[... Insert jazzier title here!]

The bus is still running, we're sick of bastard bfns, and crossing fingers (and some) for Feb 2019 babies. Come join!

I'm 35 yo
DD is 3yo
Cycle 25 (urgh!!)
Af/bfp due 18th June

After a few months charting and opk-ing, I've decided to chuck it all out and try and dtd every other day. Eek. Only two more cycles until we start ivf in August so crossing fingers we can get a natural bfp before then. Here's hoping!

@ladybug92 🤞 she doesn't appear for you!!

CatRen27 · 17/06/2018 23:28

Hey Thissucks we totally get you, ttc any number is shit when it doesn't happen. I'm on cycle 25 and it definitely isn't fun! You're still in though for June so fx for you.

Angel so sorry the witch arrived! Are you doing okay?

Ladybug fingers crossed for you!

Mayago ooooh can you show us some pics? I really hope its the month for you!

Thanks everyone for the hopeful wishes, its so lovely having the Women of my Phone right there with me.

I don't have an update though! Ran out of all my tests because I'm a poas addict and decided to give it a rest yesterday. The worst is that my sleep was so disturbed (dd!) that my temp reading wasn't worth anything. I've woken up today (af is due) with a consistently high temp, and expected to see af here but nothing. Not even the spotting. So ill see how I get on and if nothing happens today I'll do a test. I'm sooo sick of bfns now though I'm not sure i have it in me! We'll see. Good luck everyone xx

Aaaand af has arrived exactly on time. I'm counting this as another chemical as I got a clear faint positive at 10dpo which started to fade from 11dpo.

We were looking to start ivf in Aug but I'm thinking we'll wait until October when our health insurance will cover more of the costs, so we'll give ourselves a few more cycles to try naturally.

@CatRen27 - thats rubbish, I'm sorry. Fingers crossed for next month for you.

Dispite trying for all this time, after reading through this feed, I'm now wondering if I might not be ovulating when I thought. Like some of you I have an app which tells me when my window is. However the tell tale signs (the knicker goop) was just on saturday so about a week after the app said but I'm sure i also had some earlier, can it happen twice?

If only it were easy.

Pudding01 · 18/06/2018 06:57

Sorry @CatRen27. It's horrible when AF turns up when you have a little hope. GL for next Month x

Pudding01 · 18/06/2018 06:59

AF due today (CD28) and I think I'm 10dpo now... BFN isn't it ☹️

Hi thissucks thanks for that. Have you tried temping? I found that this is the best way to know when you're ovulating if you're not sure. OPKs are good but you have to make sure you catch the LH surge and mine is so fast I often miss it. I use fertility friend for the bbt charting and it has really helped pinpoint ovulation. Also, you can get fertile CM more than once in each cycle, so that's why it can be confusing!

CatRen27 · 18/06/2018 07:04

Sorry pudding cross posted. Thanks for that, you're right I was holding a bit more hope this time. I've taken a good look at your tests and think you're right, I can't see a line. 10 dpo is still pretty early though, i'm surprised AF is already due? Seems like a short luteal phase - is it always that short? Might be worth looking into ways to lengthen it? I think it was @hidcat who had the advise on that

Pudding01 · 18/06/2018 07:16

Hi @CatRen27, I ovulated later for some reason this month. Got my positive ovulation CD17, so guessing I ovulated CD18. Completely thrown me as last month was the standard amount of days.
Would you not rule it out at 10dpo with a FRER then? I guess I'll just sit in suspense for the week and see which comes first... 🙄 x

CatRen27 · 18/06/2018 07:18

@Pudding01 so you probably aren't due on for a few days if you ovulated late then - your luteal phase usually stays pretty consistent. I probably wouldn't rule yourself out based on FRER just yet - if you were 13dpo I would! Hopefully you get your bfp this month fx Smile

HidCat · 18/06/2018 07:27

@Pudding01 sorry for the bfn, hopefully it will change in the next few days. I think your luteal phase is ok. Apparently anything under 10 days can be problematic but if it's 10days or over then should be fine.

@CatRen27 sorry AF got you. 🤞 you'll have a sticky before October.

@Thissucks1 it's entirely possible. I've been looking up long luteal phases as I'm fairly sure ovulate earlier than I should for my cycle length. I'm temping this month so hopefully that will confirm what's going on.

lapenguin · 18/06/2018 07:33

Can I just ask, what are people doing with regards to antihistamines? Ive heard good and bad?

