Can't quite believe I've just written that title...after a lot of indecision DH and I have decided to see where fate takes us. So we're not obsessively trying, but I know generally when I ovulate so we'll DTD around that time. Tbh we're still not 100% convinced we'd cope with three, but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.

I've been thinking about it constantly and our ages mean it's now or never. We adore our 2 DC's and if that's what we're meant to have we'll be very happy, but if fate has other ideas, we're up for the challenge!

About to start AF and then off we go Smile

Imagine having 2 sets! @RandomUsernameHere
Your DD and DS are at a lovely age and can at least help with bringing you nappies and wipes Smile

Bubblemumma1 · 09/09/2018 19:53

@Mamabear12 I nominate myself to be the one on this bus to get twins! Grin

Mamabear12 · 09/09/2018 20:11

@Bubblemumma1 crossing fingers for you!

Shorty82 · 10/09/2018 19:39

Hey, I would like to join you. We are trying to conceive number 3, we have a DD 11 and a DS 8. A large gap I know but we have to move house twice and it was never the right time financially. We have been trying for 18 months, with two chemical pregnancies.

Just going with the flow, but I'm 36 next month so time is ticking on.

Bubblemumma1 · 11/09/2018 00:00

Welcome @Shorty82
Lovely to have someone new joining us!
Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancies

charliehen · 13/09/2018 17:29

Hi, can I join you? We made decision to go for number 3- time it's ticking for me as I was 40 this year. I had my coil removed mid-August and had my period as usual- I've been having quite a short cycle the last few years avg 22 days.
We tried around the right time and come 22 days, no period, negative HPT. About D25 a felt a bit crampy and thought period was coming, but it didn't. Next day I felt a trickle (sorry for tmi!!!) and expected period, but nothing, not even spotting. So then I thought maybe implantation and got excited, never dreamed it would happen on first try. But Still negative HPT. So then I thought maybe my cycle is out of whack because of coil removal. It's now D28 and still no period, and yet another negative HPT.
Now I'm not sure what to think!!!!! Any advice would be gratefully received xx

BlackRibboner · 14/09/2018 09:28

charliehen It sounds like you probably ovulated later than you thought - when you say it was around the right time, was that based on cycle day or did you monitor symptoms?

charliehen · 14/09/2018 17:13

I ovulated CD16, am now CD29. Bought a first response and will try again tomorrow, won't be devastated if I'm not as I never expected to conceive quickly, just don't want to get into irregular cycles. Then I read an article that said because the coil makes your lining thinner and it's the lining that's makes HCG, I thought maybe it could take longer to register. Or maybe I'm just not pregnant! 😱

charliehen · 14/09/2018 17:16

Sorry BlackRibboner, to answer your question been tracking BBT, CM and using OPKs so fairly certain it was CD15 or 16. It's complicated, hey????
This seems like such a positive thread, nice to know there are plenty of others crazy enough to be thinking of a third!
I was reading the posts about twins- think I'm quite high risk too, my mum is a fraternal twin and I'm 40.
Only hoping for 1 more though! 🤞🏼

BlackRibboner · 14/09/2018 18:04

Very complicated! I'd say that's fairly comprehensive tracking though Grin It's only been about 13 days, so still within tolerance for a normal luteal phase (usually 12-16 days, I believe). If it gets to longer than that and still no AF and no BFP, I'd want to talk to the GP. They probably wouldn't want to talk back, but if you had definite ovulation signs and no AF or pregnancy, something's not quite right. Hope it resolves one way or the other (preferably the right way!)

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 14/09/2018 19:40

Congratulations @littletipple

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 14/09/2018 19:41

@charliehen I had the mirena for a few years (with no periods) and had it out last October. My cycles are a bit odd this year too Confused

charliehen · 14/09/2018 22:34

Fingers crossed but would be very bloody lucky first crack!
Lego interesting you had disrupted cycle too- I had Jaydess removed and Doctor was adamant there wouldn't be a change, but would have thought a high sensitivity test would have picked it up by now if I were. So probably not. But clearly going to do a FRER in morning as it's like picking a scab!!!!

