CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

• Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day

• Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

• Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

• Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

• Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

• Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

• Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

• Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

Also welcome @maddiie I well know the feelings you're having just now. I found it really tough when a close friend who'd been ttc at the same time us dh and I got her bfp. She said things to be kind but it often made me feel angry and upset. Which then made me feel like a crap friend. As the others said, join us in our yamtastic chat. It truly helps x

@BGDino haaa loving those texts. Think you should go for one of the last two 😂 How do you take the letrozole - injection? I can well imagine it is difficult to not think about the meds and what they're doing. That massage sounds fab though.

My sister told me earlier that she is pregnant. She's always been very vocal about how she doesn't want children. She's not keeping it. I feel like utter shite. How was your Friday?

Oh @maddiie that must be so so hard for you to hear. Does your sister know what's going on with you? How are you feeling about it?
I went to a friends for dinner this eve. Their daughter is adorable and both dh and I said so on the way home. Then I completely welled up and just felt really sad. Gotta keep the faith that we'll get there one day.

It’s turning into a bit of a mantra for me atm but a yammer (soz cant recall which one of you!) shared these wise words: other people getting pregnant does not affect your chances of getting pg. I’m trying to remain self-focused and not get consumed by jealousy. Trying.

I get that @books Me and OH commenting that we like a particular name from tv the other night had my tears brimming.

OI update, we had sex Thursday, Friday, Saturday after the phone call on Thursday afternoon. Hit a new low tonight as I’m too depressed to want to have sex and so naturally hubby couldn’t perform as $&#%ing someone who’s not into it is super unsexy. Ended up with him masturbating into a cup and us pouring it into me with a funnel... two doctor household and not a single syringe in the place. Hubby is working evening overtime tomorrow and Tuesday night so that’s probably it for us this cycle as my progesterone test is Wednesday. Have we done enough this cycle to even have a chance?

Well @dino that all sounds suitably romantic for TTC. Have totally been there with lack of performance. If I say there’s always a chance will you screw yourself into knots for the next 2 weeks? (No pun intended) 🤞 for funnel conception for you.

Yammers, I've been a sht friend, sorry. We've managed twice this fw but due 19th and already got af symptoms already and so feel like I'm out. Today I've been in the worst mood and I'm meant to be on holiday! @BGDino* that sounds like a plan and I've been there trust me. One of the deeds this month I needed a wee shortly after and it started creeping down sorry tmi, so caught some and attempted a leg up mannuveur in the toilet. Needless to say I felt like a desperate woman.
Have also been highly peed off at pregnant women and all women with a toddler or buggy in tow the past few days, bitterness and green eyed monsterness doesn't even describe it! Sorry for ranting yammers, shall I put the kettle on or just grab the gin?

@Owlpatrol both methinks, with a healthy side of chocolate. @Books forgot to answer your question, letrozole is just tablets thankfully no needles. @LexieJean neither of us could actually believe we were doing that... also that’s the funnel I normally use to make apple pie flavoured vodka needless to say I won’t be anymore Never thought that TTC + OI would affect my mental health so much. Too depressed to be at work today.

@BGDino I got an awful explosive tummy bug on ov day last week and we did discuss a similar method in order to save DH's health but not waste ov day!! Didn't in end as I just felt too crap to even think about it. Now I don't even know if I will have ovulated when expected so this cycle is all up in the air.

I was feeling better yesterday and DH said 'is it too late for us to have sex now?' Had to remind him we can have sex whenever we like, not just when I'm fertile 😂

@dino yummy flavour vodka- defo need a new funnel! Maybe that’s a suitable distraction at work, order a new funnel!

I am frantically checking my ov status, v v faint line so have lined up oh for dtd tonight. With instructions for the morning before work as well- we never have the time but we’re both all in this month. It’s going to be an exhausting week!

@maddiie wow.. i dont know what to say. That has to be really difficult to hear. (hug) I wish I could do something to help.

So.. i am peeing on sticks waiting for my FW to start. Normally would have started by now but I seem to still be getting low fertility on my sticks.. so god only knows what is going on.

IVF information evening tomorrow and I have to admit im a bit nervous. Its better to get the information so I know whats going to happen if we have to go that route.. but part of me feels like we are giving up if we do. (urgh.. I just dont know!!!)

Ive also succumbed into buying an Ava Bracelet. Cant really afford one but I put it on my credit card to worry about later... It better help. lol

Had cramps on and off all day today so fairly certain af will be showing some time later this week. Dp been really good but i keep pushing him away im trying so hard not to be a Debbie downer on holiday!

Ooh @Pinkemi ! I'm seriously considering an ava bracelet too. Bit annoyed as they seem to have gone up a lot in price since I first saw them.

@Chooklass i know right! Im sure it used to be around £100 when i saw them last. But i have been umming and arring about one for so many months now i thought screw it. Havent yet told my DH yet though...

@Pinkemi @Chooklass have to admit I thought they’d be prettier! More like a bracelet and less like a wristwatch, but hey if it works...

Went to work today. Had to get an Uber to make it there, thank god for understanding hubby. I have 2 patients to see and waiting on another from the emergency department but not sure I’ll make it to 5pm. Also thank god for understanding boss. If actually ever get pregnant, may have to name child after him.

@dino sounds like you’re having a tough couple of days. Be kind to yourself. Can you find something non TTC to think about- something positive?

@LexieJean hubby was working evening overtime tonight so ended up making Oreo cheesecake to keep my mind off TTC... and watching trashy true crime pay TV.

Ah you yammers are marvellous. I've had a busy few days but whenever I've felt upset and fed up with this ttc crap reading all your posts make me laugh and empathise and make feel better. I've had a lot of driving to do on my own so downloaded a few ivf/infertility podcasts which are a nice way to get info. I chose fairly lighthearted ones, just couples talking about their experiences, and it's helped me feel better informed but also normalises it.

@BGDino wow oreo cheesecake and apple pie flavoured voddie - I want to party with you! Though as long as you get a new funnel 😂 Keep strong my dear and keep up the good distractions. V impressed with 3 days in a row sex!!

@LexieJean I'm going to try and keep the self focus and avoid jealousy too. So hard but I'm going to try.

@pinkemi good luck with the ivf evening. I'm sure it won't be as odd as you imagine and hopefully will be helpful.

I'm awaiting fw and debating using opks or not this cycle. Might not bother. Last year I did a bulk by of internet cheapies which came with 20 free hpt. I'm down to a few opks but have masses of hpt left, god damn it 😆

@Booksandbaths1 How did you get on with OPKS? I tried and failed. My periods are incredibly irregular and cycles vary drastically, my last one was 93 days so I never know when I'm ovulating so just have to rely on having sex every other day constantly in the hope we'll catch it. Gets exhausting

@BGDino yeah the Ava Bracelet is more about tracking than the looks! Its pretty ugly looking. haha
@Booksandbaths1 what are these podcasts called? Id be interested to hear them too.

Thanks for the good luck everyone.. Still feeling nervous! haha I also seem to have this weird stomach ache all day and needing to pee a lot. :( Knowing my luck its a damn water infection! Cant be a pregnancy symptom as only just coming into FW.

God @maddie every other day for 90 odd days?! That’s stamina. I was impressed that we managed a morning quickie today in an attempt to dtd last night, this am and then same again tomorrow (opk high started last night). We never normally manage that much sex! 😂
