2nd month properly TTCing, and on CD12! Predict that I'll ovulate on cd16-18.

Anyone else in similar situation? Let's hope for good results in a few weeks! :)

Me!! I'm cycle day 13 and on our 3rd month ttc (2nd month doing it proerly though!)
When do you normally ovulate? I'm usually around cd16 but it can vary quite a bit.
I already have a ds who's 15 months and I'm 32 (dh is 31)
Fingers crossed this is our month! X

Prembabymum · 06/07/2018 23:11

Sorry, just re-read your op; you usually ovulate around day 16-18? We will be pretty much in synch then!

Dreamydaisy · 07/07/2018 01:28

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me joining your chat.
I am on day 16. I got my Peak ovulation today. I normally ovulate on day 15 so a day late this month. We sadly had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in April and have been trying since but no luck so far. Hopefully this month will be the month.

artemis2 · 07/07/2018 07:36

I'm so sorry for your loss. Hopefully this will be the month for you 😊

Now the 2 week wait is a pain! Hope you can keep yourself distracted and get a BFP!

artemis2 · 07/07/2018 07:38

Oooh, Prembabybum, I ovulate on cd16 too, I think! Using OPKs this month so hopefully will get confirmation!

Fingers crossed we all get through the 2 week wait without going crazy and with good results 😀

OP posts:
Dreamydaisy · 07/07/2018 11:34

The two week wait, is the worst part. I'm sure it goes slower than the first part.

I always start out so strong that I'm not going to test early or symptoms spot and by mid way through I've lost the plot and I get obsessed.

It would be nice if we all supported each other through the 2ww and someone helps stop me obsessing xx if your up for it????

purplestar9 · 07/07/2018 12:57

Hi, I think I may be a little ahead on the cycle than most of you at CD17 but I hope you don't mind me joining in.
I'm 27, TTC #1, cycle #2.
Im only tracking ovulation through an app so I'm not sure if it's accurate so I could be 3DPO but then again, maybe not!
I'm still fairly new to all this TTC but I have found myself coming back this site to read through the threads to pass the time for a while now!

Dreamydaisy · 07/07/2018 13:17

@purplestar9 I am the same, I read the posts but normally to scared to post anything. I go by an app to and clearblue sticks, I work nights so trying to take my temperature at the same time everyday is impossible for me. It's so much harder to track what is going on and when I'm ovulating

purplestar9 · 07/07/2018 13:25

@Dreamydaisy I think I'm just going to go off the concept that I could ovulate later than I think so we don't miss an opportunity.
I've been having some affects from coming off the pill (I think it's because of that) that I'm hoping will go away soon. I think the change in hormone after 11 years on the pill has messed me up a little!

Pudding01 · 07/07/2018 13:36

I'm on CD16, but not sure if I ovulated CD13 or CD15 as my temps went a bit weird around my +opk! 🤦🏼‍♀️ First time using BBT with my opks, but it's just confused me x

artemis2 · 07/07/2018 15:13

Love the idea of trying to keep each other sane through the 2 week wait! Last month I was a fool and tested early, only to be disappointed. I hope the longer I wait, the less impatient I'll get? Does that work for anyone else or does it just get worse?

This month I will not look for symptoms or do a test before I'm at least 1 day late (or so I hope.....)

@purplestar9 I went off the pill in March and have been really emotional since then and my periods have become 10x more painful. I hope our bodies will settle down soon :)

Can I join? I am on cd16 now and normally have super long cycles (the last one was 56 days 🙄) but just got a flashing smiley face on Clear blue so hoping to ovulate soon which will make it a much shorter cycle 🤞🏻

@artemis2 I did exactly the same thing last cycle testing early, so definitely not testing until af is due this time for the sake of my mental health!

purplestar9 · 07/07/2018 19:26

@artemis2 yeah my last period was a lot more painful too. I just really hope it doesn't take too long to either get back to normal or conceive because otherwise I may be driven crazy!
I'm also going to try not to test until at least AF is due, I don't want to get hopeful too early.

@FlapJackered I'm on CD 17 so we're close together at the moment. That is a long cycle, that must drive you mad! Hope this ones a bit shorter for you!

FlapJackered · 08/07/2018 16:57

Thanks @purplestar9!
It will be nice to have some company in the tww!

I got a solid smiley on Clear blue this morning! Hurrah! Does anyone know how long I have got before ov?
Dtd this morning but DH has an early morning tomorrow and I know is not going to appreciate me waking him up any earlier 🙄 so do you think tomorrow eve is still in time?

