Darling Ladies ... I wish us all luck on this new thread (especially me!) ... I hope that we have the same great amount of graduates that the last thread had!

So, group hug and let's get to it! Wooo Wooooo!!!!

Best of luck to everyone. We are approaching prime bd time and I am trying to make an effort to stay awake long enough to keep trying!!! Am using persona for the first time this month since having dd (now 6.5mths) and am hoping it gives us good luck like last time - conceived first month of using it, had clear 'o' signs which indicated that I was ovulating much later in my cycle than I had previously thought....around days 20/21 despite having a 28/30 day cycle. Anyway, fingers crossed for everyone and look forward to hearing some happy news soon. For many reasons including huge work traumas, I really hope it happens soon :)

LucieB · 26/08/2004 11:52

ps what does 'BFN' stand for???

BeckiF · 26/08/2004 11:58

This is a too much info post but the other night my dp said that I 'smelt' extra sexy, and we noticed I was much more 'lubricated' than normal AND I had a small jelly like discharge. As you know I've not had af for 11 months and am currently on max dose of Metformin. Does this possible mean I've ovulated??

sweetheart · 26/08/2004 12:07

Beckif, I conceived DD on Metformin 1500mg daily, I was like you, didn't have periods in nearly 2 years, started on Clomid, weight went up, diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis and blocked tubes, started on Metformin, weight started to fall off and hey presto, pregnant, good luck, I really mean that from the bottom of my heart, men are so fortunate, I was speaking to DH last night when we went to bed, he was so angry as we had received a letter from the hospital yesterday, I was due to have a HSG on last AF, but due to staff holidays they couldn't fit me in, he hit the roof when he saw the letter, it basically said that if HSG is not carried out on next AF, they will whisk me in for a Lap & Dye (had 2 of these already), I had stressed to DH at the time that they couldn't fit me in and he just said we will wait until next month. He went off in a huff , so when he made an appearance last night, I told him that even though we were a team and he wanted another baby as much as I did, all of this that is happening, is happening to me, then I cried, cried alot actually, I told him I felt stressed like my body was not keeping up with what was going on., he just cuddled me and kept telling me that we have been here before and look what happened, it was 5 years ago in November on DH 30th birthday, whenI was told I would never concieve, and I proved them wrong, but you know when you want to throw the towel in, well thats me, but tomorrow is another day

Cyndii · 26/08/2004 14:09

beckif ~ sounds very positive ~ good luck!

pamina 3 ~ you must be wrecked as I'm not able for it!! Great at the time but it does get trying!!

I'd say it's true about the Irish Sperm ~ just look at all the large families that are over here ~ I'm the eldest of 7 which is very normal, but then dh is from a family of 3.

Loads of baby dust for everyone!!

Cyndii · 26/08/2004 14:11

malinka ~ you poor honey ~ I feel so much for you. I feel awful for you..........................................big big big hug. Poor chicken..

sweetheart · 26/08/2004 14:16

malinki,

Big hugs to you - I feel down sometimes about not conceiving so must be 10 times worse for you. As per my usual instruction - go and grab yorself a cuppa and a big piece of choc cake!!!!

Anyone seeing a pattern emerge here - yes I admit it, I'm adicted to choc cake!!!!

malinki · 26/08/2004 14:23

Thanks for the support, I know I will be ok, I have to be as I already have a DD (aged 4 going on 14) who is the product of our success, but also tomorrow is my last day at work, I'm leaving my full time job for a part time position in my DD school (she starts next week), the only reason (and I do feel bitter about this) is that I'm only leaving because they wouldn't let me have flexi hours , and I am ttc as well, so I am just having one of those, "nobody knows what i'm going through" days and feeling very very sorry for myself, so I apologise, please don't feel sorry for me, see

malinki · 26/08/2004 14:24

I will pay a visit to the chocolate machine

Cobweb · 26/08/2004 14:52

Cyndii my AF is due this weekend!

I am due on Saturday and today I have been to the loo and have a CM discharge almost like at the ovulation stage. Does anyone know what this means

I keep thinking its bad news and have done two tests already (talk about obsessive)

Any advice girlies please as I am going out of my tiny mind
xxx

Well I'm supposed to be at my most fertile point as of yesterday (according to babycentre dates) and both of us are too tired due to work etc to have bothered in the last few days. Really need to gather some energy if we stand a hope this month.

Pamina3, Cyndii, I'm another lucky lady married to an Irish man - DH is from Belfast, we've not been across for a while but have nearly got some dates sorted out for early september, think we're going to fly to Dublin then get the train over to Belfast - Aberdden not the greatest for direct flights of the affordalbe variety. Hope this is the month for you guys, it's all sounding rather hopeful!

Fonzie, I hope you're feeling brighter today, have a lovely shopping trip with your mum and fingers crossed it's good news!

Malinki, sorry you're having a rotten day, your Dh sounds like he's really supportive, keep talking to one another (how's his leg doing?). All the best for starting your new job. Definatley a day for chocolate!

Bluestar all the best with job hunting.

Cobweb, I'm not sure what it means but could be a good sign, I had slightly more cm than usual just before I found out I was pregnant before/after af was due - was my first pregnancy so not 100% sure. Really hope it's good news especially so soon after your mc - keep us posted.

Great reading everyone's name suggestions, they're all so cool - if I need help when it finally happens I'll know where to ask. Love to everyone x x x

Pamina3, it would be nice to meet up with you and Cyndii at some point if we can get organised. It must have been a bit frustrating having dd called Sophie when she was actually a Pheobe (great name isn't it?). I think you went for a sensible option though - love some of the traditional irish names especially girls names like Naimh and Aoife but am mindful of some of the political garbage that can be tied into names/assumptions made as to which "side" you're from etc - not that Dh or his family are caught up in any of that - but have never been sure if it's just best avoided. Am Welsh by birth myself so if need celtic names can always draw from that instead. Am I just worrying about nothing?

Pamina3, you've probably already said this but I'm too lazy to look down the thread, is it just the one dd that you have or are there more ?

Thank you girls for your comments on my CM , it is out of the ordinary, as there is a lot and i normally only notice that when I am ovulating

AF due date is this weekend, so we'll see

Twiga · 26/08/2004 17:12

We'd like at least three if not four - I guess Cyndii has a point about this tendancy for large families. Two years seems like a nice gap, there is 18months between me and my Ds it was always nice that we were close enough in age to get on really well but in different school years so we had our own friends etc. Think we'd be looking to time ours with similar gap - just need to produce no1 now!

Twiga · 26/08/2004 17:14

Cobweb, will you test at the weekend if af doesn't appear?

I don't know what to do, I did two tests in the week and they were negative. I've been obsessed and its only yesterday and today that I thought "what the hell", got really casual about it!

I have my DS 5th birthday tomorrow and his party on Saturday, so will probably do it after that.

Thank you xxx

Twiga · 26/08/2004 17:33

Cobweb, you test when you're ready, being laid back about it is probably the best way to go - organising saturdays party sounds like it'll keep you busy - are you expecting many kids over for it?

Pamina3 - 8! can you imagine ?
