How do people know when they ovulate?!

Hi all, just wondering how you know which day you ovulate?! I have a rough idea from Ewm and + ovulation tests but I'm not sure how you pin point it down to a day?! Am I missing a trick?

Mittelschmerz. Bloody agony.

Temping. It doesn't predict but it confirms you have ovulated and you can tell what day you ovulated on retroactively.

Alot of people use OPKs which measure the hormones produced when you are about to ovulate, it doesn't guarantee ovulation but it shows your body is gearing up for it. I used opks (from Amazon called one step ovulation) cheap and cheerful depending how long your cycle depends when you need to start testing (longer cycles later ovulation) they show 2 lines and when the test line is darker than the control you should ovulate within the next 36hours and if you check ewcm you can pinpoint very accurately. Goodluck!!

Used OPK’s to show when I was getting close.
Did the temping all the way through the cycle to show the temperature shift after ovulation.
And checked CM.

It totally does work as I know I ovulated on the 5th April and baby is measuring exactly to the dates. X

Opks and temping

It feels like someone is punching me. I can also identify which side I've ovulated from. It's always been like this, from when I was a teenager.

I get a stabbing pain.

TMI but I get discharge, pain and a desire to eat the entire house.

I don’t get period pain but I do get ovulation pain. I know exactly when each month.

Pain, bloating, feel extra randy, cervical mucus changes - no mistaking it for me!

I can tell, and which side. (Male) Dr said it was impossible 🙄

Pain, on whichever side, plus javelin arse and pain/dragging feeling in my undercarriage. Lasts about 24 hours. It's miserable.

Awful trapped wind and pain. I can tell when and which side (had it confirmed for a few months during fertility investigations).

I used clear blue digital tests. Turned out I ovulate later than I thought!

Wow thanks for all the replies. So this cycle I had ewm starting from day 10 and finishing on day 15. The closest I got to a postive opk was day 11 (by day 12 there was one line again). I never get any pain or cramps and I have high sex drive the whole week so I have no idea how to pin point it to one day! I'd like to work out my luteal phase so would be helpful to know day of ovulation! What would you think the day would be?!

I would say try the temping If you don’t get any specific pain like a lot of us women do.
Also, OPK’s can indicate the LH surge before you ovulate but they don’t tell you if you actually have ovulated.
Temping does because of the temp shift after OV.

Thanks MagicalCreatures I will download that app and give it a go I use clue and flo but they both predict differently even tho I enter the same data and I'm none the wiser!

How many times a day are you testing? I do three times a day from cd9-12

I'm on the clear blue trial so I have their ovulation product at the mo, but ive never had peak fertility on that.
Before the study I was using the cheap ones, tested twice a day and ive only ever once caught the postive and that was really late at night.
Ive now gone to the old fashioned way of sex sex sex and hope for the best

The sudden desire to have sex with pretty much anyone with a pulse and a sharp stabbing pain in the lower abdomen, followed by bloating and an almost insatiable appetite until rag week are pretty clear indicators for me

I don't get any ovulation pain but I have lots of EWCM for about 5 days. So you ovulate on the last day of EWCM?
