[... Insert jazzier title here!]

The bus is still running, we're sick of bastard bfns, and crossing fingers (and some) for Feb 2019 babies. Come join!

I'm 35 yo
DD is 3yo
Cycle 25 (urgh!!)
Af/bfp due 18th June

After a few months charting and opk-ing, I've decided to chuck it all out and try and dtd every other day. Eek. Only two more cycles until we start ivf in August so crossing fingers we can get a natural bfp before then. Here's hoping!

@CatRen27 I have just cleaned my v mucky laptop screen in your honour so that I can do my best line eyes for you! I think I see something. Those CB ones are crap though. Are you still in London? Try Boots or Superdrug. Our local branches don't carry FRERs, but I'm mega in the sticks!

@Pudding01 @AngelMiracle hope the burning boobs are of significance!!!

I have ordered 25 more (!!!) cheapies, which will arrive tomorrow, and I've taken... wait for it... THREE tests today, ladies. (That makes nine tests since last Thursday. Ahem). Definitely got progression on the last one, and I also did a supermarket one which gives a clearer line. I've also closely compared them to photos I have of the tests I took in March (obsessive? moi?) and if anything they are slightly stronger now than they were at the same stage back then. So I need to relax, at least until something happens either way. But I can't!

CatRen27 · 16/07/2018 20:23

Well @badbad I feel honoured! It came up for me to see it in the first 10 minutes and has dried a lot darker so I've tasked dh to come home via boots for a frer. Can't believe you're still testing!! Step away from the sticks, you're definitely preggers lady! Must be so nerve wracking though i bet I'd be doing the same. Fx for even more line progression and sticky baby bean 😊

But i should note that i know cb is dodgy and late faint lines are likely to end in chemicals so definitely not jumping to any conclusions yet

mayago · 16/07/2018 21:17

I'm not great with CB, and have never actually used one. I can see a line though @CatRen27

Have you done a digi yet @BadBadBeans ? I relaxed a little when I got the 3 weeks+ last time around.

I've bought the babystart FSH test strips, which are meant to give a vague indication of fertility.. I'm a bit nervous to take one tomorrow (CD3) Blush

CatRen27 · 16/07/2018 21:20

Ooh @mayago that's so interesting I've never heard of home fsh testing. Let us know how you get on, fx for a good result for you xx

@BadBadBeans good to hear from you! Glad you're getting good line progression 😊 When do you go to midwife?

Lots of fx for the frer @Catren27 🤞🤞🤞

Good luck @mayago

LethargicButAwesome · 16/07/2018 22:36

Same @mayago after internet Charlie's I took a digital and it gave me piece of mind.

Sore boobs was the first indicator for me last time around so fx for you @pudding and @angel

@maya will be interested to learn about the fsh kits lemme know how it goes

Hi everyone
Late in the day to join the thread I know but I only just found you - take pity on me and let me in?!
My sorry stats are
Age 34
DD age 2.5
Ttc for over two years so prob on cycle (gulp) 25 or 26
Think I'm about 4dpo but I just use an app and don't temp or anything like that so could be off

I wanted to say thank you for starting the thread @CatRen27 - I've just been reading it and feeling warm about all the support you are all giving each other. It's just nice. Thrilled for those of you who have got your bfps and just wanted to add another 'I know how it feels' to those of you who haven't or who are still waiting - especially you @CatRen27 as our stats are so similar.

I'm not very proactive - I've dabbled with ovulation sticks but for reasons I can't fully explain, I don't seem willing to put the effort into the tracking and temping etc - not sure whether it's fear or laziness holding me back. I've been so guilty of thinking 'maybe next month' that I've effectively buried my head in the sand for two years but keep suffering disappointments. Practically every woman I know is pregnant or has had a baby recently. I hate the emotional roller coaster of hopes raised and dashed, to drink or not to drink, working out due dates every month just in case...god it's so depressing. And like the rest of you I have those bursts of shame that I should be more grateful for the amazing daughter we have already when so many people don't have a child at all. Argh! Sorry. Didn't realise I needed to vent like that until I started typing - thanks if you read it all, sorry for the pity party - just having one of those nights...

Finally did go to gp to ask for a referral for tests to see whether anything is up with either of us - we have an appt on 6 August to get the ball rolling, so at least I feel like I'm doing something ( other than lots of sex, which tbh we've been better at during some cycles more than others - two years is a long time to be constantly at it!)

Good luck everyone - I hate it when people in real life are reluctant to share their happy baby news - wish I could help them understand that I never ever think 'why her and not me?' - it's always 'I wish it was me too!'
Right, Christ, I'm really done now

CatRen27 · 17/07/2018 06:57

Welcome @mouse, your words definitely ring true for me! The sadness is so hard to deal with when babies should be such happy news, sorry you're struggling, you've got friends here. We do sound like we're in the same (rubbish) boat. I'm glad you've got an appointment set up, just for peace of mind that you're both fine and doing everything you can. Hand hold to you!

