Thanks @Hopefulforourrainbow -yep I'm uk (Shropshire) based.

I've been doing so much research my head is about to explode. I don't know wether to ask for a referral to the local hospital (they have a consultant who deals with miscarriage both NHS and private) or to try for Tommys miscarriage clinic in Birmingham or prof Quenby in Coventry. Part of me wants it local, but if the experts are in Birmingham maybe I should go there.

I'm just so scared they will make me go through this again before they'll investigate.

Why is this so hard for us?

Hopefulforourrainbow · 25/09/2018 09:05

Yeah if there's an option to see an expert I would do that. No such thing in Scotland unfortunately! Not sure if you've gone through our last thread but I've had a pretty bad experience at clinic here to the point where I ended up complaining. Not looking forward to my follow up appointment tomorrow! Yeah it really sucks. All my friends are having babies. My close friends and I started trying round about the same time. Guess we're at that age! Some of them are announcing 2nd pregnancies and I can't even seem to have baby no1!

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 25/09/2018 10:36

laney79 you're not too far from me. I am currently under the FMU at City Hospital in Birmingham and they are absolutely fantastic, the care I've received so far during this pregnancy is literally faultless.

Toastiesalldaylong · 26/09/2018 00:28

I can't get referred unless we lose another one :-( apparently chemicals don't count. I'm only 28 and partner is the same age so hopefully we have just had bad luck. I'm thinking about having some testing done privately though as I'm not sure how well we can cope with another loss. Seems like everyone but us is pregnant atm!
Our hospital were great in the EPAU then suddenly became really crap and wouldn't give me a sick note (I think they were implying it was too early at 6 weeks so I should just crack on!)

Im still bleeding (sorry tmi!) and having small clots 4 days after I've passed the sac. Can't remember if I had this last time, can anyone remember? Just want it all to be done with so we can try again.

Today for the first time I got angry. I've done a lot of begging and praying to whatever is out there that might be listening. Today I got angry and decided that we will have a healthy baby. Life isn't fair but we deserve this so much. Sorry I know I'm rambling!

TaylsN · 26/09/2018 03:09

Hi Ladies,
Sorry to see so many new names, but hope you find comfort here.
@irony that's a crazy rollercoaster! I'm happy to hear right now it's turned for the positive. Fingers crossed for you.
We had an appt with the midwife last week (at about 10+3) and they were able to hear a hb with the doppler Smile. Should be about 11+3 now and things seem fine. We are going for a scan Thurs to be sure things look good but so far we're optimistic

Hopefulforourrainbow · 26/09/2018 09:04

Hi everyone. Hope you're all well. We have follow up appointment at rmc today. Any advice on what to ask?
@labmum how are you doing? Did you have any side effects when taking b6? And when did you stop taking it? I've been taking it since cd1 and I'm on cd28 now. Really hoping for a bfp this month!
@Anne and @miami how are you both doing?

Labmum · 26/09/2018 13:55

@hopeful I hope the appointment is useful. Maybe ask about plan going forward, what happens when you get pregnant etc.
With the B6 I had no side effects other than ovulation being a couple of days earlier. Stopped taking after BFP but don't know if that's right or wrong.

whiteonesugar · 26/09/2018 15:00

Right I've taken the plunge and spent £45 on ovulation tests, pregnancy tests and conceive plus vitamins. I am going to make this bloody well happen and bloody well stick dammit.

The bleeding stopped yesterday but I have had some more today - would you count Saturday as CD1 (when the bleeding started)?

I am sure i can do this as I've done it before, I have a lovely DS and unless he was some sort of miracle from who knows where, I CAN have a baby.

I've book a docs appt in a month to request another referral to the RMC as i have now had 2 MC on the treatment so would like some more tests but going to TTC in the meantime anyway.

Pregnancy number 7 WILL happen and WILL work!!!!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 26/09/2018 17:29

Today's appointment was much better than last. Much nicer doctor who explained all the tests and my results. Said there's no reason why I would miscarry again and he's quite hopeful that we'll have a successful pregnancy. Also said can try aspirin and progesterone next time. Really hoping I've conceived this month. I guess time will tell! Symptom spotting already! It's annoying that I don't know when I've ovulated but we've had sex 12 times this month so surely that's enough!
Yes I would count 1st day of bleeding as CD1. Glad you're feeling hopeful though don't push yourself too much too quickly. I did that and feel better now having had the break that hubby wanted.

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/09/2018 17:47

So glad it went well today Hopefulforourrainbow! Thinking of you.

I'm still on aspirin and progesterone (up the front and the back, the glamour I tell you!). Definitely can't hurt and absolutely might help.

