bit joe everything is going well with the DH now and @Delilah7 still thinking about you lovey and hope you're OK.
I'm CD39 no sign of AF, super grumpy 😭 no news since BFN on Wednesday morning

daisiesandpeonies · 01/09/2018 20:11

*HOPE not joe

Delilah7 · 01/09/2018 20:16

@daisiesandpeonies hi darling thanks for checking in, I'm ok. I'm super stressed. My skins hit an awful high lol. My brother and sister are being so fucked up about my dad's heart situation saying they aren't worried. Other than me out of the children no one has asked my mum how she is either, he's off with her and my sisters just a cow. I'm so stressed as they're so important to me yet they just don't seem to be to my siblings. Close to losing my shit. Had lots of pains and clots today which is stressing me out.

Hope you're ok darling sorry for the rant haha x

FlapJackered · 01/09/2018 22:20

@Delilah7 so sorry you're having a tough time of it, that sucks that your siblings can't be more supportive of you and for your Dad and Mum. Hopefully they will come around to realising they need to step up. I hope you're ok.

@stormtrooperjulian that is so nice your DH is so excited by the positive opk! It took a long time before my DH would even participate in a conversation about opks! 😂 he is much better now though!

@gjchapman I am getting all the tests done at the moment. Getting the progesterone test this cycle and then an ultrasound in October. I just want to know what is going on. I have irregular cycles so I am pretty sure something is not quite right.
Have you had any tests done yet?

@Amber28 - I told the white lie too! Glad I did though as otherwise they wouldn't have found or treated my thyroid condition.
Did the tests come back ok for you?

@Crossfitgirl @ProseccoBee - I hated everyone asking that for ages when we weren't trying as DH was a bit funny about talking about starting a family but now we are ttc and it's been well over a year since we got married it has gone very quiet. I am not sure what I prefer! 😂

I am failing on my super fertility diet this cycle. Trying to reign in my cycles so they are a normal length. Tomorrow is a new day so back to it. Need to find my will power but it's hiding somewhere behind the chocolate 🍫😂

FlapJackered · 01/09/2018 22:23

Arg @daisiesandpeonies cd39 that does not sound fun, I feel your pain! At least there is still some hope for a bfp though! I will keep 🤞🏻 for you! When do you think you'll test again?

Amber28 · 01/09/2018 22:34

@gjchapman I have had the progesterone tests done, all have come back fine luckily. So once I have had the dye test and ultrasound test done should be able to move onto the next stage!!

civicxx · 01/09/2018 23:36

@Crossfitgirl

Thanks for the reply about the brand of tests! Have only just seen message now but picked up some boots ones today. Did nearly pick up the clearblue ones think it was £35 for 20 of them and 4 pregnancy tests, wishing id got those now, may get partner to pick some up after work on Monday & do both to see if they give a different result! :)

gjchapman · 02/09/2018 08:37

@Amber28 good plan. Doctors are a bit useless!

@FlapJackered no I've not had anything done yet. To be honest I'm a tad scared to go ;( they say after people have the dye done they generally get pregnant after, which is random.

@Amber28 so glad that that one has come back good for you. Good luck with the next one let me know.

I was thinking DH getting tested first would be easier, he's mentioned it but I don't know how to persuade him to actually go. He hates Doctors and is the men's test as 'physical' for want of a better word as I presume!? Confused

gjchapman · 02/09/2018 08:38

Sorry bold everywhere!

RobynC19 · 02/09/2018 08:41

So no period or positive test I could cry I just no it's going to be another long wait and I will be back up the doctors, I feels like I'm not ovulating at all and don't feel like the doctors are taking this seriously it's been 6 months and I have had 1 period but due to my age there not bothered

MrsC87 · 02/09/2018 08:46

So ovulation day I think was yesterday and we couldn't dtd the deed due to dh not being home. We dtd 3 days leading up to ovulation and intend to dtd the today. I'm worried because we missed ovulation that we have scuppered our chances this month 😞 having a mini panic right now!

Crossfitgirl · 02/09/2018 09:07

@daisiesandpeonies I'm ok thanks, I got over my meltdown and am planning how I can be less stressed next month. I may stop temping and I may keep ovulation week to myself and see how it goes. How are you? Have you had a nice holiday?

@amber28 and @flapjackered did you say you'd been trying over a year? Also did they ask how regularly you had sex? I worry that even if I go after 6 months with my PCOS, they may tell me to bugger off if we've not actually been "trying" the whole time.

My diet has been terrible this week, I've had a macdonalds, a takeaway, loads of ice cream and some gin and street food yesterday! Back on it today too!

@civicxx maybe stick with the cheapies and see how you get on, they do work, and the clearblue are so pricey- but I'd keep testing a few days past your positive just in case you get more than one peak like i did this month!

@gjchapman I am gonna get my DH to get tested before I do too. When he was younger he smoked a looooot, and not just cigarettes. He hasn't for years now and is much healthier but he worries it may have impacted.

@robync19 I'd keep going and stamp your feet. Or try a different doctor maybe? Don't let them fob you off. If it was me i would be going out of my mind! Sometimes they need a bit of pressure on them to do something! Explain how much it's impacting you, or tell them it's making you stressed / depressed - if it's impacting on your life they are much more likely to do something. And if you're not accepting of them doing notjing, they are much more likely to do something:-)

Good luck hun xxx
