As for folic acid just start taking it again and keep it as regular as you can!

Delilah7 · 26/08/2018 19:54

@ChaosMoon it was hard but oh well :( xx

cupcakesandglitter · 26/08/2018 20:40

@NeverStopExploring ooh yes I'll remember :) I've started doing weights - I think I'm going to speak to my GP about it; I have a lot of fat on my arms (and legs and tum) and generally need to tighten up. I just don't want to do anything that won't be safe! I'd love to go swimming, but I'm not confident enough yet x

NeverStopExploring · 26/08/2018 20:56

@cupcakesandglitter I started weights before Xmas and they work wonders but haven’t done them in a few months Blush I’m not sure how good I will be at swimming as I haven’t done it in so long either! Don’t think lounging around a pool on holiday counts as genuine swimming time Grin I would be interested to hear what your go suggests regarding weights if you wouldn’t mind sharing when you’ve been

gebs · 26/08/2018 21:06

Hello Smile long time lurker and wanted to join as well if that's okay..
I'm ttc 1, 30 years old and stopped taking the pill in June so cycle 2/3 ish. I also have hormone issues and take bromocriptine which is suppose to help fertility but I still worry it might take time. Periods seem to normal-ish with cycles around 33days and use flo to track, ov day is tomorrow so starting the tww soon. Signed up to a 10k in October to distract myself from overthinking it all!

Congrats on all the bfps so far, fingers crossed for us all x

cupcakesandglitter · 26/08/2018 21:07

@NeverStopExploring lounging around the pool is halfway there ;)

Yes of course!! 'AF' seems to have stopped/is stopping. Hopefully I can get back to the gym in a couple of days - I'll share my routine then if you want? Xx

NeverStopExploring · 26/08/2018 21:19

Yes please @cupcakesandglitter I need to drag my bottom off the sofa and back into shape!

MrsC87 · 26/08/2018 21:33

Yes please @NeverStopExploring, any info/advice is helpful.
Sorry for the late reply, only just got home from an evening with friends.
Just about to catch up on the rest of the thread....

NeverStopExploring · 26/08/2018 21:36

@MrsC87 it’s on page 9 the very long post! Smile

RanchoRelaxo · 26/08/2018 21:39

Welcome gebs! 😊

Still no AF.. might test in the morning if nothing shows before then, but still cramping so who knows!

Is anyone else going to test tomorrow morning?

MrsC87 · 26/08/2018 21:40

Sorry caught up and saw your advice! Thankyou @NeverStopExploring! Shall start planning my meals a lot more around the info you have given me.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable bank holiday 😘

MrsC87 · 26/08/2018 21:45

Strangely I knew about the cat poo, great reason that the hubby has to change the litter tray 😜
My sister also said avoid drinking from pop cans as they can be stored in warehouses where rats pee on them- apparently this is harmful too....just googled it to see if so and she was right!

gebs · 26/08/2018 21:51

Fingers crossed rancho 🤞🏻 last month I used 4 tests, all negative and af turned up 10 days later than predicted 😑

PinguPengo · 26/08/2018 21:56

Thanks @NeverStopExploring that’s such a useful post. I am taking folic acid but not the others so I might see if I can add them into my diet either from food or supplements. I always worry about my iron levels as I don’t eat much red meat or leafy greens, I didn’t know it was so important for pregnancy and TTC so I definitely need to do look at that.

Hope everyone enjoys the bonus day off tomorrow (if you get it) and looking forward to updates and more BFPs soon. Smile

purplestar9 · 26/08/2018 22:12

@RanchoRelaxo what day in your cycle are you? I won't be testing tomorrow but Wednesday hopefully if AF doesn't arrive in the meantime! Thought it was coming today as I have had cramping but nothing yet and the cramping seems to have stopped, not due till Tuesday anyway but thought it was strange!

cupcakesandglitter · 26/08/2018 22:28

@MrsC87 DH does the cat litter - glad I will have a legitimate excuse for not doing it 😂

That's so disgusting about the cans - I'm not going to buy any!! So gross!