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 14/09/2018 22:57

@Charliehen, I'm sure i read that the coil can disrupt your cycles but mines been out nearly a year... I'm having cycles between 24 and 32 days.
First time would be fab, good luck. I've finally used up all my sticks, I had loads from the pound shop. Least they didn't show any indents as my frer had an indent a few weeks ago. Hmm

charliehen · 15/09/2018 06:50

Well this morning I got my answer, thank you FRER!!!
Faint but definitely there! Now just praying hard that it sticks, had a few miscarriages over the years.
Thank you all for all your help!

Anyone else trying for DC3?!
BlackRibboner · 15/09/2018 07:07

Fab! Hope it's a sticky bean charliehen, wishing you a smooth pregnancy x

CD12 for me and in the horrible limbo that is waiting to ovulate. Although should probably be glad it's not imminent, baby is teething atm and up every couple of hours, so DH and I aren't getting much quality time (and are too damn knackered when we do!)

Mamabear12 · 15/09/2018 09:51

Congrats Charlie hen! Interesting you have short cycles and ovulated day 16. When I read online and do the fertility calculations online they say short cycles are supposed to ovulate earlier like day 9 or 10. My cycle is 25 days and I ovulate around day 16 as well (I think! As the only time I used strips said day 16). My concern was the short luteal phase after. Bc I read the egg needs time to travel and implant before period starts. All seems so complicated. The funny thing is I’ve got two dc straight away and suddenly I’m doing all this research and driving myself nuts thinking i can’t get pregnant and my cycle is messed up (this is my second cycle trying) and we only try once each time. I probably need to stop my google searching and start dtd more often during fertile period.

Does anyone else dtd once during fertile time and hope for the best? Or is the majority doing multiple times? My dp works long hours and isn’t always in the mood and truth be told I’m usually sleeping by time he gets home or in bed too tired.

charliehen · 15/09/2018 11:52

Mamabear yes my luteal phase averaged 10 days so I was worried about the same- I have had miscarriages though so although I'm delighted this morning I still have anxiety about it sticking- I worry my lining won't be thick enough, especially as I only had the coil removed last month!!!!! Mind you I'm sure I also read somewhere (isn't amazing how much reading you do?!) that said like the pill you can be more fertile immediately after removal as your body resets itself.
Just praying this bean sticks! X

Mamabear12 · 15/09/2018 13:29

Charliehen, crossing fingers for your little bean to stick well.

Time seems to go so slowly during the two week wait. Wish I felt more positive about things. I was back and fourth about it. But now I’m certain I want a third.

LittleTipple · 15/09/2018 15:16

@Mamabear12 more than once in the fertile week would increase your chances of conceiving quicker. However I think it is a balance, as looking back at TTC DC1 I think we were doing it far too often and weakening the sperm! DC2 three times in fertile week and pregnant first try. DC3 we DTD four times (every other night) in fertile week and boom. I'd say at least twice - maybe two days before O and day of O would be good. When we're TTC we accept there's a limited timeframe and even if we're not really in the mood, just get on with it. With this pregnancy, DH had a cold and we didn't even kiss, but I wasn't missing the fertile window!

Congratulations @charliehen wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy x

It's hard isn't it @Mamabear12 my DH also works long hours and travels a fair bit. He's been away all this week and I'm pretty sure I ov'd on Thursday.

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 15/09/2018 16:25

Congratulations @charliehen!

Bubblemumma1 · 15/09/2018 17:28

Woohoo! Congratulations charliehen!!
Praying for a sticky bean for you too!

Mamabear12 · 15/09/2018 18:26

@LittleTipple, yes I agree, I think at least more often would be better. 3 times would be great. I will aim for that next month if it does not work this month. I am still hoping we will get lucky. I was thinking that about the sperm quality, as the first two kids we literally tried once both times and got lucky. I thought to myself it must be all that sperm saved up! This time around I am worried as I am not as confident when I ovulate as my cycles changed. I used to be clock work 28 days. Now I am 24-25 days and spot a couple days before my period. I will know in a week, as my period is due then.

charliehen · 18/09/2018 18:55

Just an update for you, lost the bean this morning. Not overly surprised- I seem to be able to get pregnant but staying pregnant is harder. Think will take a couple months off then try again, hoping when I come back in November there are lots more BFPs here. Lots of baby dust to you all xx
