Did a digital pregnancy test today, Asda's own, and it comes with 2 tests that you click into the reader which says yes or no. I did the first one and it said "yes" so to confirm I did the second one which came back as "no". Do you think I'm pregnant? Hmm

How awful! I wonder if one is more sensitive the the other somehow? They say you can't get a false positive? Try another test tomorrow morning with a frer? Good luck xx

Celebelly · 22/05/2018 21:32

Was it with the same urine?

Zeze247 · 22/05/2018 21:33

Test first thing tomorrow morning

littleneepo · 22/05/2018 21:35

In early pregnancy your pee gets more concentrated the longer it’s in your bladder which is why they normally say to test first thing in the morning. If you did another wee to test again that’s why it might have been negative, or the test stick was faulty.
False positives are pretty rare I believe, test again in the morning would be my advice

louloux · 22/05/2018 21:38

I've read on another thread earlier today that apparently digital tests can be faulty, I really do hope that it's true that you can't get a false positive. I've bought a frer test to do first thing in the morning.

No, it was different urine. About 1 hour apart.

Oh then your second urine probably just wasn't concentrated enough after such a short time. I'd believe the positive!

KimRobs87 · 22/05/2018 21:40

Hopefully that's it! Fingers crossed for tomorrow x

louloux · 22/05/2018 21:41

My partner said the same thing. I really hope that this is the case Smile thank you all for replying, i will post the result in the morning!

Retest in morning but I think it's because you've done them so close together. A held wee is so much stronger and more concentrated and has more hcg in it where as your one hour hold would be very diluted xx

KimRobs87 · 22/05/2018 21:47

Please do - good luck xx

louloux · 22/05/2018 21:48

Eeek I'm so excited now I've had a glimmer of hope Grin I will be devastated if it comes back negative in the morning Sad 7 months it has taken to get a positive result!

OP posts:
littleneepo · 22/05/2018 22:52

Will be keeping fingers crossed for you!

Wellthisunexpected · 23/05/2018 06:28

Just retest today. 1 hour isn't enough time to get a positive response so early on.

Rose2887 · 23/05/2018 06:54

Good luck xx

MrsLCW · 23/05/2018 07:10

Good luck this morning!! X

unicorncow · 23/05/2018 08:28

Good luck this morning!

louloux · 23/05/2018 09:02

I messed the test up, I got the window wet and it turned purple from the dye Angry got myself a docs appointment for 3pm today, managed to save some of my urine in a tube from first thing so I'm going to take that in, hopefully they will do a frer and a blood test. Thanks for all the good luck messages x

The doctors won't do a FRER or a blood test! They'll just use the dip test, same as the cheapy ones you can buy in Savers or B&M Confused

Snipples · 23/05/2018 09:18

Pop to the chemist op and buy a double pack of frers and then gently dip it in the wee and wait. The docs tests aren't as sensitive and they def won't do a blood test.

louloux · 23/05/2018 09:36

Oh I thought they'd do a blood test to be positive! Is there any point in me going then Confused

OP posts:
Waitingonasmiley42 · 23/05/2018 09:44

No! Just buy your own frer.

Good luck

xLeanne128 · 23/05/2018 10:11

No point in going to doctors it's a waste of an appointment to be honest they don't wana see proof when you tell them your pregnant and their tests wouldn't pick it up so early! Buy a test and hold your urine for 4hours and test xx

SoyDora · 23/05/2018 10:13

Absolutely no point going to the Dr, they’ll just do their own dip test which is less sensitive than an FRER.

SoyDora · 23/05/2018 10:13

GP’s don’t confirm pregnancy, they take your word for it based on a positive test

littleneepo · 23/05/2018 10:40

Yup I agree - no one at the docs or even the midwife confirms your pregnancy until the 12 week scan I’ve found! They just take your word for it!