Patapouf · 26/08/2018 22:40

mrsc I’m overweight and having a daily battle with myself about postponing TTC to lose some weight, I’m terrified I’m being selfish by putting my desire for a baby over the possible risks and complications a higher BMI has during pregnancy. Also, I’m worried my weight will prevent TTC success!

Congratulations ttcat!!! And mrsreader I bet you are both thrilled

Baby talk must have been tough delilah, here’s hoping you’ll have good news to share with them soon.

flapajckered fingers crossed for you!

RanchoRelaxo · 26/08/2018 22:46

Purplestar9 am 9dpo today, but af normally shows 8/9dpo, so either am preggers, or the vit c tablets I take have made my luteal phase longer, win win either way I think! Have had cramps since 7dpo and the constant feeling that my period is starting 😂 how many dpo are you?

AngeloMysterioso · 26/08/2018 23:02

Reposting from our other thread with a bit of extra info-

Me - 33 in 2 weeks
DH - 33
TTC #1
Cycle - not actually sure when we’ll be able to start at this point

I've had a hefty setback this week- a recent blood test suggests that I have subclinical hypothyroidism- for TTC my TSH level should be below 2.5 as there's an increased risk of miscarriage and developmental problems if it's higher than that, and atm it's 7.77. My GP said to have a second test done in 6 weeks (Shock) and he's going to speak to an endocrinologist, and then we'll look at putting me on medication to bring my levels down and once they're at an acceptable level, then we can start TTC.

I'm absolutely gutted. I had been hoping to start on my next cycle (AF arrived day before yesterday) and be pregnant by Christmas, at this rate I won't even have started by then. It doesn't help that we spent all day yesterday with our friends and their new baby, and I've been looking at maternity clothes online. I haven't been able to bring myself to tell DH yet, he's been so excited about it. Part of me wants to throw caution to the wind and crack on anyway, but I know I wouldn’t forgive myself if I MCd. I feel like crying.

purplestar9 · 26/08/2018 23:05

@RanchoRelaxo I'm 12DPO today, but CD34. Hopefully it's a good sign! Keep us updated!

FlapJackered · 26/08/2018 23:18

@RanchoRelaxo - good luck! I am testing again tomorrow too if af doesn't show up overnight. Pretty sure it is going to be a bfn though as getting v crampy now.

Thanks @Patapouf 🤞🏻.
I wouldn't beat yourself up! You can only do what you can and if you do get pregnant the chances are it won't affect anything, but if there is any risk I am sure the doctors will make sure you are monitored carefully. Mothers of all shapes and sizes have babies all the time without a problem.
I have been on holiday for my tww and have been drinking every night, it will be Sod's law I get pregnant this cycle and will feel the guilt of that! I think there will always be some aspect of your lifestyle that isn't ideal, but babies are hardy things!

@NeverStopExploring - that is really interesting although not wining at the avoiding alcohol this cycle 😳 I am back to sobriety now I am home from hols but still feel a bit guilty.

Welcome @gebs !

@Delilah7 I hope you're ok lovely? X

FlapJackered · 26/08/2018 23:25

@AngeloMysterioso so sorry you're having a tough time of it. I was in exactly the same boat as you with HypoT I had a TSH of around 7. It is really frustrating isn't it but at least you know now rather than ttc without any luck. If it's any help once I was put on LevoT I felt so much better in myself and the wait to ttc flew by much quicker than I thought it would. I feel your pain though as it is not fun when an extra hurdle is put in the way.

AngeloMysterioso · 26/08/2018 23:33

@FlapJackered thank you- I did actually get pregnant last year but had a termination (long story) so it doesn't look like we have fertility issues. It's more the risk of MC I'm afraid of.

FlapJackered · 27/08/2018 06:36

Just woke up to a massive bbt dip so I am not going to bother testing Af is on her way.
Nice of her just to wait around a bit just to give me that extra hope!
Good luck to everyone else testing this morning.

daisiesandpeonies · 27/08/2018 06:57

@FlapJackered I think I'm not going to bother testing either as I'm so cranky, cramps typical PMS. Was going to do it tomorrow if AF doesn't come today but don't want to waste tests. I hate that feeling of waiting for it - heart pounding, guts churning - I actually prefer it when AF beats the BFN!
