CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

That’s true @HidCat. I just wanted more raw emotion!! 😂

Hardws02 · 06/06/2018 20:04

Just found this thread. FP. That made me laugh. Think I'll get on with you ladies just fine! 11dpo. First normal cycle since third miscarriage. Gone from desperately wanting period to come, to having everything crossed it doesn't. 2WW sucks.

HidCat · 06/06/2018 20:51

@Hardws02 I'm sorry for your losses. Fingers crossed for no FP!

peachesarenom · 06/06/2018 21:05

Hi everyone,

I'm not a yammer or past yammer but I just did a search for a mate and it seems she was bring trolled on the conception board, someone recommended you guys to her, have any of you seen physicskate? I hope she hasn't left mumsnet!

HidCat · 06/06/2018 21:20

@peachesarenom I'm sure I saw her name pop up earlier today but I can't remember what it was on or how old. Sorry I can't be more help but I definitely recognise her name from something I've read recently.

peachesarenom · 06/06/2018 21:22

Thank you HidCat I'll keep an eye out!

Chooklass · 06/06/2018 21:41

Hi @peachesarenom - I've seen her post recently too, but also not sure where. She's definitely much quieter since then so hope she's okay. I've learned a lot from her helpful and knowledgeable posts.

Welcome to the yammers @Hardws02 - sounds like you've been having a tough time.

FP arrived for me today, so Monday's super faint line was definitely false. Period much clottier than normal so wonder if it was a chem? Think I'd rather not know tbh! Might also be because of hysteroscopy earlier in cycle? Can't believe I'm still trying to understand my body 😂

peachesarenom · 06/06/2018 21:43

Thank you Chooklass she's a real sweetheart, going through a tough time, I'm sad she's had to deal with this too.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 06/06/2018 23:48

@Chooklass. Sorry about FP Flowers I can't remember if asked you or not the other day but does your DH take any vitamins?

Oh ha ha before I forget, my DD (5) bought home a reading book call "Give me my yam" 😂😂😂 She thought I was nuts when I started laughing.

@LookingAtTheStars89 He's been taking Boots conception vits for a few months. He got another SA recently but he hasn't chased results yet (aargh) so not sure if it's made a difference yet. Did your DH take any?

Chooklass · 07/06/2018 06:19

Lol at 'Give me my yam' book! 😂

HidCat · 07/06/2018 07:02

@LookingAtTheStars89 that's brilliant 😆

Rubberduckies · 07/06/2018 07:54

Bit late checking in for the new thread..... we're on cycle 14 trying for our first. Husbands sperm isn't great but we did manage to double his motility and sperm count with some internet research and a variety of supplements!

Tomorrow we have a private fertility assessment because we're getting stressed not being able to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about! So another SA for him, and a Hycosy for me and then chat it over with the consultant. Hoping a spring clean of my tubes is all we need..!

Mellp · 07/06/2018 08:05

Hi everyone. After some advice really. DH had his results from his SA yesterday. Receptionist just told him it had been stamped 'normal' however she said it needed re-testing (she didn't know why). This was his 2nd test as he had to re do the first one as he didn't store it properly. Is this common practice or should I not get my hopes up about the 'normal' result? Thanks

LexieJean · 07/06/2018 08:18

Sounds like a great book @looking 😂

HidCat · 07/06/2018 08:27

@Rubberduckies that sounds like you're making positive steps. I hope the next SA shows continued improvement for you.

@Mellp normal sounds pretty good to me, maybe they just want to double check to look for changes?

Rubberduckies · 07/06/2018 08:45

@Mellp can you speak to a Gp or someone at the lab to ask? It might have been normal but borderline, or it might just be normal practice. We found that our practice were happy to provide a print out of the SA and then we could research the numbers ourselves

Mellp · 07/06/2018 08:51

@HidCat thanks

@Rubberduckies the GP wasn't in yesterday so should be calling DH tomorrow, so hopefully he can give a little more insight. I'm just impatient and want answers now! Feel like we've been waiting on these results for months!

Rubberduckies · 07/06/2018 09:17

That's good. Just a be aware that not all Gps fully understand all the SA results. Ours was really unhelpful and it was very upsetting until DH spoke to a lab technician who explained it all properly and was much more reassuring, and gave us some advice. I don't think the lab could talk about specific peoples results - but I think Dh said something like if a sperm count was xxxx number - what does that actually mean because the Gp didn't seem to know, and they were so helpful! Fingers crossed you get the answers you want tomorrow!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 07/06/2018 09:36

@Chooklass. He's taking Wellman Conception Vitamins. I have read quite a few good reviews from guys about them. DH has been taking them since late March. He also switched from briefs to boxers a little while ago too and cut out caffeine/booze. I don't know what, if anything made a difference but anything's worth a try!

Chooklass · 07/06/2018 10:29

@LookingAtTheStars89 My DH is really fit & healthy, rarely drinks etc so it's difficult to know what else to do! Hoping the vits work. Next step is a hycosy for me which I'm dreading! I found the hysteroscopy excruciating.

Mellp · 07/06/2018 11:35

@Rubberduckies thank you so much for the advice. I'll see what the GP says tomorrow, then maybe get DH to talk to the lab if it's still no clearer. Then I'll have to start looking at getting myself some tests done.

Pinkemi · 07/06/2018 13:50

@OrcinusOrca no.. my periods have been pretty regular over the years.. sometimes a bit late and sometimes 1 or 2 days early.. never 5! I have about 2 stone to lose to get my BMI under 30.. about 4 if i was going to be healthy BMI range.

@LexieJean I'll think about it.. Part of me is on board with it.. but another part of me is still screaming.. "no.. there is still a chance!"

ronswansonstache · 07/06/2018 14:51

@peachesarenom - I've seen Kate on the recent 'fed up' thread on the conception board. For some reason, I was drawn to the title of that thread!