HidCat · 18/06/2018 07:40

@lapenguin I've always used loratadine during pregnancy as that seems to be regarded as the safest but I use cetrizine hydrochloride until I get a bfp.

Murphyrocks · 18/06/2018 08:09

Putting my 2 pennies worth in to support @HidCat re @Pudding01 cycle - I have a 10 day lp and conceived month 2 with dc1 (currently month 2/3 ttc dc2) so don't think it's a problem, and yes according to this chart 1 in 3 pregnant women don't get a bfp by 10dpo so I'd say you're still in with a shout! www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=10

So sorry to hear that @CatRen27, fx for next cycle but we're all here to support in the meantime.

@Thissucks1 absolutely no problem to vent, I can't even imagine how hard it must be to go through this for so long, just because others have it worse doesn't mean it's not hard for you too! I'd definitely recommend temping if you're not already - using opks and tracking CM are useful too but imho temping is the most accurate way to pinpoint O, although it does take a few months to really get to know your cycle. Also means if you do have to go to the GP you'll already be able to show them what your body is doing cycle wise which can only be helpful right?!

@lappenguin personally I use pirinase for hay fever as I kinda feel like a nasal spray is probably better than oral meds?

Thissucks1 · 18/06/2018 08:37

Thanks everyone. Feeling supported!
@HidCat @Murphyrocks what is temping? Sorry i know thats a stupid question in this chat 🙈

lapenguin · 18/06/2018 08:44

Thank you guys!
I have loratitdine so I will give that a try
I will have to get some spray! My current one is prescription one and it just says talk to your gp if you are considering becoming pregnant.
To be fair nothing works well if I am by an open window or door let alone being outside!

Thissucks1 · 18/06/2018 09:01

@lapenguin i think i use loratitdine too and dr said when i was expecting my daughter, that it was ok as only a once a day tablet. I'm not convinced any of the antihistamines work though. Forever clawing at my eyeballs.

Murphyrocks · 18/06/2018 09:03

@lapenguin yes I know the feeling - I use local honey over the winter months which takes the edge off but it's still not great.

@Thissucks1 temping=tracking your BBT (basal body temperature - your temperature when you first wake up before getting out of bed) as you run a bit hotter after you've ovulated so it helps pinpoint when that is. I use naturalcycles for contraception so gotten pretty good at temping, feel more in tune with my body too which makes me feel a bit more in control, which can only be good when ttc. Naturalcycles isn't the cheapest, or probably best option when ttc, I'm just using it because I'm on it anyway and it has all my history etc, but there are several free apps out there (fertilityfriend etc - others can probably recommend better than me) that will do something similar.

Pudding01 · 18/06/2018 09:08

Thank you for the advice. It's usually around 12/13 days, so should get an answer either way by the weekend 🤞🏻 x

Murphyrocks · 18/06/2018 09:27

Good stuff @Pudding01, yes still in with a shout then!

Thissucks1 · 18/06/2018 09:32

Thanks @Murphyrocks.
I really should of known this haha

Thissucks1 · 18/06/2018 09:40

Thanks @Murphyrocks.
I really should of known this haha

lapenguin · 18/06/2018 10:02

My eyes are constantly watering and my nose is just urgh! I need to find a local farm for some honey!

mayago · 18/06/2018 11:26

Looking any luck this morning? FRRR should be sensitive enough, I would think. FRERs are on offer at Boots, but it's buy one double pack and get a second half price. I'm holding on to my last one as I don't want to buy four more Hmm

Thissucks it is a hard one, isn't it. I am so blessed to have DD, and constantly feel guilty for all the effort and emotion that goes into TTC. We would be happy with one DC, but feel more complete with two. Last month I was more relaxed, noticed more symptoms than usual, waited to test until AF was due, and she came as I was dipping the freaking test into FMU. It's just not fair.

ladybug and Pudding you're not out until AF arrives!! Fingers crossed she stays away.

CatRen I'm so sorry, that really sucks. Hopefully next month will be your month.

lapenguin I haven't suffered with hayfever last year, or much while I was pregnant for some reason, but it's back this year. I have just been living in misery. I'm drinking nettle tea in the morning, and hunting for local honey. Nasal spray will be next, but it's just ugh.

BFN on an IC this morning, so the last FRER will save for another day. Not sure why my app is saying AF is due tomorrow, as it's usually on 12dpo, not 10. I only have one cheapie left now, so I can see more FRERs being bought..
