One Step bad batch?

Just in case anyone has bought the pack of 25 from Amazon recently, I'd advise caution. I've attached a picture which shows what I mean.

The bottom test is from the pack of 25. The one above is a One Step, slightly thicker, that came with my FRER. All done with same urine.

I had been getting such faint lines on the One Steps from the bulk pack was panicking I was having a CP. But I think there's something up with this batch of tests. I'm going to email Amazon about it too as I wonder if they are a fake batch or something. Just a PSA if anyone is using these and worrying about faint lines or non-progression.

How annoying! I'm glad things are looking good for you though and congratulations! Do you by any chance have the batch number? (Should be printed on the back of the packet)

Celebelly · 02/06/2018 12:25

Yes, it's 20171126. Very annoying!

Yeah, I had a few from the bad batch.

Last year there was a bad batch of frer that gave awful evaps and dye run. Happens to all tests occasionally. Clear blue normal is just permanently bad Grin

leanne9312 · 02/06/2018 20:43

I had a dodgy batch a while back too

Interesting all of mine are that size Hmm will check the number on the back, thank you Flowers

HidCat · 02/06/2018 23:42

@leanne9312 mine are that batch too. Was it the same fault on yours?

DartmoorDoughnut · 03/06/2018 07:00

Mine are the same batch Angry

On the plus side maybe I am pregnant not having a CP

HidCat · 03/06/2018 07:37

@DartmoorDoughnut definitely worth trying a different test.

leanne9312 · 03/06/2018 07:39

@HidCat I kept testing and got such a faint shadow I had to use tools to see it lol then using the same urine I did a cbd and it came up pregnant 1-2 weeks.
I think it was mostly the sensitivity being lied about because they definitely weren't 10miu !!

They age the worst! I barely had any colour but tested clear as day on frer and pos on a digi too... is there any other cheap low miu we could use

lolacola13 · 03/06/2018 07:49

HidCat · 03/06/2018 07:49

@leanne9312 wow those are so faint Is probably have binned them! Congratulations by the way. Will probably pee my way through the ones I have left (to scratch the itch at least) and if my period is late or I get a faint line I'll try a different test. Thanks for the heads up! And thanks to @Celebelly for starting this thread too!

DartmoorDoughnut · 03/06/2018 07:51

I’ll wait a couple of days until I do another FRER @HidCat but yes this post gives me hope!

This mornings IC of the aforementioned batch is just as faint as ever 🙄

@HidCat no prob and good luck x

HidCat · 03/06/2018 08:23

@DartmoorDoughnut keeping everything crossed that your FRER shows a stronger line than yesterday's.

Celebelly · 03/06/2018 09:08

Fingers crossed for you ladies!

I'm not going to buy those thin ones again. The thick ones seem much more sensitive. I also have some Cassanovum cheapies that work really well too, so they might be worth a look.

I've finally started getting more visible lines on the thins, but my HCG must be over 150 mlu as I got 2-3 weeks on the digital and that's the threshold for that, so they are still incredibly faint given they are meant to be 10 mIu!

Oh I've got these too! Luckily not many, I'll order different ones. Thanks OP x

MissJones14 · 04/06/2018 18:40

Guess who's off pregnant test shopping tonight after this post 😂🙋🏽‍♀️

MissJones14 · 04/06/2018 18:40

ColonelCakes · 04/06/2018 18:48

I’ve got the same batch! What should I replace them with? I did notice that they looked partially activated before you weed on them (the foam bit?)

Celebelly · 04/06/2018 19:25

I like the Cassanovum strips but they are a bit more pricey (25 for a fiver I think). The thicker One Steps seem to be OK (and it might just be this batch that's bad). I'm getting lines on the thins finally now but still pretty faint given my dpo and what my HcG levels must be, and really faint compared to the Cassanovum cheapies.