Crossing fingers and toes for you this cycle, impressed by your rate of shagging Grin When's AF due?

Good plan whiteonesugar and I'm impressed by your resolve! My RMC gave me the full whack of tests again after a second mc on treatment, didn't show anything, but they gave me ALL of the drugs for this one, despite no diagnosis.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 26/09/2018 18:52

I guess it's a perk of being on holiday 😉 AF due next Thurs. How many weeks are you now? Consultant today said just to take progesterone until 12 weeks.

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/09/2018 19:20

16 today. Genuinely can’t really believe it.

I was told to take it till 12 weeks, then 20, now around 26 though I’m not sure why. I’m on 5 400mg pessaries a day. I had a bleed and he upped it after that.

All good though.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 26/09/2018 19:55

Wow that's a lot! It seems to be doing the trick though! So happy for you ❤

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/09/2018 20:41

Thank you x

Sending ALL good thoughts for you. Your holiday will have been so good for you both inside and out.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 26/09/2018 21:15

Thank you x

whiteonesugar · 27/09/2018 08:52

I wont go too mad, we were so lucky to fall so quickly this time (first month which I wasnt expecting) I am fully expecting a few months of nothing, anything else is a bonus.

I am just so sick of feeling sad and i figured that worrying etc wont change what is going to happen (whether good or bad) so I may as well be positive?

I was on one x 400mg per day cyclogest - i am wondering whether next time i should increase it. I dont know if the GP will refer me back to the RMC again - I've seen the consultant twice now but 3+ years ago. And my new GP wasnt particularly understanding so I'm not holding my breath.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 27/09/2018 09:44

Have you had testing already @white?

whiteonesugar · 27/09/2018 09:58

@hopefulforourrainbow

Yes. In a nutshell my story is this;

March 2013 - MMC - 12 week scan - ERPC
Nov 2013 - MC at 6 weeks
March 2014 - MC at 6 weeks

Referred to RMC. Tests all clear. Suggested cyclogest and asprin. Asprin all the time until 34 weeks and cyclogest from ovulation to BFN or 16 weeks of pregnancy - which was then increased to 24 when i was pregnant with DS.

June 2014 - Feb 2015 - Pregnant with DS - all fine, great pregnancy - well looked after by EPU and Shared care.

October 2015 - MMC at 9 weeks - heart stopped at 8 weeks. Naturally MC so couldn't karotype. Was on treatment.

Referred to RMC again by EPU this time, consultant didn't seem too fussed, said it was most likely a pregnancy that wouldn't have worked anyway regardless of treatment. We decided to have a break.

Fast forward to this year. Fell pregnant August, MC last weekend at 6 weeks exactly. EPU were great but cant refer me back to RMC, has to be GP.

I've now moved and have a new GP. When I saw him to request referral to EPU at 4 weeks pregnant (as i'd been offered before) he said that it didn't sound like i had been through recurrent miscarriage (!!!!) so I am not holding out much hope for him.

So that's me. What a sorry little tale eh.

I'm so lucky to have my DS. I am starting to think he is an actual miracle.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 27/09/2018 12:18

Sounds like you've had an awful time of it. Your GP sounds terrible. My EPU made referral to rmc for me. I'm surprised yours won't.
I had mmc at 13 weeks in August last year. Baby stopped growing at 5+6. Mc again in the January at around 6 weeks (blame that on shingles) and then again in March though they think that one was ectopic. Was going to have methotrexate but it had been reabsorbed and hcg came down by itself. All tests have come back fine. We've taken a break and this is our first month trying again. I really hope we get a bfp next week! If not I'm going to try www.luisazissman.co.uk/?p=647

whiteonesugar · 27/09/2018 12:29

Yea he wasn't that great. Another GP i saw there was fab but she was a locum.

Ah thats horrible too, I'm so sorry :(

Ah that looks interesting, I've ordered these which are coming today and i hope they help.

www.amazon.co.uk/Conceive-Plus-Womens-Fertility-Support/dp/B0734SDKV5/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?keywords=conceive+plus+vitamins&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1538047777&sr=8-1

Hopefulforourrainbow · 27/09/2018 12:55

Oh they look good. I've used the conceive plus lube before. Vitamin wise I've tried pregnacare and seven seas trying for a baby.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 27/09/2018 13:26

Oh I forgot about the chasteberry fruit too (also known as Agnus castus or vitex). I took that for a month before 1st bfp and a month before 2nd bfp. A friend with pcos took it for a month before her bfp too. She's due in November.

whiteonesugar · 27/09/2018 13:55

I have heard of agnus cactus actually.

I usually just take Folic Acid so trying the conception vits for a change.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 27/09/2018 14:23

Hope we're both lucky!
