TTC #1
Age 24
Came off the pill last month. Just looking for some advice and support as we have not told family yet. Don’t want added pressure. Great to follow other peoples journeys too!

ValidUser · 30/08/2018 20:09

@Delilah7 I'm fine, but friend had a stillbirth and I'm feeling sort of guilty for TTC?

Irrational, but conflicted!

Delilah7 · 30/08/2018 20:28

@ValidUser oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. :( that is the worst thing I could imagine a women to go through. Love to your friend. She wouldn't want you to feel guilty hun but I understand why you feel that way. Take some time out and check in with us on the weekend? Love to you xxx

Delilah7 · 30/08/2018 20:29

@Chocolate45 welcome. Fire away hun! Xx

MrsR16 · 30/08/2018 20:29

@Crossfitgirl haha! Nesting could be right... DH went "shall we do this?" And I was like "no, we need to do this, this and this as well as that!" 😊

@Delilah7 my skin is so awful at the moment, even make-up's not covering it! It makes me very sad... I've always had problem skin, but since coming off the pill it's been horrendous!

Welcome all new ladies!

Delilah7 · 30/08/2018 20:30

@MrsR16 I've had a few flare ups but nothing like this. They won't go AT ALL! Xx

Chocolate45 · 30/08/2018 20:53

Thank you. I’m taking folic acid supplements but worried because I’ve been on the pill for over 5 years. Has anyone found that it has taken longer to conceive after being on BC for a long time?

MrsR16 · 30/08/2018 20:55

@Chocolate45 there's nothing medically proven that says it takes longer to conceive after coming off BC - I was on the pill for 10 years without a break and the doctors advised it would be fine to start trying straightaway

ValidUser · 30/08/2018 20:56

@Delilah7 thanks for being kind and seeing things from all sides. You're good people!

Delilah7 · 30/08/2018 20:59

@ValidUser as always. Here if you need me xx

poodlepip · 30/08/2018 21:02

@shelly10 @Lougg having the same confusion. I am fairly sure I ov'd 9d ago only a 2wk after having implant put (positive opks and symptoms) then AF popped her head up yesterday.
I suspect it will take a while to settle and ovulation will be a bit hit and miss for a while?

Chivari · 30/08/2018 21:03

Hi @Chocolate45 it definitely DOES NOT take longer to get pg after birth control. I was on it for 7 years straight and I got pg within 2 weeks of stopping the pill! My advice is to get at it ASAP and use the Flo app to predict ovulation

stormtrooperjulian · 30/08/2018 21:04

@shelly10 it can take a while for ovulation and regular cycles to kick back in after having the implant out. Seems to happen immediately for some and take months for others. When did you have your implant out?

CookieWaffle · 30/08/2018 21:05

Ahh @ValidUser hope your friend is ok :( please don't feel guilty though. I'm sure she'd be very happy for you if it happens. Sending lots of hugs your way xx

Chocolate45 · 30/08/2018 21:21

@Chivari well that’s good to know and Congratulations! I’d love it to happen so soon but I think I’m thinking too much about it. It’s sending me crazy. What symptoms did you have?

Crossfitgirl · 30/08/2018 21:29

@shelly10 @Lougg @poodlepip my apps all predicted I would ovulate on cd12, As my cycle is 26 days.
But it's been CD 17, 18 and 18 for the last 3 months.
The apps just use the average, but get smarter as you add your test results. They still predict me ovulating sooner than my tests show, even if just by a day or 2.

Xx

Sorry only just logging on and need to catch up but can anyone tell me if this OPK is positive or will it be in the morning? Sorry I've not caught up on the feed I've just never had a positive OPK before....

TTC first baby... mega thread!
Crossfitgirl · 30/08/2018 21:32

@validuser how awful for your friend, I would definitely be feeling guilty too - even though you shouldnt at all - we are just built like that, and we are sensitive to how others are feeling. Your poor friend Xxx

Crossfitgirl · 30/08/2018 21:34

@mrsc87 i would say that's very nearly positive but not quite. Have you tested any other times? I'd test in the morning, early afternoon and evening to try make sure you don't miss it xx

MrsC87 · 30/08/2018 21:36

I tested this morning and was hardly anything there, so will test again tomorrow. Going to DTD tonight anyway just in case as doing smep. Don't want to miss any opportunity lol. Thankyou for your help @Crossfitgirl

MrsC87 · 30/08/2018 22:03

So I've caught up, welcome all the newbies!
Hope you are doing okay @ValidUser and let us know how the GP goes tomorrow @Delilah7 - I hope you are okay?
Sending lots of baby dust to all those on the 2ww! 💕

Chivari · 30/08/2018 22:10

@Chocolate45 I was very tired and had sensitive nipples. Once AF didn't turn up I took a test and it was positive. Fingers crossed for you x

MrsR16 · 30/08/2018 22:28

@Chivari if only all pregnancy symptoms were the same for everyone! That's exactly what I've been having... 😕🤞🤞

shelly10 · 30/08/2018 22:43

Thanks ladies, @Lougg @poodlepip I think you're both right and it may take a while to regulate yet. I think because I've had a period I assumed that was me back to normal- and that might not be the case yet. I'll keep DTD every other day and using OPKs each day I think.
@Crossfitgirl thanks for the info about the apps, I've only been using it for the last month so need to give that longer too, like you said it will get more accurate as time goes on! Thanks again xxx

Chivari · 30/08/2018 22:46

Fingers crossed for you @MrsR16 when is due?