CatRen27 · 17/07/2018 07:35

Hrmm just tried to post twice but neither turned up so sorry if three updates appear magically!

I had more spotting last night so thought af had arrived but nothing all night or this morning so i did the frer that dh diligently brought home last night and got a very faint line. Not filling me with confidence though as at 16dpo and 1 day late it shouldn't be so faint. Ehh just want to know one way or the other!

OP posts:
Pudding01 · 17/07/2018 07:41

Sorry you're still in limbo @CatRen27 ☹️ Have you got a pic of the test?

Also, you may have already said & I've forgotten, but do you definitely know what day you ovulated? Ever since my false one, followed by the real one a week later, I don't trust opks atm! X

MouseBatMummy · 17/07/2018 07:44

Thanks for the hand hold @CatRen27
I am willing that faint line to get stronger for you. Limbo is so cruel. Hang in there.

CatRen27 · 17/07/2018 07:55

Thanks @mouse and @pudding, its a mystery. For some reason my app won't post messages with pictures this morning. My chart shows pretty clearly when i ovulated as there was an obvious shift at cd14 way above the coverline. It dipped at 5dpo but not below coverline and has stayed high ever since, shifting even higher at 9/10 dpo. So everything there looks textbook!

BadBadBeans · 17/07/2018 08:43

@CatRen27 ooooo the suspense is killing me! The thing is, implantation can take different lengths of time, right? So even if we both ovulated on the same day, I could have implanted at, say, 6 days and you could have implanted at 12, which could account for the fact that the lines are still quite faint for you. Am I right in thinking that? Also, if you were doing the FRER last thing at night rather than with fmu then it would be weaker too wouldn't it?

Hi @MouseBatMummy - I loved your description of what you're thinking when people announce they're pregnant. Sorry you've had such a hard slog of it. I'm glad you've got a referral for tests - at least then you won't be wondering if something is awry. Maybe joining the thread will make this your lucky cycle!

@mayago Good luck with the FSH tests. I didn't know you could do them either! No I've not done a digi. I've actually never done a digi in my life! I had a stronger line come up this morning though on the internet cheapie so I'm just going to keep on doing one of those a day for the next couple of weeks. (And going to look at the result and compare it to the previous tests approx 340 times a day...) I can't believe I'm still testing either CatRen... I guess the miscarriage put the wind up me. I want to see those HCG levels rising!

@Angelmiracle I haven't actually rung the GP yet. I've been half-waiting for my period to start and for this to reveal itself as a chemical. I might ring them in a bit! Last time I spoke to a really dippy receptionist who thought I shouldn't ring them at all until I was 8-12 weeks pregnant! I questioned her closely but she properly fobbed me off and made me feel a bit silly for ringing. Eventually rang back at 6 weeks and the next receptionist I spoke to was horrified that I hadn't been in! Here we have to go to the doctor first and get given our notes booklet to start filling in to bring to our booking-in app.

I've joined the March ante-natal thread in an effort to make myself feel confident about this pregnancy, but it is incredibly busy and hard to keep up with. Also, people keep dropping off with miscarriages, which is just awful. I can't believe I'm only 4+3. I already feel like I've known forever. The perils of early testing I suppose!

MouseBatMummy · 17/07/2018 11:01

Thanks @BadBadBeans - here's hoping something might be different this month! Af due on or around 27 July so still a long wait for me! I've given up on the testing - I know everyone has their rituals and deals differently but I had to stop early testing as it made me feel rubbish and we had an awful situation ( of our own making!) in March 2017 when I tested early with a digi, got a bfp on Mother's Day - thought it was fate so like fools told my family when they came over that day for Mother's Day lunch, toasted with champagne etc. And of course it ended up being a chemical and we had to tell people literally two days later that actually no, no baby on the way. So no testing until at least 27th for me as clearly I can't be trusted.
However, I totally get why you keep testing now that you have your bfp - whatever makes you feel reassured is good. And good call on joining the other boards - you have such lovely news and it's so wonderful you can join those groups! Congratulations!

@CatRen27 - keeping everything crossed for you. For what it's worth, with our DD I didn't get a clear bfp until almost a week after my period was due - sometimes it's just takes that bit longer. Good luck!

Angelmiracle · 17/07/2018 11:46

10dpo ladies can you see....🙈😁

Hisashiburi · 17/07/2018 11:55

Oh angel I can definitely see!!! That's exciting.

Angelmiracle · 17/07/2018 12:14

I had took a Boots test first and can see the faintest of lines but unsure if it was pink so tried the frer. It's a bit stronger than what it's photographing.
