Who’s trying SMEP this month?

Support thread for those giving smep a go this month! I’m CD6 so going to start soon. All fingers crossed that this works for us all this month.
Debating whether to buy CB OPK or just stick with IC - might do IC until around FW and then see if I can find a few old CB lying around to confirm a positive.
Anyone else giving this a go?

Hi - I’m new to MN and SMEP (this is my first post ever). I’m CD9, did the BD yesterday, but dp was feeling amorous this morning... does anyone know the disadvantage to dtd every day rather than every other day?

Welcome @melibob! As long as there aren't concerns about sperm count then every day is fine.

I'm really hoping for a stronger line on my OPK today. Managing to convince myself I'm not going to ovulate. Feeling quite stressed in general at the moment which isn't helping.

Thanks for the reply @NoseringGirl - my dp is 48 so it’s probably best to dtd every other day (because sperm motility decreases with age) until we get a positive OPK.

Hope you get you positive OPK soon, what CD are you on? I ov on CD11 last month which was earlier than my fertility app suggested

I'm CD13 and seeing a bit of progression on the OPK I just did. My ov day usually varies between around CD13-18 but has been a lot later before. I have PCOS so my reproductive system is all over the place 😆

I'm 2dpo so BD tonight, miss a night, then finally Thursday according to SMEP - should make the two week wait a bit more interesting anyway 😂

@noseringgirl I convinced myself I wasn't ovulating last month and had a huge panic and then I did ovulate just quite a bit later than 'normal'. So have faith!

I know this probably doesn't seem like a big deal to everyone else but I am thrilled!! Got a flashing smiley! High fertility! Wool woop!
Been in limbo with my cycles and honestly didn't expect to be so happy to understand what is happening!!

My question is, would you bd every day at this point? Or wait for solid smiley?

@Bas27 congrats!! When I saw that last month (after a CP the month before) I was so happy I think I forgot it wasn't a positive pregnancy test for a while!! I forgot there was a second part to complete!!

That's basically what DH said to me ... we didn't do anything yet... I was all "get ready boi"
Tested again when I got in from work (flashing 7am) and was solid. 2x baby dance tonight!

@Bas27 that is great 😃 I haven't had high fertility on those yet just goes straight to peak fertility after the empty circle.

Still waiting on that solid smiley CD17 feeling impatient 😂 although we dtd today any way - nice afternoon session when ds was away - we never get dtd during the day and it takes pressure off when you're tired at night!

We may continue to blame this weather on delayed Ov 😂

@justliketheysaid luckily my DP doesn't like football! I'm more bothered about missing love island!

We've done night 3 of Dtd after my static smiley on Sunday.. so now we just have to wait til Sunday 15th to test.

I was concerned the football would delay us too. I also said to DH that I was worried the stress of those penalties would delay my ovulation. He reckons I take football too seriously 🤣

I think I'm starting the tww now. Probably will make a post but also keep updated on here. Got a good feeling about smep. Still going to dtd tomorrow and then skip a day and again.
Not exactly stuck to the plan...

OPK has been nearly positive today. Sometimes that's as dark as it gets. We managed last night after skipping a couple of nights (DS2 has been sleeping badly in the heat) so hoping to get tonight in too. I reckon I'll see in temp rise in the next day or two.

Are you using ics?
I used these at the same time as my knitting to see what the result was. It was the darkest I had ever seen it but still a little way off positive and there was a solid smiley... so one of them was inaccurate. Guess which one I would put money on?
