Who’s trying SMEP this month?

Support thread for those giving smep a go this month! I’m CD6 so going to start soon. All fingers crossed that this works for us all this month.
Debating whether to buy CB OPK or just stick with IC - might do IC until around FW and then see if I can find a few old CB lying around to confirm a positive.
Anyone else giving this a go?

Has anyone here linked consistently high BBT as being an early pregnancy symptom? I was going over some old charts from last year (I used BBT tracking as natural contraception) and realised every cycle without fail, my BBT would drop and keep dropping around CD20. If I was pregnant, would it stay high?

Apologies if this is a dumb question...but I'm hoping if there's a way I can keep my hopes up through the TWW! CD20 is only 3 days away, way easier than waiting an entire week 😁

Firsttimer16 · 15/07/2018 08:02

@Angelmiracle I'm the same - I do t have any symptoms at all. Not even sore boobs which were my definite give away my last pregnancy so not holding it hope 🙁 but only 7dpo too so maybe not even impacted yet if it was going to happen? Only a few more days til testing!

@Kelsoid sounds like that's your pattern then! Some people notice their temps start dropping just before AF. Mine always stay up until mid AF. They've gone really high today though so that gave me a little hope.

I'm 9DPO today and just had a BFN. Very crampy and irritable. The very high temps are stopping me from feeling completely out.

Beaglemum93 · 15/07/2018 11:42

SMEP doesn't seem to have worked for me this month - BFNs at 12 and 13 dpo :( not even the slightest hint of a line.

Fingers crossed it has worked for the rest of you and maybe next month for me!

Firsttimer16 · 15/07/2018 11:52

@Beaglemum93 sorry to hear bfn. When is af due?

OP posts:
Beaglemum93 · 15/07/2018 11:57

@Firsttimer16 AF is due on Thursday but I ovulated earlier than usual so I assume it'll be early this month

BeeKeeping · 15/07/2018 14:53

What do you think ladies? Ov on CD22 given the +OPK? Although it wasn’t quite as dark as the control it was very close and all the others were glaringly negative. Also I was maybe just catching the end of the surge?

‘‘Tis very confusing!

BeeKeeping · 15/07/2018 14:55

The offending almost positive OPK!

Angelmiracle · 15/07/2018 15:28

@Firsttimer16 so strange we both feel nothing!! I feel like what's the point in testing but will play it by ear maybe day before AF on Wednesday 🤷🏼‍♀️

JustLikeTheySaid · 15/07/2018 15:52

I'm trying to rely on the fact that loads of people don't realise they're pregnant until late on - so symptoms can't be THAT obvious this early?

I feel nothing either except my boobs are super sore - but they always are before a period and they feel worse but it might just be the heat?

TheMagicTorch · 15/07/2018 17:24

@beaglemum93 same here and AF turned up today a bit early.
Going to try the plan this month as well x

Beaglemum93 · 15/07/2018 17:37

Sorry AF arrived @TheMagicTorch hopefully next month will be our month

NoseringGirl · 15/07/2018 17:40

@BeeKeeping it's hard to see from that chart, will hopefully be clearer in a few days when you've got some more temps on there. The temps heading up look promising though!

Sorry for the BFNs @Beaglemum93 and sorry again that AF got you @TheMagicTorch, hope SMEP does the job this cycle!

winterwarmers · 15/07/2018 17:46

4dpo big temp drop too early for implantation dip i think , hopefully it will go back up tomorrow

TheMagicTorch · 15/07/2018 18:30

Thanks @beaglemum93 🤞 for next month!
Thanks @noseringgirl hope so!
🤞 for you this cycle, I will be keeping an eye out for updates! X

dee7409 · 15/07/2018 18:34

3dpo and not too excited...never took notice of temp before but my temp is rising continuous since ov...i think that is a good sign according to the experts..ha ha

Angelmiracle · 15/07/2018 21:24

@TheMagicTorch Sorry again but I agree SMEP is a really good plan and I would keep with it too if af shows x

Firsttimer16 · 15/07/2018 22:30

@TheMagicTorch sorry this month wasn't the one - def keep at it though. Just got bfn but 7dpo and I did it in evening (although I hadn't peed in hours and hours so I think good as fmu!) will try and last until Wednesday now, but I feel like now I've popped I can't stop! 🤣

winterwarmers · 16/07/2018 04:59

i am really not sure what is going on my temp has dipped so much

JustLikeTheySaid · 16/07/2018 06:55

A negative test for me this morning which I was expecting but am still upset about anyway :(

NoseringGirl · 16/07/2018 07:27

@winterwarmers sometimes you can get a dip in the LP because of hormones fluctuations and it's sometimes associated with implantation (I have a 2 day dip when I was pregnant with DS2). It might be a bit early for that but it's a good sign for you!

@JustLikeTheySaid sorry for the BFN 😢

I got excited this morning when FF said that my pattern was triphasic. I've never had that before! BFN on the FRER though. I'm 10DPO and AF is due tomorrow so losing hope a bit.

winterwarmers · 16/07/2018 08:09

just ordered some frer on amazon Af is due saturday so i think i am going to test then.

I have some cheapies incase i cave and need to rest earlier

Firsttimer16 · 16/07/2018 08:19

I don't temp at all at the moment (partly as I'm worried I won't do it properly and it'll stress me out more with no clear pattern) but think next month is the time to start if no bfp this cycle. (Bfn 8dpo today).
@winterwarmers @NoseringGirl which thermometers do you have? Any recommendations?

OP posts:
NoseringGirl · 16/07/2018 08:30

@Firsttimer16 I use an Ava bracelet now but I started off with a 'babymad' bbt thermometer from Amazon. I also had a femometer for a while (the bluetooth one). The babymad one is a good place to start as it's cheap and does the job.

Beaglemum93 · 16/07/2018 08:40

Sorry for the BFN @JustLikeTheySaid :( when is AF due?
