Congratulations @TheMagicTorch!!

It's cycle 9 for us (tracked) but cycle 13 since coming off contraception last July and not even a hint of a bfp in that time.

I'm 29 and hubby is 30 next month so still young-ish(!) I think lol.

It's cycle day 19 for me, and we've been using clear blue digital ovulation tests for the last three months (alongside the cheapy opks) so pretty sure I ovulated around day 15 - which would make me approximately 4 dpo. We also did SMEP religiously this month so hoping that this is our month - otherwise we will start making enquiries with the GP.....

Omg @themagictorch congratulations!! I thought when you said you were late how could you have waited so long! Were you waiting to be more dpo to make sure it showed on the test? Im so happy for you!

How long were your cycles if you don't mind me asking? I'm a bit worried that I'm only oving on day 17/18 of a 25/26 day cycle, so it's only a short LP of around 8 days.

@mrsreader that depends on the length of your cycle and what day it says to start testing on the instructions of the OPK you are using. Some are different depending on brand. I have to start on day 8 for my 25 day cycle with the ICs but with a clear blue it's day 7 x

Thanks, this is my first cycle after coming off the mini pill so not sure what my normal cycle length is yet! Will just start OPK testing now and see if it throws up a positive over the next week or so!

@MrsReader I would start testing now just to be on the safe side. Then you will get to know your cycle for next time.

@Delilah7 - that's really not fair on you. I hope things are a bit calmer now and she is being more supportive. Take it easy on yourself. X

I have just packed everything for my holiday and have packed a wash bag full of ovulation tests! 🙈 just can't let it go, I swear to god if I still have a flashing smiley when I get back I may just start filling my house with cats and accept my inevitable future as a crazy cat lady! 🐱

@flapjackered I think I will try wait until at least 10dpo which will be Tuesday. My nipples are starting to feel a bit sensitive this morning, which is disappointing as it's an AF sign.

I know what you mean, i wasn't going to test next cycle as we are on hol, but I've gone and bought a CBD! I just can't not know - plus now I've had a positive OPK i need to know if it's coming at the same time every month!

@mrsM2017 good on you for trying smep! How often had you been DTD up to now? We've had sex maybe twice each month around ovulation so I'm debating at what point to say to DH we need to start every other day, or start trying smep ourselves. We aren't "actively trying" yet (despite me doing ov tests and initiating when I think I'm ovulating hehe). This is cycle 4 for us and I'm 30.

@Crossfitgirl I am basically in the same boat as you - not "actively trying" but am keeping an eye. Managed to DTD twice around ovulation I think and am now due AF in six days according to Flo. Still don't really have any symptoms. Really going to try and hold out until AF is late before testing but may be easier said than done.

@MrsReader I have been on the pill/mini pill for about 14 years save a break of a few months about three years ago and I waited 3 weeks for AF but then seemed to get right back into normal cycles

Can I ask what SMEP means?

@Patapouf it's a TTC plan that some people follow to try and time sex for best chances of conceiving. If you google SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) the info will come up x

Hey everyone! Just wondered what everyone's experiences are of the FRERs? (Hope I've spelt that right) I've been doing cheapies from home bargains currently 10 dpo but nothing showing up. AF due 15th August. I know I should be patient but...you know what this wait is like!! Congrats to everyone with good news! Xxx

@CrystalBlaze 😂 oh no! definitely good luck though!! Look out for those Magpies too - I am stupidly obsessed with counting magpies

@Bettyhop frers are much more reliable I think. I have had bad experience with false positive in IC and all the reviews for them seem to say that despite what they say they are far less sensitive than other tests. Have a look at the amazon reviews.

@Crossfitgirl - I will be thinking of you on Tuesday, really hope it is your month! 🤞🏻 I don't think you can rely too much on symptoms as I have heard people swearing AF is going to come with cramps etc and then it being a bfp. 🤞🏻

I am going to try SMEP too, was meant to this month but with one thing or another it hasn't happened. At the airport now off on holiday so hoping the relaxation will give us a kick we need!

Thanks @flapjackered that's good to know, I'm convinced it's AF coming now though as we DTD this morning and (TMI warning) what came out afterwards had a slight pinky tinge to it, similar to the spotting I tend to get the day before AF.

But now it's gone and so have my sensitive nipples. I'm over analysing like crazy!!

On the plus side, DH initiated the sex!!! For the first time in at least 2 months!! Yaaay!

@flapjackered Hope you get lots of baby dancing done on holiday, lots of chill time, and bring us all back the sun and a BFP!!! Xxx

Had to take my pregnancy test today to make sure the miscarriage was all out. It was negative and I feel so sad after having a BFP before. :( xx

@crystalblaze it's nice to have someone else in the same boat - I don't think my DH is that fussed about having a baby immediately and neither was I when we agreed to stop using condoms, but obviously we ladies have all the tracking to do, so it's hard not to think about it all the time!

Are you telling your OH when you're fertile / talking about having sex around that time at all, or are you just trying to keep efforts close to ovulation without him knowing?

Ps yes bird shit is meant to be lucky!!

Awh @delilah7 that must have been heartbreaking. I didn't know you had to retake a test, I can't imagine how hard that must have been. It may be telling you what you already know, but horrible to have to do all the same.

@crossfitgirl - no I haven't kept him up to speed with all the ins and outs (excuse the pun ) but luckily my positive OPK coincided with us DTD anyway this month. I was tracking as much to get an idea of my cycle after coming off the pill as much as anything but would obviously be thrilled/terrified to get a bfp

How about you? How many cycles have you done?

Oh cool, thanks sunshine that’s more or less the appproach DH and I took this month but I might follow it more carefully if we aren’t successful this cycle.
