Looking for some experience really. I took medicine about 3 hours ago to bring on a managed miscarriage as at my 7+5 scan there was no heartbeat. How long did it take for the bleeding to start and how bad was it. Sorry for tmi.

Boboelephant · 09/05/2018 20:46

@Martydog oh no! I'm so sorry to see you back here. That is really rubbish. I don't have any experience as I had erpc but just wanted to send hugs 🐧❤

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 09/05/2018 21:08

@martydog so sorry to read this , it took around 3 hours or so for the bleeding to start for me. It was a lot of blood very quickly and quite painful , codeine and a hot water bottle helped me xx

weasledee · 09/05/2018 21:16

So sorry to read this martydog x

hayleyfx · 09/05/2018 21:38

@Martydog I’m so so sorry 😔 sending you lots of hugs 💕

Sloeberrygin · 09/05/2018 21:57

Really sorry @martydog, that's really rubbish. Sending hugs x

maxiflump1 · 09/05/2018 22:03

So sorry @Martydog. I had the medication twice but unfortunately it didn't work either time for me. They did say it could take up to 48 hours though when it does work.

zarala · 09/05/2018 22:07

@Martydog I am so sorry to hear this
Did you take the pills by mouth?
For me I took them on a Monday evening but nothing really started until the Wednesday morning- then it was quite intense all that day. Bleeding then died down that night and spotted for a few days after.
There is a really good thread called the practicalities of miscarriage which I found really useful for managing it at home- I'll try and find the link-
Hope you have your partner with you and that you won't be alone for the next couple of days. Take care of yourself and try and relax as much as possible.

@Martydog this is it: Tips for coping with the practicalities of miscarriagewww.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage/1344311-Tips-for-coping-with-the-practicalities-of-miscarriage

YellowDaffodils86 · 09/05/2018 22:11

@Martydog
I am so so sad to read this. I don't really have any words. Just that im so sorry, and its unfair. Sending hugs and i hope it goes quickly and smoothly for you. 🙁

HidCat · 09/05/2018 22:20

@Martydog I'm so sorry xxx🐧

Laney79 · 09/05/2018 22:24

@Martydog so so sorry to hear this.

I had medical management-the first dose of misoprostol alone (800mcg vaginally) only gave me mild period pain...I had another 400mcg vaginally 48 hours later with the same result.

After a lot of back and forth I was eventually given mifepristone 48 hours before another 800mcg of misoprostol. I had pains starting within 2 hours and a little spotting and then more cramping and pains and blood clots but nothing horrendous until 48 hours later when I had a lot of pain and clots/blood loss.

I hope it happens as quickly and painlessly as poss for you xxx

DaisyMay25 · 09/05/2018 23:30

@Martydog so sorry to hear that x

rdm10 · 10/05/2018 00:07

@martydog so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself x

Daffodil77 · 10/05/2018 06:29

@Martydog sending you a big virtual hug. I'm so sorry this has happened. Is your dh still away? Xxx

weasledee · 10/05/2018 06:53

BFN! Fed up. Before I had the d and c I got pregnant with no issues. I can't help feeling now this issue is because of that procedure Shock

BabynameEdie · 10/05/2018 06:53

@Martydog I'm so sorry to see you're back here and to hear about your mc. I don't have any advice I'm afraid as haven't taken the pills but just wanted to say how sorry I am and sending you lots of hugs.
🐧 Into the middle of the penguin huddle 🐧

BabynameEdie · 10/05/2018 06:55

@weasledee don't panic, you're still just 10 dpo and according to FF only 10% or pregnancies had a BFP at 10 dpo. You're still in with a chance! Hope you have a busy day to keep your mind off it xx

ek78 · 10/05/2018 07:34

Hi ladies, Woke up feeling sad today. A colleague announced that they are having a baby in October yesterday- same month mine was due. I’ve been doing so well and then... I guess it comes in waves.

Primrose16 · 10/05/2018 07:35

@Martydog how are you today? Sorry my reply is late, it took about 3 hours for my bleeding to start. I had the tablets under the tongue. Bleeding was horrendous. I hope you are okay xx

BabynameEdie · 10/05/2018 07:45

@ek78 I know the feeling, mine was due in October too and it just kicks me in the gut every time I hear of someone else with a due date then. Allow yourself to feel sad, it's all part of the grieving process. Our time will come, and we'll be so so appreciative when it does because of the struggles we've been through 💕

strawberrye · 10/05/2018 07:55

@Martydog I'm so sorry to hear this. No words of advice as both my MCs came on naturally but I just wanted to say I'm really sorry to hear your news and am thinking of you. Sending hugs Flowers

ek78 · 10/05/2018 08:17

@babynameisedie Thank you. Xx I know you are right. I’ll try and go easy on myself today.

Lovemysparkle · 10/05/2018 09:58

Morning all @martydog I am so sorry to hear what you are going through my 1st mc was a mmc & originally opted for d&c but started miscarrying naturally the day after we found out & ended up at a&e sorry i cannot give more advice but am sending lots of love to you❤️
Af due for me (if 28 day cycle Monday) but will probably arrive over the weekend!! Have had the usual pre af shit bad back, veiny & heavy boobs & my mood has been somewhat moody 🙈 today af symptoms seems to have tailed off quite a bit but I’m sure the witch will arrive 🧙🏼‍♀️
Both me & dp had a major meltdown Sunday morning, I was asking him how does he cope so well (as I’ve struggled a bit this month) was pregnant exactly the same time last year & I know I shouldn’t but dates really stick in my mind!! Generally I think men bury their heads a bit & feel they have to be strong for us (even though we’re probably stronger) but dp said to me it’s not that he doesn’t care & there hasn’t been a day that he hasn’t not thought about our little sparkle (1st mmc saw our sparkle in scan with beautiful heartbeat ❤️ ) he has always said that for a few days it was real & a dad but then it cruelly got taken away & it all came to the surface Sunday that he has never grieved as he doesn’t know how to & he doesn’t want to let go of our little sparkle 😢 he chooses to bury it deep inside especially with the other 2 mc’s as well, he then was the one asking me how can I be so strong & find the strength to try all over again!!!

Claire138 · 10/05/2018 12:36

@martydog I really am so sorry to see this. I hope you are ok and have plenty of support around you. Sending big virtual hug!! Xx
