CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind if I join? I'm 34, ttc #1 for 9 months/11 cycles. Feeling pretty fed up & depressed tbh. It is heartening though to hear about other's journeys through this and seeing some pretty pics of chooks. I'm currently craving booze and carbs... i blame pms and impending FP. Have just baked a batch of muffins.

Owlpatrol · 07/06/2018 19:46

@Booksandbaths1 welcome hugs!

Saw grand total of 4 pregnant women after work dp thought I was overacting and we spoke last night and hes still like "what will be will be" I have no idea how he keeps that attitude!!!

I think I ovulated yesterday or maybe today so bring on the tww managed twice this fw so optimistic as ever until next week!

Owlpatrol · 07/06/2018 19:48

@LookingAtTheStars89 sorry for the late reply that's ace about that book!

I'm ov day today or yesterday and I have an earache...im pregnant right? 😂

Seen a few of my friends get positives this month I'm so hoping it's my month too!

Booksandbaths1 · 07/06/2018 20:06

Thanks @owlpatrol I feel ya re all the pregnant ladies. Last weekend 2 friends called me within hours of each other to tell me their happy news. Oh and I've just been made redundant... so feeling somewhat crapper than usual. Ho hum, someone pass me a muffin and a glass of wine 😀

OrcinusOrca · 07/06/2018 20:12

Welcome @Booksandbaths1 what muffins have you baked? I would kill for a muffin right now. Am eating so much sugar and rubbish at the mo!

Booksandbaths1 · 07/06/2018 20:23

Thank you @orcinusorca they are banana, cinnamon and maple. Made with wholemeal flour to make them "healthy" ha. I see you're taking b vits to try and lengthen luteal phase. Mine varies from 9-11 days but with spotting... be interested to hear if you find the b vits help yours. I've just had my progesterone retaken at 8dpo to see where it's at.

Chooklass · 07/06/2018 21:09

Welcome @Booksandbaths1 !

I've not coped very well with FP this cycle ... ate a cheesecake for dinner after being low sugar for ages. Feel sick now!

peachesarenom · 07/06/2018 21:14

Oh thanks! I'll have a look now!ronswansonstache

Booksandbaths1 · 07/06/2018 21:20

@Chooklass I've got a chocolate eclair in the fridge that is calling to me 😀

Owlpatrol · 07/06/2018 22:48

@Booksandbaths1 ooh yum! I spotted last cycle day 24-28 was v depressing but bloods all came back fine this week....only on ovulation day I think or 1dpo currently

SparkwoodAnd21 · 08/06/2018 08:43

FP due today. No sign of it yet but did an IC this morning and it said ‘lol no, like fuck are you pregnant you barren old hag’ or something along those lines so now I’m sad. I’m 41 now, I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up. Now I’ve got to go and be nice to children and parents, one of whom asked yesterday if I’m planning on another child. I waved my cobwebby uterus at her and ate two biscuits. ☹️☹️☹️

OrcinusOrca · 08/06/2018 08:43

@Booksandbaths1 they sound yummy! Did you find the recipe online? Tempted to bake some myself if I can pretend they're not tooooooooo bad for me Wink definitely hoping the B6 helps, it is my current straw of choice to clutch haha. Given weird cycles lately I don't really know when FP is due, but if I can get to 10DPO with no spotting I'll class it as a win I think. 3DPO now.

Tentatively, I THINK my hormonal acne is a bit calmer this month. It kicked off before O but right now I only have one spot brewing into a nasty big beast and the rest are all starting to heal. Hoping no more will appear. I am also insanely cheery today because Fertility Friend has given me solid red lines for O, last month I only got dashed ones. Am obviously still obsessing about the fact my BBT rise is more like 0.3C higher than base line and not higher though, they say it should be at least 0.5 higher I think.

Does anyone else do BBT/FF?

bridget33 · 08/06/2018 09:16

@SparkwoodAnd21 "cobwebby uterus" made me 🤣 sorry about the bfn - it never gets easier to see it. I am currently resisting taking a test. FP is due on Sunday and I've been having cramps so am just going to wait for it to show its unwelcome face. We have a wedding on Sunday as well so at least I'll have something to distract me. If I can resist, this will be the first month I've not taken a test which I feel may be a little bit of progress as I'm so obsessed about it all. We get DH's second SA results back today as well - I have a feeling they may be abnormal but we'll see.

