CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Owlpatrol just so you didn't feel crazy I did mine and it's Valentine's Day. Doing that also ensures my FP starts today so thank you 😆

OrcinusOrca · 12/06/2018 19:49

@Countrygirl94 same here, got married nearly 2 years ago. Feel like I'm barren

@FairyAnn sorry to hear you've got to wait even longer, do you know why it's been pushed back?

@Owlpatrol do you want to rant about work? I have caused a bit of a shit storm my standing up for myself and so it's been a horrid last week or so at work for me, hoping it is a bit resolved by the end of the week as I'm on annual leave next week and won't be able to get it out of my head otherwise. Nothing worse than feeling trapped if you can't do anything, hope it improves soon. I totally check what my due date would be all the time!

@nearlysummer2018 I'd count you as late from CD27! Smile

I've got myself some acne cream from the GP, hoping that helps. I think I am spotting too, 7DPO Sad the tiniest tiniest tinge of light brown twice today when I've gone to the loo. Hoped the B6 would stop it. My misery is starting! Felt really sluggish and rubbish today but way too soon for symptoms so maybe I'm coming on early. My due date from now would be five years to the day from the due date of the pregnancy I terminated too. Even more haunting struggling TTC. Damn brain!

FairyAnn · 12/06/2018 20:13

Thanks @OrcinusOrca, no explanation. Just got a letter saying 'unforeseen circumstances'. 😑

OrcinusOrca · 12/06/2018 21:35

@FairyAnn urgh! I hope it comes around quickly for you and that you get some helpful results Thanks

FairyAnn · 12/06/2018 21:38

Thank you 😊

OrcinusOrca · 12/06/2018 23:18

Feeling sooooo rubbish. Just DTD and wow I've never seen so much brown blood. I'm convinced I'm broken. Why is every cycle so problem ridden but in a different way 😭 I'm convinced I'm for the knackers yard, I can't take this. Not sure I want an ultrasound to be told my body is failing because I can tell that from periods alone. Only 7DPO. Periods were so awful after the termination I feel like it's that that did it. Can't help but wallow right now.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/06/2018 23:57

@Owlpatrol. Everyone does the due date check lol. Tell your DH from me that my DH has a child (with me) and gotten me pregnant before and he only has 3% normal sperm!

FairyAnn · 13/06/2018 06:04

Sorry to hear that @OrcinusOrca, sounds awful. Tests can be terrifying but are least you can get to the bottom of things and remove that uncertainty. Might not end up being as bad as you expected

nearlysummer2018 · 13/06/2018 08:27

Cd27 today. It's 1 day over for recent cycles but my previous cycles when I had loads of endo could be 30-40-50 days long or 16 days! My clearblue advanced fertility monitor says tomorrow I'm due FP but I have in and tested. It's a BFN so given it's digital that's pretty conclusive that I'm out again 😕 stupid 97% freak sperm!

Rubberduckies · 13/06/2018 09:26

I'm feeling much better about it all the the moment - I think I've resigned myself to IVF so I'm a bit more accepting of it! I do want to give it a bit longer and maybe wait for an nhs cycle rather than go for private right now - just because it's so expensive and the drugs are a lot to put my body through so want to give our bodies a bit of extra time to try....

Dh on the other hand is really struggling with feeling at fault and inadequate. I'm not sure that mentally he will be able to keep trying naturally for that much longer - sex is so much of a mission now because he starts thinking about it.....I think he'd prefer just to get going with ivf but he does understand my reluctance.

We think we'll just review it every few months and see how it goes .... God it's all so shit!!

SparkwoodAnd21 · 13/06/2018 09:32

Baby bomber friend came round last night. He’s so happy about it and of course I’m happy for him, but it made me so sad too. It was really hard not to cry when he was talking about it. And there was a second baby bomb yesterday, they are both due on the same day. Uuurrrrrggghhhhhh. Sorry to everyone else having a rough time too, it’s a bag of shite, isn’t it?

Mellp · 13/06/2018 09:54

@SparkwoodAnd21 I know exactly how you feel!!