Pudding01 · 08/07/2018 17:32

I think you ovulate 12-36 hours after a positive test 🙂
Mines messed up as started temping too and it says I ovulated same day as my positive opk (tested at 8:20 and was negative again at 20:00), but I thought temps made it CD15 🤷🏼‍♀️ Guess I'll just test at the weekend

Anyone else on cd10-15? :)
Dreamydaisy · 08/07/2018 19:20

@purplestar9 I am the same try to cover all bases,we just dtd as much as possible around that time just to be safe.
On my app I seem to get a high reading on the conception calculate for out timing but I haven't gotten pregnant so far.
I worry that I'm gonna become obsessed and dtd will turn into a chore instead of us bonding as a couple.
I had my coil out earlier this year and while I haven't had any bad experiences I have read lots of bad stories about others experiences with womb linings, so that makes me worry.

purplestar9 · 08/07/2018 21:51

@Dreamydaisy I agree, i don't want it to start feeling like a chore. The problem I have at the moment is my cycles haven't regulated yet so I'm not completely sure of my ovulation date. Hopefully it'll become more regular so easier track (or of course I become pregnant!).
Sending good luck you :)

Dreamydaisy · 08/07/2018 22:30

Good luck to you to @purplestar9. Hopefully you will notice some patterns and your cycle will regulate soon.

I have only been monitoring my cycle in april, but have noticed I have a 13days luteal phase but I think I ovulated a day later than normal for some reason this month.

FlapJackered · 09/07/2018 10:45

@pudding01 it looks to me like you ovulated cd15 but I am not an expert?

@Dreamydaisy and @purplestar9 I am struggling with that with DH, I am so bad at initiating and making it romantic when I get a positive opk. It was pretty awful yesterday, very mechanical and not particularly enjoyable which is not what you want the conception of your child to be like! Any other time of the month though it is amazing, very frustrating..

I decided against waking DH up early this morning as I know it would just be the same if he wasn't into it. So I am hoping I haven't left it too late to dtd tonight (solid smiley yesterday morning?) So really got to put some effort into making it sexy...definitely not my forte :/

artemis2 · 09/07/2018 12:41

@FlapJackered I have the same problem! It feels a bit like a job that you're doing to get an outcome.

Now that you know when you ovulate, if you're not lucky this month, maybe next month you can ignore ovulation and just make sure you do it every other day the week that you're going to be fertile? That's what I'm hoping to do!

I think the smiley face means ovulation will be in 24-48 hours so you're probably fine if you get to it tonight. Also, since sperm can live for ~4-7 days in the female reproductive tract, since you did it yesterday, if you've already ovulated, conception might have already happened 😁

OP posts:
purplestar9 · 09/07/2018 13:14

@FlapJackered @artemis2 I know exactly what you mean. Myself and DH are not great at talking about it either (everything else communication wise is great), but we did try a couple of days ago and I think it's helped the situation!

I feel so tired today, and since about two weeks after coming off the pill I've been dealing with Tinnitus but the last day or so has been really quite bad. I've never had it before so dealing with it some days can be a struggle. Doc says he doesn't think it's related to the pill but I'm not so sure it can be a coincidence? Apparently change in hormones can start it, especially during pregnancy. (Somehow I don't think I've been pregnant for the last 7 weeks without knowing!)

Sorry... needed a rant! Think my DH is going to get fed up of me complaining about it!

Dreamydaisy · 09/07/2018 20:18

@purplestar9 feel free to have a rant on here if you need to. I think we all feel the pressure of trying each month and we can all relate and help support each other.

@Flapjackered I find it hard to feel in the mood when it's so damn hot, it's so off putting when your both panting and sweating cause of the heat not the passion xxx

What baby number is everyone trying for??

purplestar9 · 09/07/2018 20:46

@Dreamydaisy thank you :) it does make me feel better!
We're trying for number 1, how about you?

FlapJackered · 10/07/2018 08:34

@purplestar9 sorry to hear you're suffering with the pill withdrawal, I had it so bad for months after coming off it. I feel so much better now though, so it will sort itself out.

@Dreamydaisy - I jumped on DH last night, and he was like 'Really? It's 30c!' haha!
We are trying for number 1 too.

@artemis2 - good idea - I might do that next cycle, especially if I manage to shorten it this time. We normally only dtd once or twice a week and at the moment my fertile time could be anything from cd15 to cd45 so that's a lot of sex!

Temp rise this morning so just hoping it sticks around and then this cycle will be more like 30 days which would be amazing, compared to 56 last cycle...or preferably 9 months! Fx'd!

purplestar9 · 10/07/2018 13:17

@FlapJackered thank you, I'm really hoping my body sorts itself out soon!
CD 20 today for me so I still have 9 days till AF is due. So 10 days till I'm planning on testing if AF hasn't arrived. Do you think I can wait that long?!

I'm glad it feels a little cooler today, the heat was getting a little much. (Trust us brits to complain when it's hot!)