Booksandbaths1 · 08/06/2018 09:48

@orcinusorca yes the recipe is from cookieandkate I think. They tasted pretty yum. Oh man yes hormonal acne is the pits. My skin is awful at the mo - I seem to leap from pms spots to ovulation break out and back. I tried FF/BBT but it was like rocket fuel for this already v up and down emotional rollercoaster so I stopped. Fingers crossed for the b6! Maybe I'll try it as my next straw.
@bridget33 Hoping your dh's tests come back ok. Enjoy the wedding to the max! I prefer not to test if I can manage but it's soo hard not to. Good luck.
@Sparkwoodand21 I'm sorry, those negatives are a bitch. As are folk's questions about kids. I fully understand wanting to call it a day but also wanting to keep the hope going. Be kind to yourself and enjoy those biccies (or something better).

OrcinusOrca · 08/06/2018 16:14

@Booksandbaths1 I can understand that. This is why I don't own any pregnancy tests any more. Tell myself I won't test early and I do and get pissed off faster! I have convinced myself it's sensible to BBT for a bit just to check things are normal Hmm but it has definitely opened a can of worms!

LimpLettice · 08/06/2018 16:37

Is Bubblegum still about? If you are I know you've put a hold on ttc for a bit if you are but I'm wondering how you're doing otherwise?

Rubberduckies · 09/06/2018 06:57

Any experience with antisperm antibodies? Dh's sperm analysis showed 70% antibodies :(

We hadn't done much reading up before and so didn't ask the right questions I don't think.... from what I've read, 70% makes natural conception very unlikely?

The Dr told us to keep trying naturally for another 8-10 months and then have icsi if not pregnant. Not sure if this is just wasting time and delaying the inevitable.....

HidCat · 09/06/2018 07:33

@Rubberduckies no experience here so googled. On the info that showed I'd agree with you as the chances are reduced and you've been trying so long anyway. Why waste time? Are you on the nhs or private?

Rubberduckies · 09/06/2018 08:19

Still of waiting list to be seen initially on nhs, and our ccg will offer 1 cycle after 2years of trying, which will be next April.

Yesterday we paid and could go for private treatment going forward.

It feels like giving up. Spending 6 grand to buy a chance of a baby when there's a possibly of natural pregnancy seems daft! But me writing that is even dafter lol! And to think I refused to start ttc before we got married in case I got pregnant and couldn't fit in my dress... Hmm

Owlpatrol · 09/06/2018 08:37

@Rubberduckies I'm on the same boat hun except we don't qualify for IVF so we will have to start saving for private but yet we could fall naturally anyway! It's so annoying! Dp hasn't had sperm analysis yet because he's chicken and has already had two children from previous....so I have to keep nudging him

HidCat · 09/06/2018 14:45

@Rubberduckies might be worth having your results sent over to your doc. They may be able to speed up the nhs referral if they know the causes in advance.

Happy world gin day yammers!

The Good, The Bad and The Yams!
Booksandbaths1 · 09/06/2018 21:39

Ah yes! Enjoy. Gin, gin, gin makes me grin 😀 I'm feeling hacked off as my already pretty short cycle was 23 days this month (surely not good?). FP arrived today so I've enjoyed a g&t, glass of pinot and a dessert wine with my dins. For a few months I got my booze intake down to 1-2 drinks per week max. But for f all results. Do you lovely yammers think less is better? Any personal advice?

Bubblegum89 · 10/06/2018 09:33

Hey Limp I’m still about :) not ttc anymore, kind of decided that maybe it just wasn’t meant to be so we’re just getting on with our lives now and enjoying what we already have. I don’t think we’re going to be trying IVF after all. I’ve felt much more human since stopping ttc and I don’t think I’m up for going back to being crazy and obsessive! How are things going with you?

Hi to all the other yammers as well. I hope you’re all doing well and aren’t symptom spotting too much! Although I’m not trying for a baby anymore, I still pop in now and again to see how you’re all getting on. Fingers crossed I see the thread die out because you all get your bfp’s :)

LexieJean · 10/06/2018 10:30

Hi @bubble 👋 good to hear your feeling better mentally, sounds like you’re in a good place. Wishing you all the best 💐