We got baby bombed yesterday. DHs brother and his 18 year old girlfriend are expecting. They have been together 4 months. Neither have a job and both living with their parents. It's just so unfair. How can it be so easy for some yet we're all going through this awful torment? Really struggling today.

nearlysummer2018 · 13/06/2018 10:00

@Mellp my dad and his 24yr old girlfriend are having a baby and that hurts! Not sure if it's because I'm 12yrs older than her and I think it's gross or because even my 64yr old father is impregnating women and my 38yr old husband isn't!

Mellp · 13/06/2018 10:11

@nearlysummer2018 wow that must be hard. I can't imagine how that must make you feel! I must admit, when my DH told me about his brother last night I laughed, hysterically. I guess it's the old 'if you don't laugh, you'll cry.' This is all just so unfair! I really hope you get your BFP soon

nearlysummer2018 · 13/06/2018 10:50

@Mellp hope yours comes soon too. I'm cd 27 but my digital said BFN this morning and they're meant to be super accurate so I'm out again I expect. Hopefully doing a hpt means my fp will
Start now 😆

Countrygirl94 · 13/06/2018 11:03

@nearlysummer2018 I can't imagine receiving that baby bomb. Think I'd have a hard time being around them.

can I ask you ladies when you went to the doctors, I know the advice is a year. That seems a long way off and if there is a problem I'd rather find out now but I'm frightened they'll just brush me off also don't know what to ask.

nearlysummer2018 · 13/06/2018 11:19

@Countrygirl94 we started ttc March 2015 and I went to the dr in January 2016. Had my 1st appointment with the consultant for discussing the issue in October 2016, tests ordered and second appointment in July 2017. Surgery April 2018 (although was scheduled for January 2019 but got a cancellation because I annoyed them by ringing every week) and my next appointment is July 2018. We've been ttc just over three years and it seems it's a slow process j less you can afford to go private. We have a dc already though so are very low priority

Mellp · 13/06/2018 11:35

@nearlysummer2018 sorry about the bfn. Hopefully fp will come soon so you can crack on with the next cycle.

@Countrygirl94 we went to the gp after 12 months of trying in February. We already have DC so GP will only carry out initial test. DH had a SA which came back normal, after being done twice. I had day 21 bloods which was badly timed so having to redo them next week, and I believe he wants me to have another blood test once I have the results of the day 21. So it's happened fairly quickly for us. I guess it depends on your local gp

nearlysummer2018 · 13/06/2018 11:41

Well FP has shown up at one day late. I wish there was a way to improve morphology from 3% but I think we are destined to never have a chance again.

Countrygirl94 · 13/06/2018 12:13

@nearlysummer2018 that seems such a long time to have waited. I'm glad you managed to annoy them to get surgery quicker. Sorry fp has arrived but at least you can get on with the next cycle.

@Mellp sorry if I sound totally stupid but 21 day bloods is that cycle day 21? And what does that look for? Getting DH to agree to get a SA may be more difficult.

Mellp · 13/06/2018 12:36

@Countrygirl94 day 21 bloods check to see if you have ovulated (can't remember the name of the hormone it detects). You have it done on day 21 based on a 28 day cycle, so basically a week before period. I have slightly irregular cycles though, so last time it ended up being 2 weeks before period started, therefore I need to repeat it and just hope the timings better!

SoozC · 13/06/2018 12:47

Day 21 blood check progesterone as it rises after ov. Ideally done a week after ov but I have them done on CD 20, 22 and 24 to catch it properly.

Nearly, DH's SA came back showing about 3% morphology and we managed to get lucky. So it doesn't necessarily mean no conception. Fx for you.

Owlpatrol · 13/06/2018 13:00

@SoozC oooh that's good to hear

Baby bombs galore! Bog off!

I feel so un pregnant today I'm trying to deny my mild cramps starting and my headache I've had plus insomnia last night. Everything pointing to af next week. I've also dried up early down there which isn't a good sign.

Countrygirl94 · 13/06/2018 13:36

@mellp @soozC Thank you for explaining.

OrcinusOrca · 13/06/2018 14:01

@Countrygirl94 If you tell your GP you have been trying a year they can't realistically verify if it is a year/10 month's etc. My GP told me to say we have been TTC one year if anyone asks and referred me sooner Blush
